To the people mocking others who are supposedly "defending" ND:

When you guys have someone at your company who does something shady or underhanded and it slips by you do you say "fuck my entire company sucks and so do I! "?
So you're saying everyone defending nd here works for them/sony?

So they "stole" a concept art that will only be used on a picture frame hanging on the wall? Yeah...such a non story. I'm there on day 1 ND!

I mean, this is another Last of Us subway map situation. But it seriously doesn't hurt to at least double check permissions before putting it in your product. But ND needs to learn from their mistakes when it comes to using artwork not produced in house.
Is there anything they can do regarding this though? Seems to be a trust issue only, that you have to trust your employees or contractors that they're not taking stuff from others without permission. Otherwise it seems to be pure luck if another guy sees it and recognize the art from somewhere else. I cant see any easy way to cross reference every piece of art at least.

Lol, nice.

I'd be so pissed if I worked at Naughty Dog right now. They were probably expecting a day of great press and now they have to fire some artist.

If ND doesn't change this picture and fire the guy who did it though? I will 100% put that on ND as a studio.

This is the most balanced and rational post in the thread

I'm just about done with Naughty Dog after this. Bunch of theives, going to support an original third person shooter in April that doesn't steal stuff from others. Good thing Remedy has high ethical standards unlike ND. Very disappointed get your shit together Naughty Dog or you can kiss your studio goodbye.

Naughty Dog the developer did not do this.
An employee, possibly employees, of Naughty Dog the developer did this.
How or why there are some people n this thread claiming it is a poor look for Naughty Dog on a whole is truly mind boggling to me. Like I cannot even wrap my head around it.

I feel like I've been betrayed by a best friend in a sense where you think your best friend is a well mannered, church-going lad but then you walk into him fapping furiously to furry porn. But god damn me if I'm not gonna keep attending the weekly choir to hear his beautiful voice.

I can't really be bothered to poopoo Naughty Dog as a whole, but whatever dumbass thought they could slip that in needs to face the music.

Yeah, someone will weither its from an outsource studio or someone in Cali.

And people still take enigmatic_alex44 posts seriously?

Fucking lol.

One person fucked up. It's not naughty dogs fault as a company to not catch this. Apologize and take it out of the game. Done.

That looks like a nice nod to AC actually.

Come on.

This is obviously not that big of a deal (They should still apologize) but people are either blinded by their fanboyism or have to defend everything ND does.

A nod to AC that no one will know, AND they take out the pirate as well?

Come on.

Reposting from the other thread.

Jonathan Cooper is an ex-ubisoft animator. He joined Naughty Dog and said some stuff about his previous employer when the female assassins thingy came to light.

Now with this news, an Ubisoft Montreal dev (creative director) tweeted this to him

He waited two years... all for revenge.

Why would an animator be doing concept art? That Ubi guy just made himself look like an idiot.

Well for one this isnt the first time, for two the people being mocked are those that are denying that it's even the same image, or those essentially saying "who cares". I.E. crazed fanboys.

This happens because the US government turned corporations into people. It's why companies have code of ethics training. Except video game companies, apparently.

son, your lack of faith is going to disturb sales numbers.

If you're going to last long around here, you're going to have to step up your fanboy trolling game. That is way too obvious.

Which is all that should come of it. The game itself looks fucking insanely good. Like, this is the generation finally taking off and showing what it can do kind of good.

Can't see what motivated a ND artist to do this. Especially for a 1 second scene in - for now- what is simply a trailer, and is subject to change. It's like people go out of their way to create controversy.

I can't for the love of me understand the defenders, the employee who did this did something completly wrong and if ND defends him somehow they should also share some of the blame.
