For me it comes down to interest level. If a game really interests me I will pay more for it early on. A game like Rise of the Tomb Raider will probably grab my interest at around $15-$20 whereas other games I wait until they are at the $5 price range. To me its not really an entitlement issue or anything. Its just economics. Some games just aren't worth $60 to me.

I know how to play risk, metal gear risk goes nuts with all of the extra elements to it. The units arent the same denominations, there's outer heaven, along with a bunch of other stuff. I bought it thinking it was just risk with MGS pieces. It's basically a whole new game.
 
Risk is cool and it looks like this version more closely matches the board game. For those (like me) that have played the board game to death, I wholeheartedly recommend Risk Factions which is a fun twist on the game and has quite a bit more depth to it.

My friend recently got Settlers of Catan: Star Trek. It plays similar to the regular version, but there's a new mechanic. Support, where you get 1 character card and each character has a special ability that you can activate one per turn to help you. You get two activation, then you have to discard it and draw a new one. OR you could activate it once and then discard it, draw a new one. So you have characters like Kirk, Spock, McCoy and so on.

It add an interesting element to the game, but otherwise it's exactly like regular Settlers.

It's a doujin shmup, made by Orange Juice and localized by Fruitbat Factory. They're best known for the party game 100% Orange Juice, which uses characters from all their other games (including this one).
