Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Why call the movie Batman vs Superman?

It's called dawn of justic for a reason. The official synposis directly points out that there is a bigger threat looming in the background. It's been obvious since day one that the two were going to team up before the end of the film.

And the trailer goes out of its way to show that lex is manipulating both of them to fight each other. When that fails he's goes to plan b.

It doesn't seem as pretentious as I thought it would be. It looks awkward as Hell, but my interest has actually gone up a bit. Maybe it'll just be some brainless comic book romp with a bunch of fan service and fun, like Avengers or something.

I'm OK with that.

This sums up my opinion nicely.

I feel mixed about this trailer. Jesse acts like all the other characters he plays. Doomsday looks like a cross between Thing and a TMNT like someone else said above. The team up is cool but i feel like they dont mesh together. Not sure if its the actors or the costumes in that scene.

They showed way too damn much. Just not a good trailer overall.

Why do studios feel like they need to show off the whole movie to get people to go watch it? It's dumb. They pretty much just unsold me on the film.

I was hesitantly excited for this, but the trailer brought me back to earth. Doomsday looks like a generic, run-of-the mill cgi monster - straight out of the Hobbit.

I love to see all the bitching and moaning capped off with "but I'll still go see it."

LOL. And you wonder why they ignore you and continue to peddle the poison. Vote with your wallet.

You just know the last act is going to be a hot, CGI riddled mess.

It's a good trailer, I just wish it hadn't gone full "Terminator: Genisys" and spoiled what seems like a huge plot point.

I have followed none of this movie's leadup. I didn't know there was a Villian. I was hoping there'd be something other than the good ole "evil force unites the two enemies" trope. You know, something more like "The Dark Knight Returns" (Comic) where there's no big-bad villian.

I was wrong :(

Of course a greater threat has to unite them and start the League. This isn't a Paul Thomas Anderson film. It's a comic book movie. You stick to what works in that respect.

That showed way too fucking much, wtf.

Not really sure how I feel about this yet, trailer didn't do much for me.
Shows the lack of confidence they have in that project, trying desperately to show things that people could find interesting, even if they would be grander as a surprise.

Looks fun enough to make me want to watch it.

But the choppy, sped up (missing frames) animation is really ugly and annoying. (Superman dropping down to where Batman is captive, Batman on the side of the building etc).

And Lex is just plain wrong. Terrible casting.

My issue isn't with it being there, it's with it being shown in a trailer when people are clearly expecting the main conflict to be around Batman and Superman.

What is he supposed to look like? Doomsday, in any media, has always been a generic run of the mill monster, it's his features that make him unique.

What would you rather him look like?

Why wouldnt a 9 year old kid think he looks cool.

Batman with a gun would have been enough.

They have to add the bones to Doomsday. He looks fucking dumb. It's bad enough having him come from Zod's corpse, but at least get the goddamn look right.

A fellow NeoGAFer said that it was rumored that Doomsday
grows the bones in response to injury
. So expect him to get a hearty uppercut from Superman.

Horrible trailer, started well, but the music was cringe worthy generic, the way the trailer was edited made it look cheap, and the effects work is all over the place (mostly bad).

Batman looks silly at the end.

The biggest thing I'm concerned about is them selling the justification and means by which Batman can take on Clark. He's smart enough to realize the dude can demolish an entire city single-handedly, so just trying to punch him in the face is a dumb idea. What's the endgame?

I mean, we know there's the power armor, but I guess Kryptonite is also involved somehow?

Not that I'm really bothered by it since I've known Doomsday was in this movie for a long time now, but how hard it is for some people to understand that the reveal in this trailer does actually constitute a pretty big plot point that many others wouldn't have known otherwise? Yes, you could safely assume that the Batman and Superman would stop vs-ing each other and team up to fight another villain -- but what about that general idea at all hints at "and Lex Luthor creates Doomsday out of Zod's corpse oh and Wonder Woman shows up so it's a whole Trinity battle too"?

Damn that doesn't look half as good as all the snippets and teasers thus far. Framing WW as a pump and dump plot device ain't a good look either.

I'm just gonna pretend this trailer didn't happen.

Okay, so what DC villain would you want that wouldn't be a CGI monster? Even if they went warsuit Lex, it would still be just CGI robot action

Every big movie is a cgi fest these days. I dont know why people still complain about it. If you don't like it go watch an indie.

I thought he looked familiar!

Right, that's where I saw him before.

The whole trailer is literally saved by that last shot of the big three at the end. Anyway you cut it, that's some iconic shit right there.

It's great that young girls are now going to be able to have a major superhero of their own in the movie to look up to. She will be badass, I'm pretty sure of that.

They're so lucky to have those characters to work with. It's hard to screw up completely.

True, true. A man can hope though, can't he?

I still can't help that, thanks to the title (and not the subtitle, which I honestly didn't notice until people in this thread starting pointing it out), I feel like I've been hoodwinked into expecting something (B v S) and instead got (what looks like) a by the numbers comic book movie. At least it doesn't feel as bad as "The Death of Superman" did.

I totally get it though. Gotta set up more movies, create a universe, and have their Avengers competitor.

As to be expected they'll team up to fight the real big bad evil, but still a little surprised they gave that away in the trailer

Wow ok that was hugely dissapointing. Why is there so much CGI and why does it look so terrible...fuck
also lex was cringeworthy bad holy

and why would you show batman and superman teaming up together in the end? WTF

I knew doomsday was a possibility and was hoping it was all false information

Is this worse than Parallax the cloud monster?

Yes, because doomsday sucks in every incarnation

I liked the Bruce/Clark stuff though. Dialogue was whatever but them together is cool. I do wish Cavill would even PRETEND to hide as Clark

Music wasn't very good.

I don't have any complaints against wonder woman either. Her placement in the trailer was bad, but editing was a mess all together

I dunno man

My daughter looks up to Spider-Man. He's her hero. Except she'd like him better if he wears a pink/turquoise suit.

which I will provide her with by painting an action figure
