Especially after what Spencer (rightfully) said a few months ago about console wars, it really is disappointing he, Greenberg, Ybarra and other Microsoft guys still regularly interact with these racist and homophobic console warriors on Twitter, invite them to Xbox events and so on and so forth.

I get they can't vet everyone they interact with but with these guys it's hardly a secret. They should be smarter than that, there's a PR disaster just waiting to happen.

I'm pretty sure Spencer made a statement once that he too was repulsed by the ultra-warriors.

I don't know...i would assume not. We only know of MS paying people to talk positively about XB1 early on after all.

Spencer and other MS bigwigs also talk and invite these guys to their events directly via twitter. It would be one thing if they didn't really interact with them personally, but the mouthpieces do as well, and that's no good.

A quick look at his twitter after it was linked in this thread shows that Greenberg sent him a Banjo-Kazooie backpack, but I didn't want to stay on there long enough. Some stuff said on there is absolutely ridiculous.

What black bond is a PC fanboy and former Nintendo fan. Don't know how you pegged him for a Sony fanboy. More of a Nintendo troll than a sony fan. Don't think he likes any sony made game and trashes their hardware.

I really hope they don't. I'd feel disgusted if Sony extended any olive branches to swine like that.

Who knows, we are talking about corporations after all. Astroturfing is not only going to be for MS or Nintendo or Sony. I don't doubt Sony have done it at many points, even if they haven't recently.

What we do know is that Sony is cosying up to GAF a lot because of the PS4 leaning Gaf has in this gen, as opposed to MS's team who got laughed out of here with their "we invented directX" talk prior to the launch of the consoles. So i guess MS feels they need someone with a microphone, no matter how insular.

I guess Phil Spencer wasn't being completely honest. I mean, maybe he was saying the right things for a PR statement but as we all know, dishonesty has happened as well.

What really fucking bothers me is that there are other Youtube gamers who are generally more down to earth, may have a certain platform preference and aren't fucking fanboys about it but they DON'T get these special invites like this mothafucker got. Fuck.

I doubt they are worried at all about a poor January in the US. February(Street Fighter 5) and April(Uncharted 4) will most likely be very good months at $349.

$299 during the holiday was a just a great strategic move to counter to Xbox One. It worked now they go back nice profits.

They technically could if the gap were to keep growing, but the backlash would be most severe. GTA 6 will release on both platforms simultaneously with -possibly- the marketing rights granted to Sony...

Also, they can still go to $300 with no game at any time, and it lowers the bar for consumers while being a mostly lateral move for them.

i could definitely see them getting marketing rights for whatever it's worth. they kinda had it with gta5 didn't they? with the black friday tlour/gta5r bundle?

but yeah. if rotr caused an uproar, just imagine what would happen with gta6. even though at its breakthrough point the game started off as timed playstation exclusives. what do you mean by "technically" btw?

My understanding was that SCE was making most of their money on software and PSN+. You have to remember more customers means more software and PSN+ subs.

Cerny did say their console can become profitable quickly, so 299 wouldn't mean SCE is going to be losing money.

Bundle rights is all they need, ps2 exclusives where due to console install base rather than Sony paying for rights. Gta is too big to be negotiating anything now. What Sony could do is fund an exclusive rockstar game, this is the generation of dreams, maybe Agent comes back.

Regardless I think just with uncharted Sfv, ff15 and GTsport, Sony will sell more hardware in 2016.
