Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

A roll wouldn't really benefit Guile much. They could've reworked him to be more offensive, but I imagine not too much considering Nash is pretty much the offensive Guile now. I'm expecting a Dhalsim-esque rework.

It's hard to think of what his V-skill/trigger could be because the best part about Guile is his simplicity. I'm thinking he V-trigger could power up his Flash Kicks and Sonic Booms. Maybe making it to where the Flash Kick sends out an actual projectile wave and his sonic booms can like come back or something? Ooo that sounds rad...

I have no idea what his v-skill could be.

Well you said it. Simplicity. Pretty sure his v skill will be a move that will move him forward or give him some mobility while retaining charge. They probably wouldn't want you to be able to go ham with it though so hence why i think it will be a roll or something like that.

True. I was thinking of the roll as more of a mixup tool, but I guess if designed right it could work for just keeping charge.

I was thinking maybe the bazooka knee as his v-skill, but that seems to simple. Maybe a front flip or something. That would be bad ass. Especially if they gave him booms in the air. Oh man. WHOA MAN. Imagine using a dront flip to get off the ground, keeping your charge, and throwing a boom in the AIR.

I WANNA SEE HIM SO BAD.

This Cammy stream went 25 consecutive wins in ranked and then just got bodied by a Ryu. lol

I like the league badges under your name.

I GOT IT. His V-Trigger costs only 1 bar, and when it activates it just plays Guile's Theme.

If it was already playing, it plays even louder and adds an extra guitar.

Instantly demotivates your opponent (unless it's a Guile mirror match, in which case shit just got real)

Guile's V Skill should just be his upside down kick but let's you dodge fireballs with it this time round.

His V Trigger can just be a Sonic Hurricane acting similar to Rashids V Trigger.

Finally his Critical Art can just he his Triple Flash Kick, maybe add a air suplex after the final kick to add a bit of flair into the move.

As for specials, let him stick to having only 2 special moves, that's what Guile all about.

I think they fixed it, It stopped happening to me 2 stress tests ago.

People are gonna try and play this with under-powered PC's though.

It happened to me during all the betas... only way to stop it was to unplug my Wacom and shut down all the processes related to it. I saw at least 100 other people post the same problem on the Steam forums... all linked to tablets and touch screens- even in the last 2 betas.

I was thinking the upside down kick too, but it or the bazooka knee just seem too simple.

Sonic Hurricane V-Trigger sounds good/reasonable, but I want the flagpole-bald eagle beatdown.

And now I can't stop thinking about Sonic Booms in the air now. Fuck man. FUCK.

If its a Guile mirror it becomes a phoenix wright style mini game where they debate raising the debt ceiling. If its Guile v anyone else it becomes a drone strike and kills both players.

I would make his V-Skill Remy's flying kick, his V-Trigger would remove the charge time for booms, and I'd give him one-handed high/mid/low booms (his EX boom would be a projectile Sonic Hurricane)

Seriously though, it would be AMAZING if Guile's V-Trigger had him put on his Aviators and his theme started playing, whatever the V-Trigger may actually be. Similar to Wright in UMvC3.

My first thought for a Guile V-skill would've been his sobat kick, similar to the way it works in SF4 where he can kind of glide backward or forward while using it. Lets him adjust his spacing while throwing a hitbox out at the same time, kind of like a slightly safer dash.

V-Trigger should obviously be the shades, and my thinking for its effect would be to significantly cut down the amount of charge time required to throw out a boom or somersault. It would let him apply more serious projectile pressure or put up a better defensive wall with faster kicks, but you can't solely rely on that to close out a round. That's my initial spitball ideas anyway.

Nice video on Nash's meter stealing mechanic and how to use it in your gameplan:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hShBsODPcFM

Okay, this is excellent. Been keeping a half-decent Nash on the bench but this makes me want to put the time in and main him. Meter control certainly seems to be one of the more interesting gimmicks in the game, and maybe the only one outside of FANG's poison that doesn't have a clear counter. If a Nash player wants your meter, they can take a slice with more or less every punish. Brutal.

Nobody ever said freedom was free.

