I was cautiously excited at Abrams' involvement in TFA, but his dedication to bringing things back to basics just sold me even more.
Kasdan's keeping the entire trilogy in check. It's going to be an Abrams movie, with Kasdan making sure the script is tight and works with their overall vision for the trilogy. It's why I'm not all that worried about Johnson and Trevorrow.
Also a big difference is this is Abrams writing, not Kurtzman and Orci.
And Kasdan was directly tied to Abrams throughout the whole thing. It wasn't like they just exchanged emails.
I'm coming into TFA with the expectation of being entertained, and in a way, seeing some old friends again.
