Final Fantasy VII PS4 |OT| One last time before the remake

How do you get Vincent again?

Go into the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim, do the little safe minigame and beat the boss that comes out of it. Go down the long spiral staircase and down the tunnel a bit. Before you get to the library, there is a room you unlock with a key from the safe, it has a coffin that stands out from the background as a polygonal object. Interact with it, talk to Vincent, choose the second dialogue options and he will go back in his coffin. Attempt to leave and he will talk to you again, choose the second dialogue option again and he will join your party.

Oh right. I just have to level up aerith before the
worst happens
, right? I'll look for a guide for the other two though, because I don't remember how to do those things =p

Thanks!

You start with a level 1 limit break. Let's call it 1A.

To unlock 1B you need to use 1A a certain number of times.
To unlock 2A you need to kill a certain no of enemies. To unlock 2B use 2A a certain number of times.
To unlock 3A kill a certain number of enemies. To unlock 3B use 3A a certain number of times.

Once you've done that you need to get a special item to unlock 4A (there is no 4B).

There's plenty of guides on how to get the final limit break items, but they can't be used until all the other limit breaks are learned as outlined above. This applies to all characters except for Cait Sith (who only has a 1A and 2A) and Vincent (who only has 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A).

Basically I just need to grind Aerith using her Limit breaks (to unlock the "B" limits) then get the item and unlock her final one. The 3x speed mode will come at handy.

It's technically possible to reach 2A and 3A with getting 1B and 2B but I doubt no one ever does this :)

The problem is getting the last hit on like 300 enemies with weaksauce Aeris. It still takes a few hours with the 3x speed if you want it done on all characters. Guides usually suggest special magics from the E-skill magic (missiles that hit all enemies every time from an enemy just outside Midgar preferably), and killing tons of enemies in the cave after the huge snake, before reaching Junon the first time. I think you need to progress just beyond the gold saucer before you can get the ultimate limit break.

The cave was my place for a grind and relatively easy after you have leveled a bit. (Simple Fira or Thundara is enough to kill group of enemies.)

Choco/Mog summon is nice too :) I like the missiles because they insta-kill most groups in there very fast.

Sorry to bump this thread.

Never played past the first disk when FFVII first came out on PS1 and I've been playing it for the first time on PS4 lately. Is there a good guide I should use to find all the optional stuff that I could miss if I didn't know about them in advance? Like the Zack flashback scene, Vincent, the Weapon fights, or anything else? Since I don't know everything there is to find I'd like a guide that has a list of all of them if possible.

There are some really good GameFAQs guides on the site to use.

There's a site called Gamefaqs.

Use it. It's been around for years. All the old stuff from PS1 time is still there. There's several large full game guides.

No shit.

I'd rather not follow a guide word for word on 30 hour play through. I just wanted a list of any scenes and characters that I could miss if I didn't know about them before hand. Not items or materia, but scenes like the Zack scene and Vincent backstory scene and any others I wouldn't know about if I haven't played the same before.

Have you heard of Gamefaqs? lul.

While this is bumped ill just add I finally completed my playthrough recently. Just some trophies to clear up for the platinum. I'll probably go back and cheat the weapons as I cba doing it legit (completed game legit, just used 3x). Then there is the stupid 99m gil and finally go back through with a guide to get Barret as a date.

The more I think about it I'll probably be getting that platinum in a few months lol.

Oh I used hard resetting on breeding chocobos because was I hell relying on RNG for that. Need a female... Get 10 males in a row...

Then just skim the FAQs while you play?

I'm not sure what you want unless it's for someone else to do this for you.

Playing this now actually, probably due to the countdown for FFXV.
Only ever played it the once previously on a PSP, now I'm playing on PS4, makes me wonder how much I remembered. Barely remember anything, but it's great. I think this must have really blown minds back in the day, especially as I find it hard to play "older" games now, but this is giving me no problems really. The charm, music and story all keeping me engaged.
Was playing FF8 recently too and I have to say still I still feel I enjoy FF7 more. I guess gameplay wise it's just more "pure and simple", while FF8 had junction, which I never really fully understood, which isn't great as I wouldn't say I really enjoy turn based either.
The x3 alone on this remaster makes it worth it ha ha. It almost feels like it should be this speed ha ha, can't look at normal speed now, feels so slow.

Whats annoyed me so far is due to going to platinum, lost progress 2x now, first time had to start a new game, though wasn't far anyway so didn't mind. 2nd time I just finished grinding all my characters limit breaks, fucked up on gold saucer, forgot to save, have to grind them all again :'(
Nearly done now, just Red XIII and Cloud to go.
