If you don't like Amazon's shipping, boycott them

I'm not ordering new games from them anymore because of it, sure beats complaining and doing nothing about it

They promised no such thing. They promise 2-day shipping but they don't say when the shipment will leave them. Prime is good for only 1 thing, free shipping on orders that don't normally qualify for free shipping.

On product page (not all games are like this):

Want to receive this the day it comes out?
Select Two-Day Shipping shipping at checkout.

On Amazon Student/Prime:

When you want it, when you need it
FREE Two-Day shipping with Amazon Prime

Also on the Student/Prime page:

Free release-date delivery on video games, DVDs, books and more

Amazon is doing the 'ship two games at the same time despite one game being released a week earlier' gimmick with me so I'm just picking SFV up at Walmart during my work day and then doing the Very Divisive Strat.

is that very divisive? I haven't seen much against it? unless you're talking about something else

I still can't find that text on their Prime Student page but here's what they say about release-date delivery:

Amazon.ca said:
Release-Date Delivery is available for eligible pre-order items we can deliver on the release date to select postal codes within Canada.

Shipping charges for Release-Date Delivery vary by item and are displayed on the order confirmation page. For Amazon Prime members, Release-Date Delivery is free when selecting Two-Day Shipping.

Tracking information isn't always available from carriers online for Release-Date Delivery. To see if it's available for your order, go to Tracking Your Package.

Fire Emblem: Fates has Release-Date Delivery. Street Fighter V does not.

It's shitty that they didn't clarify that not all games are eligible for release date delivery.

Then prime member should get their SFV between tomorrow (release) and Thursday (2-day shipping) and its fair game, since it does not have release day delivery.

Sure? All it says on the Street Fighter V page is that it releases tomorrow. 2 day shipping means exactly that: It will take 2 days or less from their warehouse to your doorstep. If they run out of stock and aren't able fulfill your order OR they don't ship it tomorrow, you won't get it on Thursday.

People need to realize that shipping speed does not factor when they ship an item. It only dictates how fast it gets to you once it leaves them; if it goes by plane, boat or mule.

If this is frowned upon I'm happy to take down, but any gaffers in Vancouver area looking to purchase a Wii U?

I'm thinking of selling mine, but very much only at the thinking about it stage

I received my Bison code last Friday. Mine did ship and is expected to arrive tomorrow.

Anyone selling their Cammy Bestbuy DLC costume? PM me.

I got MGSV a week and a half late despite preordering a year in advance and people were posting in this thread how they just ordered it and received it the next day. There were tons of copies everywhere and I live 40 minutes from the Amazon warehouse in Mississauga. Customer service said it was a fault in their computer system because I preordered it with a bunch of other games before they had set release dates and yes the shipping preference was set to dispatch items as they are available.

When I signed up for Prime Student a year or two ago their sign up page had a bunch of pictures of video game characters and blu ray titles promoting the release-date delivery. I see all that is gone probably because of the complaints and the limitations of their system to deliver on that promise.

Hopefully they will sort out the technical issues but this year I'll try Best Buy with my E3 preorders.

So I recieved my Pokemon blu ray collection from amazon and all 3 discs have scratches and one even had a giant thumb print on the disc.

Do alot of viz media discs come with scratches now? because i'm thinking of contacting them to inquire about this.

My copy of sfv says delivered but there is nothing here so annoying..

Check who the carrier is. Sometime Amazon.ca ships to me via UPS, sometimes Canada Post. But it's usually UPS so when it says delivered and there's nothing at the door I get anxious that someone has stolen it from my doorstep.

And then my wife checks the mailbox, "You have a package here!"

Oh whew.

We're having the same opinion here I think lol. I am saying the same thing as you!

Personal feedback from Amazon: From all my E3 orders from Amazon, only 3-4 games did not have release day delivery (I did not order SFV), and maybe 90% of the game with release day delivery do not arrive day 1.

How is it gonna take amazon a week to get me a copy of street fighter v when I live in the same city you ship from. This is my first preorder from them from the e3 sale. I miss future shop.

They'll sit on your order for a week because you don't have prime

I got it last week but haven't opened it yet so I'm getting worried now :-(

Does Canadian Prime even have benefits besides faster delivery?

It gives you more power to complain if anything is wrong with your order(if it's just a day late you'll most likely get 5-10$/a free month of prime).

Prime pays for itself if you put some effort into it.

Well that's how I see it...

Not that I know of. Kind of ridiculous. I never get things on time even WITH Prime so it is genuinely a way for me to dump money and see no return from it. I only have it because I've gotten almost a year free now from late deliveries and Amazon extending my membership. It's very much a bizarre vicious circle. I will never not have Prime and I will never get items on time.

Reddish...

Were you able to redeem your SFV Bison code? Amazon gave a code through chat but it said it was wrong or invalid.

I haven't tried yet...

Wait for the psn to update maybe?

Yeah. Couldn't enter the code over the comp as the site is down for maintenance. But I tried it on the PS4 and it wouldn't take. I'm wondering if it's just not going to be useable until after the games release. If you get a chance to try it today, let me know what happens.

Probably won't work until after the game releases.

Reminds me of when Type-0 HD came out. Got it early, but the FFXV Duscae code wouldn't work until the Tuesday, lol

Just noticed that we won't get a physical release in NA for the Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls Collection either... We should start sending on Playstation, Shuhei and @Aqizil's Twitter this #BeyondHeavyPhysical... :P

So the only reason I don't have PxZ2 is because my office treated today as a holiday. And PxZ shipped on Friday. Ah well, I still haven't played the demo.

Amazon shipping is always better for me than it gives me estimates for (in the 25th to 3rd camp here, Toronto), so I'm not tripping out too much because I can get shipping notices really late in the night and it arrive the next day.

Just sucks cause this was my reading week and probably the only chance I'll get a big chunk of time to play until May. Saving the money >>>>>> slightly late shipping, especially considering unlike some other games with multiplayer components, SFV won't die out in that time my order is still processing.

It's fine since it's just heavy rain and beyond but IF knack 2 is digital-only in NA then...

Haven't been paying much attention over the weekend, but is Knack 2 a done deal? I read rumblings of a few rumors on Thursday but nothing after.

Edit: I see it popped up on an animators CV, should be hearing news soon then I guess?

fucking hell
Hello from Amazon.ca.

I can understand your concern regarding the delivery estimate for your order for the item "Street Fighter V - PlayStation 4 - Standard Edition".

I completely understand your disappointment. That's definitely not what we want our customers to experience. It was not our intention to delay this order and I offer my sincere apologies in this situation.

I've checked and see that due to some technical error, the delivery estimate for this item was incorrectly calculated in your order. I've forwarded this to the technical team so that they can investigate this and take appropriate action ensure this is not repeated in the future.

this is the third time I've contacted them about this so far and it still isn't fixed

actually it says Feb 23-24 now
still pretty unacceptable

To the person who got scratched pokemon movies:

My disc for the third movie is badly scratched(I blame the case) and holy shit that's an ugly and cheap packaging(the print on the discs looks so low-quality...)

Okay so it's not just me then. When I first opened it I didn't understand why they would put the third disc like that. Guess i'll be emailing them about the scratched discs.
