Man with so much standard modes missing at launch this game will get annihilated by reviewers imo. Worse than battlefront. They will lose lot of potential sales. I won't be surprised to see this not even making the NPD charts next month.battlefront sold well because its star wars this on the other hand....

Really dude...

So, for those that don't have the game yet, what are your plans to get through the weekend?

For me, I'm playing the fuck out of 3rd Strike and watching SF2 The Movie.

Playing Naruto to pass the time.

Newbie question: what is the function of Ryu's tatsu? Fireball is for zoning, DP is an antiair, combo finisher and yolo reversal, but what do I use his last special for?

Its good for get across the stage quickly ,carry your opponent to the coner and to get out of the corner . It also goes over some projectiles

Taking care of my baby daughter, take her to the park, daddy stuff as usual. If I have the time I may play a bit of USFIV, probably for the last time in a looong while. Then there's Valentine's day which will keep me busy for the rest of the weekend.

C'mon bruh, it's Valentine's Day *Birdman handrub*

Actually, a father of two with no babysitter...nothing much

Any word on whether the pre-order exclusive costumes are fully exclusive? Need me some beardy Ryu but I am in my fuck buying from Gamestop

You should though. Ono cares. Sony cares. Capcom cares. Why? Good reviews = budget. Budget = more content for us (paid and free), and it means more investments in future fighters in general.

If a game tanks in scores it tends to tank in sales.

So if you want Street Fighter 6 to not come out until 2030 and for it not to be a FPS, then yeah we all should care lol.

This is true but I don't work for capcom so I don't care and if this series ends so beat it. Doesn't change that I want the game now. Also reviews high reviews don't mean a game is gonna sell well or vice versa. Destiny got pretty low scores yet sold great, so did star wars battlefront. Tomb raider on X1 bombed even tho reviews were good.

Regardless even if the game bombs at launch they are still going to support it long run and long run its still gonna be successful so as long as that holds out the game can bomb.

shame that cant be said of casuals, first impressions count and if casuals gets the first impression this game has no content, they wont spend their money on it and that could effect potential sales, that's why you should care about the state the game launches in.
I'm glad you are able to quantify all casuals into one group of not buying because of single player content.

Wait what the fuck no vs cpu?? Is this true I love doing cpu vs cpu or just practising vs cpu as I'm crap online.
This is utter bullshit, that's like the most basic of modes

Does anyone know what the "DLC cards with extra goodies" or whatever from the CE are about? I don't think they go into detail about what you're actually getting.

Any decent multi-character streams going on at the moment?

Also, I presume the Season Pass only covers the six new characters for this year and future ones will come under the pricing of an all-new Season Pass Pt. 2?

trying to be facetious doesn't make my point any less true, first impressions are important

Survival mode.

I'll be spending Valentine's day with the wife, and then working on Monday.

She just said I should call in sick on Tuesday, lol. I just might. I just might.

You can still run vs cpu in training mode.
Don't count you can't do rounds and it's not the same.

Holy shit this is bare bones what was capcom thinking. This is what happens when you pander to your hardcore fans, us casuals get fucked. One of my favourite things to do in 4 is just to have a few games in the morning vs the cpu now I can't do that.

Better be in a update as this is a major turn off

You can practice against the CPU in training mode (turn off infinite life and meter, and you can get rounds).

And, I've never heard so much outcry for CPU vs CPU in 25 years until today, lol. It wasn't even in a lot of games until recently.

Yup, the season pass is only for the first six characters this year. Who knows if they'll do the same for any future characters.

Yeah, I didn't know wanting this was a thing, but I guess it could be because lots of games have it now.

I feel like a versus mode is one of the easiest things for them to patch in tho
they already have CPU ai and everything. if people make noise I'm sure they'll add it. kinda a crazy omission tho.

To be fair, a day one patch that fleshes out and adds basic modes wouldnt be a first.

... Who the hell cares if the controller doesn't vibrate?

I get the feeling the lack of a CPU versus mode is intentional. There's no way they could just "forget" to put something that basic in.

If I'm using the the default pad, I want it. It's a default feature at this point.
That being said I wouldn't use the DS4 for this, unlike MKX.

Jelly everyone's getting their hands on it already. I've got plans this weekend, so it's not a huge pain...I would've definitely saved a day for SF though haha.

The lack of cpu straight up is most likely due to them making a shadow like system ala KI3. I get that people want a normal mode though.

Edit: Aren't the kiosk demos story mode? I could be wrong.

The no vs cpu thing is pretty baffling. The gamestop demo we have in our kiosk is literally vs cpu.

Sigh, this makes such an omission even worse.

I really hope Capcom will get wind of this and patch it in later (together with CPU vs CPU while they're at it!).

Regarding the day/night versions of stages: so currently these variations only exist in story mode then? Maybe we can unlock them in the shop for FM or after completing certain goals? Would be weird if they remain exclusive to a story mode, but then again we're missing a lot of obvious things still.

I hope so. The Shadow feature in KI is the best single player mode in quite some time. It' perfect for transitioning from standard CPU play to online play. Since you're playing users' characters it feels kinda like online, but less intimidating.

VF did something similar, but KI was a huge step up
