First it was me bullying you in every thread. And now I am a part of a gang of bullies. This story gets better every time you post. Please continue. I like a good sob story.

With wukong it just meant that it's not a "real" hit like souls games because it's chinese buying their national game.
Countries who don't have a lot of hits of their own, really celebrate when they release something good.
It's real people but not real indication of game quality or success.
Both in case of wukong and stellar blade it doesn't matter a lot though
Red dead redemption 1 and 2 cant be called successes because it's mostly americans buying their national game.

I don't hate videogames man, I just hate you personally, fervently and unconditionally. :lollipop_content:

I point out clear narrative.
it is what it is.

rdr2 is too big.
But if you take witcher 1 for example, of course it sold great in Poland. Like 1 million copies.
Does not mean the game was great or it was a success globally. Just means that polish people were like "wow a polish game" and it sold great there

I could believe it since it not only did over 1 million in 3 days but it's been on the top seller for awhile like the first 3 weeks and just recently fell down.

And sales were picking up even on PS as the review count went very quick again, faster than Rebirths review count increase at least.

I could even believe this game reaching over 5 million copies sold by the end of 2025.

it is what it is.

Work on your introspection my man. How you see yourself on this forum isn't reflecting reality. In the vast majority of cases, you are the aggressor and people are reacting to your bullshit. No one is bullying you. That's the clear narrative here.

And Sony is an idiot making games like Concord or The Last of Us Factions.

How is TLOU Factions a bad game? You remember that Factions was a really popular mode in the first TLOU right?

Concord deserves no right in being compared to what would've been an actual good GAAS if Bungie didn't kill it due to suboptimal (in Bungie's eyes) monetization model.

Steam sales estimates are practically always overinflated.

I wouldnt be too sure of that. Looking at it now, it's near the bottom of the top 30 on Steam best sellers. Will be impossible to confirm one way or another for now though.

Is that Steam placing region-specific?

I am aggressor only to you and those other folks because I go against your fanboy narratives.
All there is to it.
You dont agree to me, so I am an aggressor.
All you and these other guys do is laugh emoji react to my posts. that's all you are capable of.

This is simply no longer the forum it once was.

I've just seen people say this about the game in a bad way. Same shit with Wukong.

Guess I haven't seen those takes. Think it is fine to say a game is popular due to China buying Chinese games. Many games have regional popularity. If someone is saying a game being popular primarily in other regions means those sales don't count then that's obviously a bad take. Not sure that's what is being said here, but I'll let him clarify if he chooses.

I am aggressor only to you and those I disagree with

If you go reddit, a lot of people try to downplay this game and wukong, as a "asian gooner game" in the case of stellar blade.

You're not a victim Rofif, you make outlandish statements and constantly antagonise other users and then cry when they bite back

Stop crying on a videogame forum dude.

Yeah, the sales numbers are an estimate based on the number of Steam User Reviews (never CCU, only villains do that) and multiplying by x40'ish.
Personally I go with x36 which gives a conservative 1.77M w/ 49,207 reviews. Every time a developer gives a sales number I'm there making a back of the napkin calculation and it's often just below x40 in my experience. Give it a 10% margin of error and you have a decent estimate, because it's fucking statistics.

Now that I think about it, a publisher like Devolver with its diverse output of games and sales data should easily be able to create a super accurate model capable to taking more factors into account.

Yea, Factions was great in TLOU1. So if Factions 2 was exactly like Factions 1 just with prettier graphics, that alone is already better than Concord.

Finally got around to trying the demo. I guess I wrote it off as only appealing in a booba gamer type of way. Holy shit this game is amazing! Probably going to end up in my top 3 for the year. Korea and China are really the brightest spots in the near future of gaming

I think the problem lies in assuming that people are purchasing blindly rather than purchasing a game they want because it is more specifically aimed at them.
Its the modern audiences trope - but true.
Ne Zha 2 is a 96% on rotten tomatoes and is by far the biggest movie of the year but most of us probably haven't even thought of watching it because we aren't the target audience.

I think we can all agree Stellar Blade is probably doing very well on PC, whether it sold 2 million or not.

I know, I'm very brave for posting that. No need to thank me, I'm just doing a hero's doody.

Copies sold: 2M (1.1 - 2.8M)
Owners: 2.3M
calculating-puzzled.gif
Owners: Estimated number of Steam users who own the game. This number may be inflated due to giveaways, bundles, free weekends etc.

Copies sold: Estimated number of owners who purchased the game directly on Steam. This does not include key-activated units.

Basically, copies sold do not include anything bought off a key reseller, or claimed as part of a bundle.

because everyone is lying? Do you believe everything some fool tweets?
I am just fact checking. I am always fact checking these bullshit tweeter "this game sold x"
NOBODY KNOWS. These numbers are straight outta ass

You accused Mat Piscatella from NPD of lying because you didn't like that he was saying a game sold more on PC than PS5.

SteamDB reports 2 million owners... so the 2 million owners is some bullshit? What?
The sales/owners numbers in both the tweet in the OP (data is from Gamalytic) and in steamdb (data if from PlayTracker, VG Insight or -even if doesn't match the number on their page- Gamalytic) are just estimations. None of them are oficial sales numbers from Steam, Sony or Shift Up.

Sony and Shift Up said some time ago it sold 2M in PS5 and 1M in PC. So the PC version should be now somewhere between 1.1M and 347529075479023907472 trillion copies.

Maybe the Gamalytic diference between their page and Steamdb is because one may count the demo and the other don't.
