Oh, I didn't read this bullet point
  • Collector’s Edition eGuide Included Updated for one year!
A frame data app would be more useful tbh

FREE Mobile-Friendly eGuide - Enjoy all the content from our printed strategy guide in a convenient, easy-to-use, web-access companion. Plus, this eGuide will be updated to include frame rate data, game changes, and the first season* of DLC.

That's good, I guess.

Don't know why Capcom doesn't use GGPO like Raising Thunder. At worst it was just slow downs while I've seen the FPS going down to 1 in SF5 against someone on the PS4. it just needs to be better than SF4, that's all I'm asking Capcom.
a) GGPO has to be licensed
b) GGPO and 3D engines apparently causes a lot of resource issues due to the way GGPO is implemented.

KI's "trick" to making the game smoother (it's running faster than 60 FPS behind the scenes when it comes to inputs) is something GGPO doesn't do, IIRC.

well probably doesn't help if matchmaking isn't doing its job. i shouldn't be matched with people outside my region if i select 5 bars only.

is there going to be a region option available?

Exactly. Even GGPO is terrible with bad connection, so it's really up to the matchmaking to find someone with a decent ping.

Really feeling the netcode for SF V. It's been generally better with each new beta phase except for the rare terrible connection.

Soul crushing to wake up and see I missed it again.
Shit dude. I have you on my PSN friendslist. I can shoot you a message whenever the beta comes back online. I do that to folks on my friendslist who play SFV to let them know its back on. Best if you have the PS app on your phone so you get alerts on it also.

Opposite for me. Phase 1 was almost flawless (after the initial fail) and just progressively got worse and worse. Phase 3 wasn't bad but I had a lot of jittery matches.

GGPO doesn't do it, but that's just a base engine feature you can add, it has nothing to do with using or not using rollback netcode.

Arguably you could say that what the game engine has to be capable of to accommodate rollbacks makes it easier to support tricks like that, but at the end of the day it's just a change like Blazblue's buffer for normals being aimed towards making netplay easier.

So... I'm a bit confused as to the status of the beta... is there an official beta starting soon or is it just random stress tests in the middle of the night (in EU)?

I think people will like it in the beginning because it's the opposite of SF4. But then it will tire on people in matches if they play a zoner or weaker rush down character and have to end the game.

Higher scaling when closer to death
Magic pixel
No chip kills

that's pretty much your comeback mechanic tbh
