So if magic can hurt your party members what about summons like ramuh? it should kill them lol!

unless they change the cutscene and ramuh carry everyone.
 
I liked the voices in English Duscae except Prompto, who sounded very slapstick cartoon. That said I'm also glad they are evening out Noctis' voice too.

You know this how? We never heard anything about Stella and Noctis knowing each other as children, but that has always been the case with Luna. When 2013 trailer came out, we were all confused as to how Noctis and Stella were together as children if they supposedly meet for the first time at the signing ceremony.

Yeah I remember that they shared a connection through a near death experience when they were little but that the experiences weren't the same one.

Yeah, before the FFXV reveal Stella and Noctis weren't said to be knowing each other since their childhood. In fact in this Versus trailer from 2009 they met for the first time at the peace treaty party and she asks him about his ability to "see the light" and his near-death experience:

I knew about her removal long before it was officially announced.

Yeah it seemed like something that Noctis suppressed but that Stella embraced. I always found that interesting. Maybe it wasn't/isn't that way but I just always felt that way about it.

I do still think that Noct's near death experience has to do with him being with his mom and she died and he didn't (obviously)

I thought it was stated that Noctis might have lost his memory due to that traumatic near death experience and is the reason why he didn't recognize her.
 
I know who Kagari is, obviously. She writes for Novacrystallis. I love to use that site for any Square Enix news :p

@Zoe how do you know she was an adult in that dialogue. To me it seemed like they were showing what happened during the near death sequence. That's why she said don't worry about me and live your own life.

Obviously not Zoe but the VA sounds much older than a child and Noctis answers in his regular (current) voice so it would be odd if it was him answering a child Stella voice

I know a lot of people in the industry since I work in journalism.

And Stella's lines in the E3 2013 trailer were partially from the 2008 trailer appearance, so we know she was an adult then. We can also assume it was well before the changes because that scene was in the original opening as well, which was also cut.

Right, the lines add up with old footage but the CG of childhood Noctis and whoever doesn't add up, until we learned about Luna and her time with Noctis as children.

Also childhood Luna from the Dawn trailer is wearing the same dress as 2013 child girl.

In 2013 it was Nomura's baby and it was going to be a multi part game.

In 2014 Tabata was put in charge and it was abridged to 1 game.

A lot changed. And of course they reused a lot of Stella's look for Luna. For all intents and purposes, what happened to Regis(back story and design change) is exactly what happened to Stella, but they just happened to also change her name. Why change it? Probably a change based on market research(kinda like Cidney->Cindy). Luna is a more appealing(

Stella and Noctis could have met as children but the accident could have caused memory loss. We'll never know for sure though.

Plus her manner of speech was more formal than what I would expect from a young child.
 
Fuck these last few days have rekindled my OCD hype for this game, i should stop watching the footage everyday, and the wait for March 30th is unbearable!

Same here. Ever since that new footage I have been going crazy for it.

I have rewatched the E3 2013 conference a couple of times, the Versus trailers and for some reason as evidenced a couple pages ago I have forgotten about the TGS and Jump Festa trailers.

That sounds a little convincing, I suppose. Yeah, I knew you worked in journalism and are somewhat affiliated with SE. I only heard this from other sites on the internet though. It was usually regarding a rumour or people thinking you said something, idk. Cool though.

Kagari knows EVERYTHING about Final Fantasy. Like she says, she knows more than most due to working in journalism. It's a lot more than convincing if you've been on GAF for long enough.

On another note, FFXV uncovered is coming up mighty fast!
 
How long is the Uncovered event going to be anyway? 1-2 hours?
How can they fill all that time?
All that comes to mind is:
-introduction (5min)
-epic trailer (4-5min)
-release date talk and reveal (5min)
-exploration footage (3min) + talk (5min)
-combat footage 3min + talk (5min9
-tech demo announcement and live demo (5-10min)
-Yoko Shimomura live performance? With Somnus, Veiled in Black and maybe the singed main theme (with the reveal of the artist) (15-20min)
-limited edition talk (5min)

No idea what else they could shove in.

I know Greg Miller is there to host and interview but the dude can talk a lot, as much as I love him.But I bet they show a good amount of gameplay. A bunch of concept art as well also how ring magic works.

I think it will be a 2 hour event. Actually Kagari do you know how long it is supposed to be?

So finally got to play Duscae and now I can have opinions!

1)Everything about the universe, exploration, and art of FFXV so far is fucking incredible and it looks like they will absolutely nail everything they have talked about in regards to those things. Which is really fucking impressive.

2)The final combat system has me terrified because the Duscae combat was not good at all. Really the best thing was the dodging, not the actual attacking. Felt like I was constantly fighting against the attack animations rather than using them. Not really sure what the idea is behind the system is as it seem to boil down to quick and heavy attack sets and you swapped the two out depending if you were fighting quick or heavy enemies. Or you didnt swap them out..... didnt really seem to matter as long as you could dodge.

I really really hope they made some massive combat changes, because it just kinda felt like a not very good action game. Just seems like they are too scared to make it an action game, when plenty of recent ARPGS showed you can have great rpg mechanics and still use a skill based combat system.

You can see the changes made in the new footage. They for sure made some changes and for the betterment of the final game.

Have you seen Ramuh yet? Or did you just watch videos. And make sure you get Armiger.