Gross, let Remy keep his own moveset
I seriously doubt Remy is coming back. He has neither demand nor uniqueness in his favor. With only 6 additional characters per year, he just seems like a very low priority. There are dozens of popular SFIV veterans, other forgotten characters (like Oro, Sean, Q, and Sodom), and completely new characters to contend with.

BTW, SF5 has more in-depth tutorial materials coming in March.

From what they described, these will actually be done on a per character basis. Most other games don't do that (because that would take a crap load of time to create).

Xrd kinda does something like that, but it's more about fighting against each character, and they're all just "block this combo and follow up with your own." Oh yeah, and Skullgirls, which does them well.

Since its Valentine's Day, I'm gonna speak about waifus! :P

C. Viper is my Street Fighter waifu.

Cammy is actually my favorite Street Fighter character and I have a soft spot for her. I do plan on maining her.

Laura is waifu material... but her English voice is so bad that it makes my ears bleed.

R. Mika is also waifu material... but being obsessed with Zangief is a big no-no.

Karin is waifu material because of her awesome laugh and fighting style.

Chun-Li is definite waifu material and could steal me away from C. Viper and Cammy if she wore her Battle Costume as her default costume.

Xrd tutorial, from what I remember, is just with Sol and the overall mechanics.

It sure as heck didn't teach me how to use Ramlethal, unless there's some other mode I missed.

The challenges or whatever actually teach you various mechanics- wakeup reversals, bursting at the right time, and yeah blocking and punishing various character's combos.

You know I had a thought about the way a lot of content is delayed in this game.

No doubt things are rushed and incomplete at launch... but delaying some of the more beginner friendly stuff might not be a half bad idea.

Online is now separated into leagues. The league system by design is to prevent new players from getting matched with veterans that are going to body them. Obviously day 1, week 1, probably even month 1... that's not going to work. We're all going to start at zero LP regardless of skill.

So really cinematic story and the modes to entice newer players being added later... kind of makes sense. Ranks will have been evened out quite a bit more by then.

Asides from sonic boom and flash kick (the former is about as similar as comparing a shoto fireball to a non-shoto projectile in terms of utility, since the high/low mixup is the whole point), what at all about Remy is not unique? He's one of the most unique characters in SF, he really sticks out for better or worse. If you're saying you hate his design or something yeah, I can see that, but as far as being unique, he's a grungy, emo prettyboy in a series full of flashy roid abusers. And he definitely was put in the wrong game since parries rendered him low tier.

Longtail investments still require a game to start off strong. SF5 is not looking to be a strong starter right now, as their is a bit of pessimism, negativity and uncertainty surrounding it. Releasing a game based on a Tournament schedule instead of creating a Tournament schedule based off a game's release is foolish of them to do, because it ties their hands and weakens their position in the marketplace.
Splatoon didn't have a strong start and had hella negative reviews, still ended up selling great and continues to sell well. Even battlefront is still selling even with all the negative user reviews.

Casual market usually buy games during launch period. By then some casuals will buy the game then return it causing negative word of mouth amongst casuals. And once the content is their the casuals would have moved on

People really are overstatin what casuals do. The majority of people buy games day 1 not just casuals anyway. I don't see why people act like casuals don't love to play online or that all of them care for single player modes. All casuals aren't of one mind ya know.

I'm curious, in how many hours is the US PS4 version live? I found it strange when I pre-ordered it on the PS store this morning that they said it would be live in just over 12 hours from now.

Different concerns and different interests addressed to different groups. In the case of story and consistency of it, there's much greater clamor among overseas fans for these issues than there is for Japanese fans.

So I know that there are no stage transitions in any stages other than China, but did they also take out the stuff such as hitting them onto the bus, and the noodles on the head?
If so that's extremely disappointing.
I understand the new stages not having the transitions, possibly due to running out of time, and hoped they would add them in at a later date.
But taking out stuff that was already in? Boooooooo!

Don't know about the bus, but noodles scene is still in the game.

Question for PC players (cross posting from various threads :( )

Does anyone know what you need to buy to get a OG ps3 TE stick working on a PC that its incompatible with?

It worked on my old rig but not on my new one. I believe its a usb pci hub or something?

I need to know what to look for in a store or online :(

I can't wait to play with scrubs online like myself. I'm getting bodied by great players that know what the fuck they're doing....lmao
