Honest trailers should do an honest trailer about how long winded and generally not funny honest trailers are. It really is hard to get through them.

I think you confused Honest Trailers with Everything Wrong With.

Eek! Forbes' SW box office prediction

I predict massive meltdowns and possibly rioting in the street if Star Wars doesn't beat that piece of trash Jurassic World at the box office

there are WAY more screenings at my local theatres for Star Wars than JW, though

honestly shocked it didn't beat out twilight or Jurassic world in theatre count

I don't think many would be surprised if it doesn't. December openings are always tougher due to people travelling and shopping during the holidays. It'll smash the current Dec record but the OW was always a big question mark. However, I expect it'll have great legs over the next month

People don't actually give a shit about box office right?
Never put it past people to get emotionally attached to the weirdest things

I love following the box office and looking at the numbers and patterns but I could give a shit which movies break which records. The only thing I actually root against is terrible films making bank because it means there will be more of them

Pretentious? They are just having a bit of fun. They even do it for movies they enjoy.

Fair enough, pretentious might not be the right word, but there's something cynical to me about making fun of stuff on Youtube. It's nothing inherently evil, but I can't tally up how many other things are worth my time more. Like arguing on GAF.

There IS a lot of stuff like that out there though, I'll give you that. And I'm not a fan of it either.

it looks like a completely different character, just the same race. Look at the mouth and jaw structure, and top of head. How'd this happen?

So according to the Spotify thread, I'm a First Order Stormtrooper. Not sure what to think about being a Space Nazi. Playlist is mostly good tho

I'm Leia. Like I said in the other thread, I didn't realize I listened to a lot of dance pop. But that's all good.

I'd suggest first getting to know your bride before marriage. ;)

We're in complete fantasy land here anyway, so for me

Padme is the only character as disappointing in the PT as Anakin and deserves to be wiped from existence

Leia probably fucks like a wild animal but would probably never be happy married

and Rey we don't know yet but there's only one other option and the other two are pretty much set

Best Luke. I don't really understand it when people say he was less interesting when he became a Jedi.

I always found Luke annoying in ANH or ESB then ROTJ turned around and made him my fave character of the bunch.

ESB Leia lacks the bun hair but that's the only reason that costume isn't no. 1.

Meh.. every movie in history has been criticized. I've seen 30% movies on RT and liked them, and 95-98 movies and hated them. Even if TFA reinvented the SW wheel, people would hate it because it's too much like the PT or OT, or not enough like either and/or. People just love to be critics and feel smart/important in their own thought processes.

Won't stop me from loving it (assuming it's as good as I think it is).

people confuse RT with how good a movie is. All it tells you is what percentage of CRITICS liked it. And liking it is a low bar. It can be good, but flawed (it 2.5 out of 4, etc)

I think as it approaches the lower and upper bounds, the public probably moves away (ie, a higher percentage of the public will like a lower rated movie than critics, and lower percentage of the public will like a top 5 percentile of RT).

So yeah, 30% of critics liked a movie you liked, you're in the minority, but that doesn't seem strange.

Just like 95-98% movies have a group that doesn't like them.

It's why the freshness bar appears to be set low, when it really isn't. If 50% of critics liked a movie in a genre or series you really like, chances are you might like it too.
