even if you're dead, you go.

Being dead would be preferable to this pain.
It is but two and half hours (maybe?) since i took a strong painkiller and it is starting to hurt again already.
Guess it won't be as strong once the antibiotics kick in properly but that will still take some time.

My only worry honestly.

Wouldn't be shocked if some reviews leak before then or people post their impressions to twitter.

Oh yeah, I fully expect to see Twitter reactions tomorrow morning when I wake up. Nothing with spoilers, but the usual "OMG BEST MOVIE EVER!" sort of stuff.

It is crazy to think that the initial announcement was over three years ago, and we are 3 days away now from seeing the film.

I tried to keep myself from watching the trailers, except for the initial reveal of them, but I just went back and rewatched the main release one. Teared up immediately. Even the Prequel hype, I never had that happen.

It really doesn't feel like 3 years already, it's gone so so fast, but i'm glad we're finally only 3 days away from seeing it haha

I still cannot believe that
Han made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs
.
Thats some Fast n Furious level shit in space!

Just checking out RT page for this movie;

Damn the ads placement for this movie is through the roof.

Well, i figure the antibiotics will have helped by Wednesday, meaning the painkiller will probably last through the film, if i take it before it.
(Or i can take an even stronger one, though the doctor/dentist recommended it only when going to sleep.)

Got a rotten luck really.

Why is there a spoiler thread when the movie is still a week away?
The entire movie leaked months ago. The full shot list leaked back in the spring, a very very detailed shot by shot description has been out there. So all of those who read it can basically discuss the entire plot of the movie almost as if we saw it already.

What fun is that? :(

Yea it's best to ignore the hyperbole on both sides lol. There will be plenty of "BEST MOVIE EVER" or "OMG THIS MOVIE SUCKS HOW COULD THEY RUIN THIS AGAIN"

lmaoo. For me just give me a good run journey will some emotion and I'm fine. I don't need my mind fucked by some shocking twist. Just give me a visual orgasm and fun movie.

I'm already seeing the divisiveness on social media, solely based on Abrams writing and directing.

So, you can bet TFA is going to get ripped to shreds by one part of the fanbase, much like the Trek fanbase ripped apart Trek 2009.

Maybe I'm not so much of an enthusiast but damn I can't believe people like that. Literally ripping apart a movie you haven't seen

I'm seeing it wednesday and took a day off thursday. No way in hell am I sitting at my boring work desk the day after I've seen Star Wars.

... instead, I'll be sitting at home to post about it

I kind of hope the leaked stuff is all fake and leaked by JJ, I know people spent hrs dissecting everything and getting information from good sources, but imagine JJ planned all of it? What if the real thing is worse than the leak?

No matter who did the movie it will always have been decisive. You cant please everyone with a franchise like this. As long as its not an abomination like the PT, I think the majority will be happy.

Not happening. The trailers, TV spots and info released by Lucasfilm align with the leaked material apparently.

Yeah, I'm sure HC fans will rip it regardless of how good it is. But from what we've seen, this could be OT quality, and that much excites me very much. Could be one of the best SW movies ever.

Exactly a fandom this big you can't please everyone. You'll also have people hating for the sake of it just because it's so popular and loved.

Exactly my point lol.

No matter what I feel I'm going to enjoy this movie. I'm going to have fun. Unless these people can't act to save their lives I'm like 90% sure I'll enjoy the fuck outta this movie.

I think if you just expect to enjoy the film it will be very easy to. I agree. Back to SW basics :)

So I took my 900 showing tickets and returned them for a 230 showing at the mall by me. Reserved seating too! Got last row in the corner but still good.

Still not bad. I like taking aisle seats when the middle seats or the last row aren't available.

That's the fandom for you. The enthusiasm is great, but it can also be so toxic at times.

I loved Star Trek 2009. While a lot of people liked it, others just picked it apart - small things like Abrams' lens flares and style, or bigger things like the idea of the alternate universe. Essentially, Trek purists who don't want "sexy"/Star Wars in their Star Trek.

So weird to think I could be seeing this tomorrow night. I've got tickets with some friends for Saturday evening though, and honestly I'm mostly excited about seeing it with them and a good crowd. If the movie's great that's just icing on the cake.

That's all I'm here for man. Of course the story needs to be competent as well, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I'm already getting giddy like a kid again.

Same. I think it will be MUCH easier to sit back and enjoy this time around, knowing, from what we've seen and heard, the story/characters will be absolutely solid. No need to TRY to enjoy it since they'll be no taxation disputes/trade federations. Just good old action and adventure with classic storytelling.

I don't see it being as bad, as I feel Abram's sensibilities align more with Stars Wars than Star Trek. Of course, the script could derail things, which isn't out of the question for Abrams.

You know, I like these two a lot.

Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the film while it's in theaters. Have they announced the Blu-ray release date yet? Quick Google search brought up April as a possibility?

He's got Kasdan to keep him in check, along with lots of other people around him. If you listen to/watch interviews, JJ seems very thoughtful and humble, which is a damn refreshing change.

People are going to rip the movie no matter what, even if the movie is perfect there will be a loud vocal minority complaining about something. I'm glad I'm not jaded when it comes to movie and can turn my brain off for mindless fun.

I have tickets to the 3D IMAX showing on Thursday at 10:20. I'm going to show up about an hour early since it isn't assigned seating so I can try to get the best seat possible. Pretty damn pumped. I just hope it's a good crowd and not a bunch of annoying, cell phone using jerks.

I've caught a bastard cold from someone who thought it would be a good idea to come for a night out with one. I don't even care about being ill but if I have to sit there blowing my nose through the entire film then I'm going to blow my fucking lid!

Cunt!

Having standards isn't a bad thing.

You shouldn't have to "turn your brain off" to enjoy a movie.

I was cautiously excited at Abrams' involvement in TFA, but his dedication to bringing things back to basics just sold me even more.

Kasdan's keeping the entire trilogy in check. It's going to be an Abrams movie, with Kasdan making sure the script is tight and works with their overall vision for the trilogy. It's why I'm not all that worried about Johnson and Trevorrow.

Also a big difference is this is Abrams writing, not Kurtzman and Orci.

And Kasdan was directly tied to Abrams throughout the whole thing. It wasn't like they just exchanged emails.

I'm coming into TFA with the expectation of being entertained, and in a way, seeing some old friends again.

I managed to get that out of the way last week. Would have been really annoying watching the film in that state.

Right, and the important thing is that JJ is absolutely receptive and collaborative in his film making process (at least from what we've seen with SW). He cares more about making a good movie than his own isolated vision. That's why I think it's going to be a fantastic experience.
