I honestly expected Sisters to have a better RT score. I love Star Wars but I didn't expect anything that high.

I hope this doesn't overhype people. The film definitely has flaws from what I hear but it is a good movie.

Just saw it. No spoilers. I thought it was great, booked tickets 12h ago and just got out of the theater. I'm happy about a lot of things they did right and while the movie is by no means perfect it was well worth paying the expensive ticket price for.

You should include ranking.

Holy shit, 99% and 8.6/10 RT score after 96 reviews!

6 hours to go.

My prediction as to where this will rank for me, just from my gut feeling:

1. V
2. IV
3. VII
4. VI
5. III
6. II
7. I

Chris Stuckmann's spoiler-free review has me thoroughly hyped. (Don't watch if you want to go in completely clean, obviously). Guy is a SW fan, but one that can be reasonable about it (which is just like most of us, I guess), so to hear him so positive about it... Yay.

Walked out of cinema just now. Huh, don't spoil yourself guys, go in and enjoy it. If you have some non-spoiler question and don't wanna go to spoiler thread to ask them, I'm free.

Oh that kind of a ranking. Not sure as I just saw it and haven't had time to decompress but it would definitely be up there with the original trilogy for me. So if my top three previously was 5,4,6 then 7 could potentially bump one or maybe two of them down. Although I didn't experience those as they came out like many gaffers probably did. I'm "only" 23.

Light spoilers (setting/landscape, not plot):

I love snow as a setting in movies and games and this movie pushed those snowy buttons in just the right way.

Spoiler has someone increased my hype levels beyond what I previously thought possible. That is literally my favorite thing.

I'll hide my answer so people can choose to read it, no spoilers though.
How much of the music is new?
It's tough to say, score was sort of on the background and I didn't notice it too much. Music did have bunch of references to old soundtracks though. 50% new? maybe? New parts mixed with old many times.

Ok thanks for the answer.
So it's more of an evolution of the old soundtrack with some new stuff.

Just got out of the theatre, writing a more extensive review when I get home, but I loved it! I'd say Empire has a slight edge over it, but I can honestly say this might be the second best. Abrams really nailed it!

Will follow later with the review, spoiler free of course ;)

My last work day before my marathon. The reviews are exactly what I wanted and expected. A mixture of good and great but brimming with the energy of the OT. The king is back.

This thread is making me so happy! New Star Wars films one can enjoy without having to make excuses for them. I've been worried to see it in fear it's just going to further dilute Star Wars for me, but now I'm going to the theater without much worries. Thanks, guys!

A question to anyone who has seen this already. Is the movie titled Episode VII in the opening crawl, or have they dropped that designation altogether as part of the Disney rebranding? And if so, is it due to the potential influx of Star Wars films from this point forward, or as a tacit removal of any linkage to the prequels?

Speaking of Disney rebranding, what has replaced the Fox fanfare? Any sign of the Disney logo? Not that it's a make or break thing, I'm just curious.

Don't click on the spoiler thread by accident. Actually screen shots (potato cam) of key scenes of the movie are up.

I have lived in the spoiler thread and even that was a bit much for me.

Episode VII is in the opening crawl. I think the removal of Episode VII from the branding is more to do with trying to attract new fans, without putting them off by making them think they have to watch six films first. The filmmakers have stressed people could just jump in with this film as it's a new trilogy with new characters.
