Great news that the movie is doing so well. When I went to see the movie there were people from all ages, 11-65. And it's been a long time since I heard so many people laughing at the movies. So I'm happy for Reynolds.

Okay, what sort of deal with the devil did Ryan Reynold's make? An R-rated comedy doing that well overseas is madness.

Its a 15 here in the UK and has lined up perfectly with the half term break.

It's going to be packed all week here I think because there's little else to watch right now for that age group.

You think they'll leave the piss on the floor then? Someone has to clean it up.

Are you serious? Im saying there is a big difference between leaving behind a bag of popcorn vs pissing on the floor or leaving dirty diapers in the theatre. I dont think leaving behind popcorn bags behind is a big deal because picking those up is part of their job when they clear out a theatre. Just like when staff picks up garbage at a stadium after a game. It is their job.

Congratulations to the Deadpool crew, well deserved, brilliant movie.

Now if only people had supported Dredd this way (such an awesome comic book movie) but at least people have learned from that mistake and gone out to support Deadpool this time.

Marvel could if they wanted to. They're basically already doing it on Netflix.

Marvel/Disney won't risk potentially tarnishing the MCU brand with an R-rated movie, it's too much of a risk for them, especially now that they have a winning formula.

If the MCU fortunes start to decline and more R-rated superhero movies come out that are successful, then I could see Marvel/Disney producing more adult-geared movies. But that is a big "if".

The closest we could get to Marvel doing this is if they made Nextwave into a movie.

But the universe wouldn't be able to handle something that incredible.

lol. you mean the guy that tried to boycott the production of x-men 1 (by cutting its budget during filming by 35%, among other things), had brian singer thrown out of a 20th century fox building by security when he expressed interest in doing superman returns before x3 and is responsible for deadpool in x-men origins?

haha oh man. Fuckin' Rothman. It doesn't surprise me at all that something cool actually came out of Fox and I haven't even seen it yet.

This. Marvel Studios will probably keep their more violent MCU characters on Netflix for now.

It isn't 18+ everywhere though. Here in Peru, it is rated 14+ so that means any tall enough kid is going to see it no problem. Nobody respects movie ratings over here anyway.

Never been to Peru, but I've visited Colombia a few times and noticed nobody cares about ratings or parental controls over there. Not even for porn, you see kids going into porn rental/dvd stores and nobody says anything.

Don't forget rushing X3 into production and replacing Matthew Vaughn with Brett Ratner.

I think I underestimated the general public's knowledge about comics because of comic book sales. Deadpool comics have been around a lot time, but I really doubted how familiar the general public was with the character. Obviously a whole lot of people not only know about him but were looking forward to a movie about him.

The success of superhero movies is mind boggling. I really thought comics were a niche interest considering how comic sales have declined over the years.

It just dawned on me that a Nextwave movie would be the only chance Monica Rambeau would have of showing up in the MCU.

:/

Marvel takes itself and its brand much to seriously to have done this before this Movie.

You're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying they will. Or that they even want to. They obviously don't. I was saying they could if they wanted, and are approaching it already via their Netflix properties.

The guy I was responding to said "Disney can't." Which is bullshit in two ways: 1) Marvel doesn't take creative direction from Disney, Disney leaves them alone to do what they want creatively and 2) Marvel could make R-Rated movies/products if they wanted.

Big difference between leaving a popcorn bag/soda cup and taking a piss on the floor. The employees get paid to go around and clean up the theatre, that is their job.

You could also piss into the trash receptacles near the exits in most theaters. What other purpose could they possibly have?

Went Friday night with a larger group of friends than i have been with to the theater in a loooooong time and there was a legit line for the 1030 show... in a beer theater.. also a first for me.

Such a fuckin good Deadpool flick. There were sooooo many points where I was just grinning ear to ear with the fact that i was actually watching a Deadpool movie... not some mish mash attempt at something kind of like Deadpool. But Deadpool.

joke spoiler:
Oh my fuckin god at the Taxi driver dude before the big fight at the end lol :D:D He's whispering "i'm so proud of you" and i'm dead all over.

props to Ryan and everyone else involved in making this beast a reality. I'm going again this week.

Ah gotcha.

Is it too early to start fantasy-casting the sequel?

Becuse I just want to put this out there - John Cena for Cable.

I hope that Deadpool 2 has a subtitle that works with the character. Hopefully they can get creative with the name.

uh...

Deadpool Too-l
2Dead 2Pool (someone on GAF said that already)

uh...

The Deadpool Sequel

uh...

Deadpool: Infinity Deadpool

... nevermind.

No. They are not.

Marvel takes itself and its brand much to seriously to have done this before this Movie.

Although, you are correct: Netflix is the closest they have come to thus far.

I know Blade wasn't made by Disney/marvel, but if they decided to go this route I think that violence, nudity, and dark humor wise it would be the property to tap. Though I agree with you I just don't see Marvel being this irreverent with their characters.

The question now is does Fox adapt some of this into the main X-Men films. My hope is they realize they need to be closer to the source material but knowing fox they will assume they need to copy the level of violence and maybe brief nudity.

Weird thing is i was looking more forward to deadpool than zoolander 2 like most reviews saying it was 15 years too late but also the marketing has been fantastic with deadpool hitting everything on the right notes.

Honestly, last week I was way more excited for Zoolander 2 than Deadpool. I'm not into comics, so I'm not familiar with Deadpool as a character at all, and the trailers just weren't doing it for me, while Zoolander is my fave comedy ever and I love Ben Stiller as a director. However, the Deadpool Super Bowl spot got me interested in a way the Green Band trailers never did, and Zoolander 2 got absolutely demolished by reviews...

Long story short, I saw Deadpool already and want to see it again, and I'll probably catch Zoolander 2 at a matinee just because I have a free ticket.

Deadpool 2: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.

Deadpool 2: Veinier, Purpler, More Bulbous.

Deadpool 2: Is That an Eggplant in Your Pants or Is It Your Giant Mutant Cock?

Too subtle?

Me all day today to people bringing their <10yr olds to see the movie: "Are you aware that Deadpool is rated R for extreme violence and nudity?"

Lady, don't bring your 5yr old to see Deadpool. Have some sense.

I've been looking forward to this since they fucked up Deadpool in the Wolverine movie and Ryan Reynolds was clear about wanting to do a Deadpool movie the right way.

I was not disappointed. It's some of the best Deadpool ever. Thinking of rereading Cable & Deadpool now.

I recall Marvel Animation saying at NYCC 2015 that they had no plans for any future Deadpool appearances in their shows (I might be wrong, it could have been SDCC 2015). Plus, as stated earlier, the X-Men/F4 video game ban is still ongoing.

If Disney's smart, they might want to piggyback off the movie's success and give it an adult animated series on Netflix.
