It can be the safest or most dangerous move so long as its done properly.
tbh I would prefer to have the move banned than have it kicked out of in some relatively meaningless IC match or something.
Styles Clash should stay over as a 1 hit kill like it is now (AJ kicked out of it once when Tana used it in the G1 but that was a super special moment)
Yeah, fuck Nakamura and his meaningless IC title. How dare he kick out of the most devastating wrestling finisher ever made.
First thing WWE is going to do to AJ: get rid of the Styles Clash.
This is awesome.
It totally reminds me of this:

Hopfully all 4 of them will be big stars.
I doubt it, RIP
Okada was Okato in TNA...I guess the bright side is that it'll discourage other top level Japanese wrestlers, like Okada, from ever following suit.
In retrospect, they should have loaned all of their talent out to TNA for foreign jobber duty.Sending Okada to TNA was the best thing NJPW could have done to ensure that he'd never want to wrestle for a US promotion full time.
You know what they did with KANA, where she is basically just KANA transplanted to the US but named Asuka instead? Do that with Nakamura (preferably without the name change but it's not a dealbreaker).

I think she's more like a slighly meaner, Japanese version of Baylee. I've never seen Kana smile so much and act silly before she made it to NXT. Now she's like a demented kid in a candy store in the ring. It's a bit odd seeing her that way.
Just look up, not down.
Really not that complicated, just don't tuck your damn chin and you're good.
Exactly. Which makes the hate for the move in this thread and in some other circles incredibly stupid.
So long as you don't pull a Kazarian, you'll be perfectly fine.
I think the problem is that a lot of wrestlers tuck their chin out of habit because they are so used to doing that for other moves.
How is Nakamura's english anyway?

It's a trademark thing. What is the WWE's rationale for changing established wrestler's names when they come over? Is it one of those things where the WWE wants to own the names and characters and stuff like that? I'd certainly be bummed Shinsuke gets the Kenta/Kana treatment, especially given Shinsuke being one of, if not the, biggest name in NJPW.
Worst part about all of this is it seems that they are going to skip NXT. So we won't even get 3 months of awesomeness out of Syles/Nakamura.
Is it worth the risk, though? It's easier said than done.
You and I may understand how to take the move. Wrestlers that actually have experience may understand how to take the move but things in the moment unfortunately happen.
Well he is ex-WCW to be fair. I remember loving him there. I never saw any of his TNA stuff.Probably 90% of why this deal is even happening. AJ just wants to have 1 run in WWE while he is able. Both parties have talked before but never reached a deal. Now is probably the last shot.
I am happy he has one go even if he will probably be treated like ex WCW guys were.
Why wait? Have him job to Cena in his debut match like so many US open challenge victims. So many up and comers got a boost from taking a L to Cena in that one right. RIGHT?
But I do feel for any talent who will be working on the main roster inthe foreseeable future. WWE creative has nothing for anyone bar Cena and Reigns. Everyone else is interchangeable pawns to them.
Why do people think they are skipping NXT?
Balor and Joe were in the exact same position and they've been in NXT for a while. Big time free agents. Old (34 and 36, AJ and Nak aren't much older). I'm not sure what Joe's situation is, but I know Balor was making a ton in New Japan. WWE is paying him very well... to stay on NXT. He's making main roster money on NXT.
This is WWE. They don't always do things that make sense. In this case, that might actually be a good thing. I think AJ and Nakamura will spend time at NXT at least for a few months.
If you're going to go that route, then a lot of basic pro wrestling moves can go wrong in very similar ways, so they should just end up doing strikes, submissions, vertical suplexes, and body slams. Everyone should just have the default create-a-wrestler movelist, just to play it safe.

They have to, that move is inherently dangerous.
Let's be fair. We don't know the terms of their contract.
It's not a lot of wrestlers. He's been using that move for a decade and a half, and you can count the amount of times that it went wrong in that way on one hand.
Nakamura going straight to the main roster would be a big mistake.
AHAHAHHAHAHA LOOK AT NAKAMURA HE'S TWERKIN MAGGLE! HE JUST WANTS TO HAVE FUN!!
You're right. I can't disagree with any of that.
I don't know, I guess to make a long story short: I never really liked the move. I feel the same way about Joe's Muscle Buster which in my opinion should stay in wrestling games/cartoons.
Meltzer doesn't know shit.If those dummies would just stop tucking their chins, it wouldn't be a problem.

Nakamura does speak English actually. Not fluently but enough that he can speak in it, unlike Asuka or Itami.
He's 6'2, fairly unusually tall for a Japanese wrestler these days. Taller than Cena and about as tall as Reigns, which will probably help him overall.
With the timing I guess it would make sense for them to debut at the Rumble. Would they bring them out for the Rumble then immediately send them back to NXT?
Just wait
WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES, MAGGLE
I'm pretty sure it's been done before. Rusev appeared in the Rumble one year then went back to NXT.
The Rumble would be a great way to debut AJ just to get that pop and make him seem like a big deal... ignoring the fact that will certainly get eliminated.
I'm pretty sure they even talk shit about NXT, let alone outside promotions. I seem to recall some women's dialogue along the lines of "This isn't NXT, this is the big leagues!"
Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Just wait
WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES, MAGGLE
I think AJ was making 325k before he left TNA. I think it is safe to assume he made more working NJPW and indy dates. I'm sure the WWE paid him a grip more as well to jump ship.
JBL having a job makes no sense to me; like he throws shade at the dudes they're trying to get over.
