His dad looks down and sees him playing the game, "Is that the one with the waifus? You have dishonored my family and are now disowned! LEAVE!"

The reverse salt is going to be insane. Nobody had S supported yet so nobody knew for sure. Not like this will actually be controversial. I already said the game would probaby receive a (very hard) T regardless.

Oh man the "Pre-order cancelled" crowd is going to be pissed.
A friend of mine is already crying that he cancelled his Limited Edition.
Can someone explain how this interacts with the gameplay? Like, what benefit does it have?
I don't want to be taking breaks from the things I want to do be doing to rub faces.
Don't worry, its optional.

A very very small support boost (which, if you're already married, is moot, since that means support is maxed) and some accessories, which are also silly bonus things.
Alternately: Team a-little-too-enthusiastic-about-being-creepy-with-video-games wins
I really don't understand why anyone would cancel a seemingly actual Limited Edition of a game for this reason. Being disappointed is one thing but since the feature means nothing in the grand scheme of things, why would you go this far and outright cancel something you know full well you won't get a chance to get back?Oh man the "Pre-order cancelled" crowd is going to be pissed.

So Game Xplain put a video up of the mini game, and there's no petting involved only the mechanic to wake up your spouse.

Looking like it's still censored after all.
What's hilarious is that by all accounts the waifus are what saved the FE franchise, it was on the verge of being shelved for good if Awakening had not sold well.
You should be thankful for the waifus because you wouldn't have any more FE games to play otherwise.
wow that voice acting is horrendous

So now people are saying swimsuits were removed as well, based on this video

Apparently the shop was rank 3 which should unlock the swimsuits, but the only thing available is a bath towel.
Can anyone familiar with the Japanese version confirm?

Such new and enlightening insights that were never expressed or covered in any of the well over 100 pages regarding this topic by now.I'd rather not have to rub any faces, or even have the option to. Who wants this in a game? How is this game mechanic fun or satisfying? Its just strange, to me. A weird nonsensical mechanic that has no actual parallel in the real world and doesn't provide apply properly to the strategy rpg genre
I honestly don't think this counts as censorship, because nintendo would be choosing to do it themselves. There is very little reason to get even slightly morally outraged over the concept of losing this mechanic.
Yes, it is. And if they didn't hit the 250k sales target set for them, it would have. This isn't true. This was never going to happen.

The chances of that were really slim, people always exaggerate the position the series was in. Even without the pandering and more focus on the cardboard anime cliche characters, a new, non-remake FE game with more appealing visuals than FE11/FE12 would have been almost guaranteed to sell over 250k. It might not have been the success Awakening was, but things weren't that dire.
The series problem was that Shadow Dragon was not very well received. Then another remake, Heroes of Light and Shadow, came across as more of the same despite having a lot of improvements and failed to make a splash (and didn't get localized, probably due to the reception of Shadow Dragon).
I always read that as 250k in Japan alone, especially considering that the most recent remake never left Japan and the wait for Western releases was a ways away.
{2010.07.12 - 2011.12.25} [NDS] Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem - Hero of Light and Shadow <SLG> (Nintendo) {2010.07.15} (¥4,800) - 147,045 / 250,592
In 76 weeks of tracking it did dead on 250k as a remake of the third game, one of the most popular in the franchise and on the DS which was a monster in Japan, and let's not pretend Fire Emblem has ever had remarkable visuals except maybe some pixel art animations in the GBA games. It skipped the N64 for an SNES game released in 1999 (2000 at retailers.)
There was definitely a situation. I don't think 250k in Japan was guaranteed, and I doubt Nintendo meant after a year and a half either.
