I recently got a pre-paid CC just for Steam, PSN and so on. People were laughing at me saying that I'm paranoid. I added the CC as a payment option to Steam about 3-4 hours ago, had dinner, came back, saw this thread, checked my CC:

Its meant that training people in third-party has taken longer than we expected, explained Johnson. It bugs us, but it is what it is. We think well have the support wait time down to an acceptable point by Christmas time. Thats our goal. Its a function of training up more and more people answer customer issues. Were not there yet. Its getting better internally; its just that it hasnt yet translated to great support for users. Were gonna get there, though.
This thread is hilariousI'm sure you have never spent money on an intangible product, especially one made up of 1s and 0s.

I guess it is time to find out if they actually met their set date for this.

That's probably your local browser cache.![]()
Nope its not, just used ccleaner and clear evertything through chrome...still showing a mexican guy page
Jesus Christ I'm screwed
I have a Steam account from years back, but it's using my girlfriend's gmail, and because I don't remember her login, it won't let me connect (as I need a code sent to her gmail)
I have no idea whether I left my credit card info on there or not, but I tend to fuck everything up so I probably did
I really hope I don't get a Christmas "present"
Real life personal information is more important than a few games. You can't "un-leak" the information. On the other hand you will regain access to the games and i assume all transactions will be reversed when everything is fixed. That wasn't the argument at all. It was a question of one thing being more important than another.
Don't run into a burning building even if you're worried.People are worried about their account and/or purchase details?
Except we did. Nice try though.
I guess only disclosing 1 out of 3 extremely personal things isn't too bad. Bravo Valve!
Bought, something that I'd never buy, I guess the other guy did this by accident.Do you own the bought game on your account or was it gifted?
Who are you talking about? I'm only seeing people who are pissed that Valve gave their details out to a bunch of random people. It really shouldn't have happened.I'm not saying what happened isn't bad, but what I am saying is some individuals are going on the extreme hate valve spree. They're just as bad as the apologists.
Also in the UK were had that many data breach leaks, everyone knows everyone now lol.

You should be safe if you haven't logged in for a while, since apparently the only pages showing up are people who checked their details, which was cached, and then 'viewable' by others.

So when comparing temporary loss of access to games vs the information leak. The leak is the more important of the two.
The total silence from Valve is not making them look that great here. Especially when the dirty laundry is still in front of everyone's eyes, in the form of cached search pages.
i just looked at someone's account using google's cache..
sigh..

crawlers having a field day right nowSo accounts are STILL viewable through search engines? Yeah, I'm sure that is not being abused at all.
I can't even check or change anything because nothing will load. 'error communicating with the servers'. ugh
On your Steam profile page, next to your name, there's a little arrow with opens a drop down menu with all your previous screen names. Is there any way to clear this? My account name is one of them, and I know I'm probably being a tad paranoid, but I'd love to see it removed.
What's this Steamgames.com website?
