I've done a little digging and I think I have the answer to what's going on with Sarah Palin.

It seems that back in 2008, she made a blood pact with a demon in exchange for fame and fortune. The details are scarce, but apparently her end of the bargain left her reliving the worst night of her life (election night 2008) for the rest of eternity, unable to comprehend that time has since moved forward. That's why she's still spouting those tired punchlines and catchphrases: She doesn't realize they're old as fuck.
