Got my first rage quitter of the final game. Ryu couldn't do anything against my Nash and pulled out mid genocide cutter from behind.

Losing is so frustrating, and when it feels like none of the characters are clicking with you it makes it even worse. :lol
May have to shelve this early and just wait for Tekken FR, that's more of my background anyway.
Please don't feel bad. This is my first real shot at Street Fighter too and I'm doing pretty bad. I can barely execute simple moves and hardly do a EX move right. I'm still having fun, though. Whenever it gets frustrating, I just stop playing SFV and go to Naruto 4 or Gravity Rush Remastered. Its okay to take breaks.
You and I are in the same boat. I'm thinking of Laura as well.. Her mix ups are downright scary.

Hahaha I freaking love Laura but her story was just.... Her English voice doesn't even sounds like it fits her. It's too chirpy and high spirited.
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it.
I actually really like her voice, I do think the story was pretty stupid and that shirt defied all known physics.

I'm in the same boat. I've been playing Street Fighter since 2 on SNES but I've never tried to actually better myself until this one. Losing all the time is immensely frustrating, but I've found I can reduce my frustration and stress levels by trying to take one lesson from every match. I start asking myself, "What did I do wrong here? How can I improve this aspect of my game?", and then try and apply it to my next match. I'm way too scrubby to go into ranked yet, but this is the most fun I've ever had with a fighting game online.
Only used 4 characters so far, and inly 2 of those in matches. 1 FANG match and about 10 or so Gief matches, and I messed around with Birdie and Mika in training.
I need my battle lounges to do sets against gaffers to try every character man :/

Since there is a lot of negativity, i will say I'm happy with the Ryu statue. It is pretty big an has good detail and paint. It looks waaaay better than my derpy drake from uc3 and the pics of uc4 drake.I got some friends to buy the game and we are having a blast. I love being able to watch their matches on CFN. Can't wait for the updates to start rolling out. Core game is fantastic.
I'm at work right now, but my CFN is BashNasty. Any tips and tricks would be well appreciated.
Cammy's is worst. At least Laura's explains why she goes from point a to point b. Cammy's doesn't.
One minute Cammy is fighting Birdie (I think) and the next she's on the Shadaloo airship fighting FANG with no reason or explanation as to how and why she's there. Then she's in a train station in London, again with no explanation. I don't even.
You can dislike Laura's voice all you want but it doesn't mean her story is worse than Cammy's. Cammy's is straight up awful.

She's stuck in the schoolgirl costume. Any hype she might have had for joining the roster is gone, my friend. She's the biggest candidate for a time skip design in the series.

And that costume's gotta be dlc since most people in story are dlc. Seems like a schoolgirl outfit for Sakura is easy money for Capcom.

They will probably release SSF5 just to get a new round of reviews and ratings lol. Just put the six DLC characters in and ship it!

Super happy with that Venom PS3/4/PC stick btw. Feels weighty in a good way (as in doesnt feel like a cheap knockoff), its smaller than my old TE so it fits better in my lap, and the stick is actually a little stiffer, not as loose as the TE which I love.
The buttons are the worst part, and even those im like whatever...they're buttons I dunno lol, you press them and shit happens (but Im a scrub).
If anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative dont sleep on this one, especially since its easily modable

Yeah, but it's still really bad and doesn't flow well. Ryu's makes sense on its own even though he'll be in the cinematic thing, same with Chun and Fang and Vega.
The best is Birdie's I think.

I enjoyed it a lot actually. I wished it was better but I feel like it set up the cinematic story well enough. They needed to add a few more fights with no cutscenes for them and add a difficulty setting and it would have been perfect...but alas they did not.

Trying to work out my FM and I think I'm short changed.
You should get 1000FM for every character level right? And the only way to check is by setting a character as favourite then checking your profile and seeing the level there.
I've got 10 at lvl12 and 6 at lvl 8 which should be 168,000FM right?
+ the 10,000 for each story mode should put me at 328,000 right? Unless Story mode doesn't give 10,000 per character? And even then Survival doesn't give FM either? Because that isn't even counting the Survival modes I've done.
I have 220,150FM, completed all 16 Story Modes, 10 characters lvl12, 6 lvl8, 10 clears of Easy Survival mode. (and like 3 online wins).

I'd say FANG's is the worst. As it's just...kinda...there.
Cammy's story doesn't tell me why she's going from place to place and they just kinda repeat lines.

^ Yup. You just described me. Another reason I keep playing is the fanservice. If I'm gonna be brutally honest then I'm gonna be brutally honest. Cammy's sexy preorder costume that I have keeps bringing me back over and over.

I always mained Ken, but despite preferring how he plays in 5, I've switched to Ryu due to the awesome parry. While playing against another ryu last night, I parried every hit of his shinku hadouken (which is a pretty big deal for a scrub like me to be able to do against another player) with low health and continued parrying my way through his fireballs until I landed a throw. I still lost the round and match, but it was a triumphant moment for me.
But I have to say, after two decades of ken, ryu feels really weird.

They just said you will always be able to keep playing SF5 with vanilla, but they can do Super like a GOTY version with all the characters and costumes etc.

This is kind of upsetting tbh. So much being said about this game lately has been emotional and reactionary, and once everything online is smoothed out those reviews will still be there and negatively affect peoples perception of the game. This is a weird case where I think the professional reviewers got it right while the general consumer completely overreacted.

PS4 version here, is anybody else having a problem with their start button not working in SFV? I thought my start button legit died on me. But I just booted up USF4 and am having no problems. I'm going to restart my PS4 and hope that everything works again.
I have yet to see a Karin with the last colors, hard survival mode really sucks with her.

What? Most Reviewers didn't want to deal with online issues for their reviews. Some did and are still waiting. Consumers had/have to deal with these issues right now, and PC owners have been complaining about matchmaking/netcode since Beta 2. The lack of content is an issue that isn't going soon, either. And just because it gets more content doesn't mean it's going to be acceptable.
Consumers spent their hard earned money on something that doesn't work. Figure it out.
