Last I heard they're not running the Disney logo in front of it, like Marvel films. If you want to hear the new Lucasfilm fanfare it's on YouTube.

It's gonna be weird not experiencing a 20th Century Fox fanfare as usual.

So that Russel Crowe Tweet was legit? I bunch of folks down is Brisbane reportedly saw 10 minutes of the film. Haven't seen it mentioned here, didn't want to go into the spoiler thread though.

I remember always as a kid buying a comic book version of the Star Wars movies afterwards. Any idea if there'll be such this time? Haven't heard any news about this but thought it's sort of tradition at this point!

There's loads of Star Wars comics coming out at the moment. Not for the film though. The digital edition of the film's novel is out on the 18th if that takes your fancy.

That work?

Thank you so much, it's amazing.

Digital Eps 1-3, 5, and 6 are already like this. Ep 7 will be identical to the digital versions of those movies. First/only company logo will be Lucasfilm, just like Marvel.

Anyone here capable of making me an avatar of Finn with the lightsaber? But with Finn in black and white and the only thing of color is the light saber itself. Thanks so much!

Driver and Boyega talking about their duel, say its the best yet "Brutal, ignite to kill, no fantasy, has meaning to it"

Fantastic! I like the prequel fights for what they are. Masters against masters at the top of their game with years and years of formal training (like kata) behind them.

But I love the OT fights for how efficient and deliberate they are. Anakin, Yoda, and Obi-Wan having long lost the finesse from prequel years and Luke having had only a modicum of formal sabre training. It makes sense if you force it too haha.

Pretty easy to pick up tickets here in the UK. I just bought 2 tickets for a 6:30pm showing on the 17th and they were the 4th and 5th tickets sold in the showing.

Yeah myself and a few I have spoken to have no shows sold out near us, im not surprised at my local because its never full.

If The Force Awakens manages to be even HALF as good as Fury Road, it'll EASILY be considered the best Star Wars movie in 35 years. If it's like, 2/3rds as good? People are gonna be arguing whether it or Empire is the best Star Wars movie ever made.
I'm expecting this level of greatness, but with the star wars signature flavor.

Holy crap an OT, it's starting to feel real. A dream come true.

I hate all of you that get to see it before us, I hate you like anakin hates sand.

Does anyone who's gone to Odeon before know how picky they are about Student ID?

Got two tickets for me + friend (both Uni students, at diff unis tho) for Thursday @ Epsom but...he doesn't have an NUS card. I kinda assumed he did. He does have a pass with pic + dob though. Emailed them.

I was too slightly surprised that there seemed to be a lot of seats left in the UK, but my local cinemas are doing about 30 screenings in the first 24 hours EACH, which is pretty much unprecedented, and lots of people will still walk up and buy on the day.

It's also still a working day, being a Thursday. It will get busier over the weekend and the following week as it's xmas week.

Just spoke to a Cineplex rep, this is the schedule for next Thursday's marathon:

Ep1 4:45am
Ep2 7:10am
Ep3 9:40am
Ep4 12:10pm
Ep5 2:20pm
Ep6 4:35pm
Ep7 7pm

Sickkkkkkkkkkk gonna be there at 12 it's gonna be amazing

Did a 13h SW marathon this past weekend with some friends already.

It gets tiresome by the end, but boy, did we make fun of the prequel stuff at the beginning.

Yeah I think he was down in Brisbane as part (or just as a fan) of the press event with Harrison Ford for the movie. The audience got to watch 10 minutes of the film and then Harrison stood up and said not to tell anybody what they just saw.

Hours before Ford appeared on stage at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Fan Event, he gave a smaller group of fans and media an even bigger thrill, appearing unannounced at a preview screening of footage from the film at Darling Harbour’s IMAX Theatre.
At the conclusion of 10 breakneck minutes of footage from the notoriously secretive film, Ford stood up out of his seat. As if by magic, a spotlight hit the actor, who promised the audience that there was plenty more where that came from, and asked us to keep our lips sealed.
“Let’s make a deal — don’t tell your friends what you’ve seen here today.”
