Steam Winter Sale ARG?

The ARG may be about finding the Borealis?

The Borealis was known to be in an Arctic location

There is a game on steam called Borealis. I wouldn't be surprised if the ARG stuff leads to its store page in some way.

The witch hunt has had some interesting selections so far. Hitman, Grim Fandango, Undertale, Ikaruga. Such a weird selection of games. Valve is definitely up to something crazy.

Edit: Oh god one of the tags on the Borealis page is also Bullet Hell lol.

Valve don't do this to us if it's nothing to do with Half-Life. I can't take it any more. It's been more than 8 years since Episode Two!

HOLY SHIT!

If this is actually a fucking ARG about Half-Life FUCKING 3 I know already that 2016 will be the best fucking year for videogames since last year!
HL3 alone would totally be enough for me if it came this year.
Best selling PC title of all time confirmed already.

I am getting a bit too hyped for this, am I?

That Half-Life 3 connection seems like a pretty big fucking stretch. "The candy canes look like crowbars". They look like candy canes always have.

The Arctic thing is the only close association and even that's a bit of a stretch considering the comic's theme is Christmas/Santa/Elves, and thus thematically sensible to place in the Arctic.

Yeah he edited in a few things after I posted that I don't really believe, like the whole story being a parallel to HL3 being released etc.

But the Lambda symbol being found in the background? That was placed intentionally and is a pretty big clue imo

Possible ARG reveal spoiler:

1. Go to Ikaruga's Steam store page in Firefox/Chrome.
2. Type "search" and press enter. You don't need to type it into a box.
3. In the dialogue that pops up, type "1v7531" then click OK.
4. You now have the secret Red Herring ARG? badge.

This has already been known for a few days now.
The badge is definitely a red herring.

What about the Half Life logo?

Yeah the extremely tiny and pixelly lambda looking logo is a bit odd. But I dunno. I do think in situations like this people have a tendency to see what they want to see.

Not that I'm not excited though. I fucking love Valve ARGs and had no idea this was going on.

I will never not need to still my dear beating heart
