My head tells me someone has to die, but maybe thats not true?

Odds are for me Han, Kylo or Chewie

The moment they announced that they were making a Han Solo movie they gave away the fact that Han will die at some point in this trilogy.
They wont have two different actors plying Han at the same time plus it will ease the pain of his death if they continue the character in a prequel film.

Is episode VIII coming out before the Han solo movie?

Man, maybe I will have to re-watch Episode II tomorrow. I forgot all about the asteroid scene until you guys mentioned it. lol

Makes me excited to hear what Ben Burtt did in Episode VII. Sound wise. He has his sound design take over once every film. I can't wait to hear what it is.

Hopefully not too much. If I recall there was some upset with Episode II and III between Lucas/Burtt/Williams because of how Burtt was prioritizing his sound work to be more up front and loud over Williams score. At least I think thats what it was. I think I remember reading about it on the old MF.com forums before Episode III was released.

I'm slowly working my way through Aftermath, trying to finish by Thursday. I've gotta say, the thing I'm most excited about isn't even really the movie itself at this point (though I'm still vibrating with excitement for it), it's the fact that after this a WHOLE new era will be opened up to us.

So far, we've only had a few things here or there set after ROTJ, and even they kind of play it safe. After this, I hope we see a ton of new EU stuff set in the sequel trilogy era. That's exciting as hell. We're moving into uncharted territory here, people. It's going to be a fun ride.

At least it gave us "Across the Stars" (which, as I usually say, deserved a better love story than the one portrayed on screen) and Natalie Portman in a dominatrix outfit.
Across the Stars is probably one of my top 3 tracks in all of Star Wars.
Its like.
1. Throne Room
. Force Theme(1. RotJ , 2.RotS)
. Across the Stars

Between this movie coming out this week and this being my last week of work before holiday break, this may be one of longest work weeks in recent memory. Thankfully the theater near me gives you your seat when you buy your ticket. No waiting beforehand necessary. Plus it's one of those theaters with tons of room between the reclining seat. Now all I need is this movie to good. Please, oh please be good.

I think I remember the same thing.

That Episode II was rushed, It was like a two year turnaround time. That's why the back-half of the movie has a lot of reused music from TPM. They were re-cutting the 3rd act up until the very end.

Probably why its so terrible.

Wasn't the entire droid factory added in late too? Revenge of the Sith also had some major plot revisions in re-shoots and editing.

Yeah, I wanna say that Droid Factory was shot during Re-shoots. I can't remember where I heard that.

I think on some of the DVD special Features you see Natalie Portman running with everything being on Blue screen.

I said it in the SW OT but after rewatching Episode 1 for the first time in probably 10+ years...
I actually think that would make a darn good prequel season of Clone Wars,
It doesn't work as a movie but as 12+ episodes of that series quality I can actually picture it being really good.

I think it would be quite funny if Disney ended up officially releasing the unaltered, original versions of the OT while simultaneously cleaning up problems in the PT. The PT can never be good, but I think it could be tolerable if things like midichlorians were removed, the sand scene, less focus on Jar Jar, etc.

This gonna make the fan argument for artistic/cultural integrity for the original OT versions incredibly hypocritical though.

Jar Jar and midichlorians aren't even that bad compared to Anakin and Padme. The central relationship (well, arguably second to Obi/Ani) is just so bad; I don't know how you can fix the trilogy when its riding on two terrible performances with terrible material to work with terribly directed. It's rotten at the core.

On the flip side if they somehow redid everything involving those two, I think the resulting films, even with everything else intact, would be exponentially better. I can tolerate the cheese- the originals had it after all- and I actually think the high level plot beats are pretty good. Hell, I even like the idea of following the political scene as a major thread- classic Shakespearean stuff and, given that the fall wasn't just Anakin's but a republic's, it makes sense to touch on it. George had something with the whole modern take on a classic tragedy; he just ruined it with the execution.

Is that the main argument? The updated versions are George's doing- can't really see preserving the originals against his vision is maintaining artistic integrity. I thought the main point is that the originals are just better, and that George's changes betray the integrity of certain characters and their arcs.

get all the Clone Wars people
Make 1 season dealing with just Padme during TPM, second half of the season is focused on fixing AOTC stuff. Heck maybe even a 2nd/3rd CW DTV movie dealing with those things.
2nd season would be Clone Wars season 6 which would finish the stuff already worked on and then cut directly into a retelling of RotS focused 100% on Obi-wan, Anakin and Padme.
Basically alot of the same but expanded upon and better writing to save key moments that can't be altered.

Investing like crazy fixing already released movies won't make sense to Disney.
But as a one-off season to a popular show it has some safty to it, fans of CW would buy/watch it regardless. And maybe you pick up some hardcores that would like that fixing.

CW already fixed Anakin which honestly was the biggest issue of the PT. CW Padme was even pretty good when she had stuff to do.

My stats exam was moved to an hour before my showing. Without stating the obvious, it's even if the exam didn't take me a full hour I can't exactly just show up 5 minutes before it starts and get a seat that isn't the first row.

I emailed my professor requesting to go to the exam time for the 11 AM section of the class. The problem with this is that my section doesn't have the exam until Thursday, whereas the 11 AM section takes it on Monday. That cuts out four days of potential study time.

No idea what to do.

This got a laugh out of me

Interesting quote about the Knights of Ren from Driver

"To their side they are like the beatles"

"To the other side...any terrorist organisation"

From IGNS interview

I started watching the playlist in the OP, but I freaked the fuck out when got to the "Secret" TV spot and they showed a bunch of footage that I've never seen before...

Looks like I'm not ready for anymore Star Wars till the Star Wars comes out. I've just gotta go in as raw as possible.

Oh my god, how am I only now seeing Auralnauts' Jedi Party videos? They start mildly amusing but they get so dumb. I can't believe they kept a whole dumbass story going through it all.

I think after Tattooine the movie basically implodes, aside from the Luke/Vader/Emperor showdown. Considering the cast they had, I consider it the biggest disappointment as it could have been so much more. Instead we get a recycled Death Star, ewoks and way too much time spent with them, the attack on the imperial moon station misses any excitement, Han/Leia are just plot elements instead of carrying the narrative like they did in previous movies, and the destruction of the Death Star seems like a copy of the first one without any real tension...

Gotta agree. Almost every character except luke and vader is wasted. Where empire built upon and expanded the characters Jedi assassinated most of them.

Jedi is a great technical achievement and the throne room/space battle are great. Everything else is a mess.

Despecialized versions of A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back watched, with Return of the Jedi queued up for tomorrow. The hype for Friday is increasing to ludicrous speed.

4 days, its screening tomorrow, rediculous

Blackout starts tues morning when I wake up, spoilers will be everywhere

There isnt one jj confirmed. Thank god.

Wouldn't care if the studio tacked some marketing on on literally post movie.

But no, an in-movie post-credits scene has no business being in Star Wars.

In fact, people who have an expectation that it's a staple of modern moviemaking can't see the water they swim in. It's a Marvel movie technique, or it's people ripping off Marvel.

I flicked onto my local cable channel playing all the films back to back. Unfortunately I missed Episode I. What a shame. Episode III just finished, so IV up next.

This is the only the second time I've watched the prequels, the first being the theatre release. My thoughts are

1. Too many gratuitous flips and acrobatics
2. This universe obviously has no health and safety inspectors

So is Ren a title like Darth? I hope we don't get a new "Ren" every movie like Marvel movies. The biggest mistake of those movies is they waste the villains.

Avengers 2 didnt have one, so it's probably more of a wide used fad
