Final Fantasy VII PS4 |OT| One last time before the remake

Edit: THERE IS STILL HOPE! We'll see when someone gets to "This guy are sick".

How is this a mis-translation? The next line is 'it's gonna counterattack with <attack name I can't remember>!'

Makes perfect sense to me. If you attack, it's going to counter you.

I'm loving the 3x speed for the cut scenes. The animations are so slow in them, that it makes it far less painful, and you can still read the dialogue at your own pace.

The improved character models are nice too.

I didn't think FPS in battles were that bad, similar to the original. People gotta stop holding 20 year old games to today's standards. There's only so much they can do with the game without remaking it.... .oh wait, they are :)

Whats the 3x speed cheat? Love the game but anything to help speed along would be appreciated.

L3 toggles it.

Haha, I interrupted a playthrough of a brand new game to play a game I've finished all the way through at least 20 times

I own this game on PS1 disc, PS3/Vita, PC via Steam, and now on PS4

Haha, wtf is wrong with me

Proper use of punctuation marks, what is that?

Should be "Attack while its tails up, it's gonna counterattack with its laser!"

EDIT:
An exclamation mark is widly used to end a sentence. Because of this, many people read it as:

"Attack while it's tails up!"
"It's gonna counter attack with its laser!"

Not:

"Attack while it's tails up! It's gonna counter attack with its laser!"

Exactly.

Just finished downloading it but I won't touch until tomorrow (playing it with a friend). Can't wait to dive back into this game. I haven't played it for more than 10 years.

The two are not linked with the way it structures the sentence, and are across two windows obviously.

If the two sentences were combined, like, "Attack while it's tail up and it's gonna counter with its laser," it would be much less confusing.

If I didn't have so much to play right now, I'd get this. I want the theme, and damnit, I just want another excuse to play the greatest video game of all time.

I'm honestly shocked the problem can't be seen here.

EDIT:

Exactly.

I see the misuse of the punctuation in its. But that's a typo. I think some folks think the mis-translation is that it's telling you to attack, when it clearly isn't.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. The structure is malformed. But, I don't consider that a mis-translation per-se. Just bad structure.

It needs the word 'If' in there. It doesn't make sense the way it's written.
It clearly states that you need to attack now while its tail is up.

Not if you read the two lines as one continuous piece of dialogue

"Attack while it's tails up! It's gonna counter attack with its laser!"

It's because its split over two lines that confuses the delivery.

The trophies are pretty much all on 0.00%. I could be one of the first, if not the first person to get an arbitrary digital trophy for making the main character of a video game manage to convince a fat, despicable lecherous old man that he is a sexually attractive woman.

That's something to be proud of.

Hahaha! Something to tell the grandkids

Ouch there are some rough trophies in there.

- obtain 99,999,999 gil
- learn Great Gospel (I've never personally done this, but I guess I have to now if I want platinum)
- Master Summon materia- lot of grinding needed for that one.
- 3 hidden, I'm assuming those are for
beating emerald/Ruby
, and I'm not sure of the third

- also, less of an issue, but still tough without a guide,
is to have Barrett as your gold saucer date.

So are the Barrett date, Don Cornero choosing Cloud, and Aerith's final limit break trophies the only missable ones? If so, that doesn't seem too bad. I'd be really happy with 1 playthrough required for a platinum.

Bahamut is missable (very hard to miss tho) and Bahamut ZERO is missable. As long as you get the password minigame on the rocket correct you'll be fine.

Playstation live chat was super helpful for the pricing issue. Got my $5 code through chat and now I can relax. Took about 10 minutes but I'm glad I did. Now I kinda feel like I should put it towards one of those PS2 games.

I did this on my most recent play through, which was on the Vita.
Spoilers ahead which document how long it took and how I achieved it.

When you first visit Junon you can go down the ramp which you visit in Disc 2 which takes you to the underwater reactor. Activate the alarm on the wall and you can fight enemies which give really good Exp and good gil, but be warned, they'll be challenging until you level. Doing this makes the rest of the game a bit of a cakewalk though as you'll soon level to your mid 40's and end up with level 3 limit breaks at least.

I think the in game clock was at 20-22 hours or so by the time I got it.
