I like solo battling the VR bosses but zero materia is hardcore.

But if you are struggling at all with combat, watching how a guy beats a boss even without materia can help you get some pointers to do it real smoothly with materia

I feel the game is taking a weird turn with the Gi stuff, for me it sort of breaks the pace of the story, I feel like it would wave been a good companion side quest.
In fact, there a few of the main quests that would wave been better as companion side quests.

personally i get what they trying to expand with the Gi tribe but the section feels like dragged too long and it feels like slog.
