MeowwwFate has chosen to have my cat wake me up at 3:30am just in time to watch the reviews spill in. The force is strong with her
To be honest, I'm just happy it's better than the prequels....at least from the reviews and scores I'm seeing. As someone who watched episode IV in theaters back in '77, I just wanted another movie that brought me back to that universe and reminded me why I love Star Wars. The prequels were a huge letdown for me personally...they just didn't capture that same feeling the original movies did. Even if TFA was just a good movie, not great, but it managed to capture the essence, the feel of those original movies, while telling a whole new story, I'd be perfectly happy.
For one, It'd be teenagers. That's similar to what Zaki Hassan was saying months ago. That renewed confidence among the fanbase is what Disney is gunning for with Force Awakens -- perhaps moreso than ticket returns. It doesn't need to be great, just decent. As long as it's "decent", the franchise will be off to an optimistic start.
Here's a what if scenario I posit to gaffers on this board. What would happen if Lucas hadn't sold to Disney but had announced episode VII and beyond to be directed and written by him. How different would this film had been? How would the news be received? Would the cast be different? Would the castmembers who signed on have lobbied to land their roles under Lucas' direction? What would the world premiere be like in comparison to what took place last night, etc? I was intrigued when I read that Andy Serkis and Max Von Sydow had been cast, and was even more relieved when I learned that the main leads were over the age of 21.
Just dropped to 98%. RIP perfection.
saturday. saturday 12:05 I'll be in mannheim watching the movie.
can't wait ;_;
If it's good please come to the paradeplatz and let everybody know. Most probably i'll be be there with my wife drinking hot wine (Christmas shopping break).
Going to watch it later on Saturday.
Hype deflated, tickets canceled.
So, I'll just walk over the paradeplatz screaming like a maniac how the movie was? mhh..let me check with my fiancée if she thinks that's a good idea and if she wants to do that lol..
Going by the reviews, you'll be getting that.Daisy Ridley just needs to have a great performance and I'll be fine. Boyega too.
1.5 hour left!
Time until Aiii gets to see SW ep.7:

Hype just blew me up GAF.......pull me back!!! I'm taking off and need to be here for the movie Saturday but I'm taking off!!!
RT rating is meaningless. It's just a (skewed) measure of critical consensus, not the actual quality of the movie.
Keep your hype in check and you can't be dissapointed.
Top Critic so probably a decent review. Will read.Rotten review number 2 inc.
Average review score up to 8.6 though. (was 8.3 back when dropped from 100%)
Well that would at least make an amazing "look how two gaffers met" thread..If she loves you, she'll join. Then me and my wife will join. The police will arrest us. I won't be able to see the movie on saturday and go crazy.
Yeah probably you're right, on second thought not a brilliant idea.
I remember Hayden Christensen being my favorite from the PT back in the day. But I rewatched the second half of Revenge of the Sith last night and he had some bad acting at places.good new for you, many of the reviews I have read stated specifically that she is spectacular. The highlight of the film.
Yes folks, its seems we do not have a Hayden Christensen 2.0 on our hands.
