Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I've been in training mode practicing Karin Cr. MP>St. MP hit confirms on Ken. Stages where I've had it happen most on are the Kanzuki Estate and Bustling Side Street.

I've avoided those stages mostly because they 30fps animation of the background characters is annoying. I'll hop on those stages here in a bit and see if I can recreate this.

Yo if you were that guy picking up this game around 3pm in the brick cold in NYC, with your baby mom and newborn in a stroller in this brick cold weather, I just want to say you are a terrible father.
Hey fuck you, don't worry about my life.

Just playing lmfao

Just noticed that people were streaming SF5. Is it people that got their hands on a physical copy early? Or can I install my steam version and play now?

I wanted to buy SFV with my son because I will pass it on to him since this game will survive only one year

Is that something people are saying? Lol

PS4 physical copies

You can use an input wrapper mate, search google, there are many out there

Thanks for the look out. But that adds a ton of input delay, so i'll wait.

I really appreciate that you did that though. <3
So it's probably been said but I guess the PC version is held back so it matches the PS4 experience huh?
Probably. I hate it when developers do that.

Yeah don't get me wrong it uses the U4 engine, I'm happy with it. Looking at some 4K screens/videos also look awesome. Clearly a step up from PS4. I just can't put my finger on it sometimes there's moments where characters feel like clay or 'flat' and not textured (ignoring motion blur and ken's hair). I don't think it's just a art design/style choice, it just feels like they aren't pushing textures hard as they could. Anyone feel me?

I play @ 1080p max settings on a 144hz monitor.

And yeah it was definitely known that the NPCs run at 30fps on purpose, as others have said hopefully that shit is unlocked in PC version in a future patch.

Is this from your own feeling from trying different input wrappers? I highly doubt they add noticeable input delay.

What in game resolution scaling setting are you using? Because they look amazing at full res 4k.

I forgot, I think it said 'All' ?

There is a setting for resolution scaling that goes from 0-100. It makes a really big difference in how good the characters look, at least since I got this 4k tv and took notice. But the look you might be referring to is just the way the game is. Necalli for instance, has a textured look to his skin that doesn't seem to carry over to his in-game model. Definitely up your scaling res though if it's not maxed.

Justin's saying on his stream he was having the frame drops on the unpatched version, seems like upgrading fixed it for him.

All he did was a PS4 firmware update, no? That said, LI Joe is on the latest patch of 5 and experienced drops.

edit: Justin just said he can tell there's random slowdown

You know that Necalli example is good, I think that explains what I'm talking about. Necalli's skin is textured. Looking at my screens from the beta the other toons look like clay. Also I think maybe motion blur is fucking with it as well (as seen in in the CA screen). Hopefully there's an option added to disable motion blur or can i force motion blur off in nvidia control panel?

I don't think x360ce or JoyToKey add any perceptible delay. That's more of a concern with hardware converters like CronusMAX.

I think post processing is the motion blur, i turned it off immediately.

Also there is no dithering on medium shadows either, i guess ps4 is using below medium setting for shadow.
Hearing the slowdowns and the dithering i am glad i picked up the pc version but i am sure the ps4 will be fixed soon since my pc is very old and it runs the game without slowdowns and with better graphics.

thanks, do you know if that will that impact anything else negatively?

Nope, though you should be good to go. I'll probably disable it altogether on release after I check it out some more. If I had to guess, it's probably just FXAA and motion blur under it.

Wait, yeah, what's with that? Necalli seems to be the only character with what appears to actually be skin. Everyone else is just smooth.

Okay I just tested it in the beta lol, turning post-processing to medium.
It fixed some stuff but it's definitely impacting edges etc. That is a wonky downgrade.
Look at cammy's arm in character select, it's like plastic.

Definitely a work in progress, these are not the final models we'll see in a years time. I strongly think they will retexture all these character skins (for PC at least). It feels like Necalli is the only finished character, maybe Gief too. I dunno, just posting here so people have more infos

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but without an OT yet..Storm Collectibles unveiled a couple of their 1/12 scale SFV figures at NY Toy Fair and they're looking pretty fucking cool!
