Exactly this. Just give us 1 concrete date and stick to it. Delays are the worst kind of gaming news. This is not just for this game but for almost every dev/publisher.
I love what Bethesda and From Software did in that regard. Announce the game WHEN you know it will be ready in 6-8 months. We (or atleast I) dont need 2 years of wait and delays.
No, the initial release was staggered.
EU folk would have been screwed as usual with the later date and spoilers everywhere.
This new date is better for those reasons.
Guys game development is even more hard and complex than before mmkay.
Sure they should in theory only release the concrete date when absolutely sure but shit can come up and throw development out of whack.
It doesn't have anything to do with being incompetent sometimes, developing software can just be a bitch.
It happens sometimes (yes it sucks) but all this will be forgotten when you get a high quality final game in your machine.

You can't KNOW a game will be ready 8 months in advance because a lot of things have to be done at the end, like QA.
Some people here have no clue about game development obviously and that's ok, but seriously relax folks. 14 day slip on a multi year project. Get some perspective.

they can't realistically do that since things can change late in the process or they might hit a wall in regards to something they're needing to achieve...delays happen in life, why would they be different in games?
i mean, they could just not give a release date at all and do what id did while developing doom 3 and just constantly keep saying "it'll be done when it's done" is that a better solution? because it's the only alternative and imo it's a much more annoying one.

Jeez, some over reaction in here, I sure wouldn't call them (ND) incompetent. We're getting a game that was announced about 2 years ago within reasonable devolpment time, considering the scope and the graphical fidelity of the product.
2 more weeks? Fine by me, now it's a little easier for me to say as I'm a bit older now and have way less time on my hands to play games and even when I do have free time, I got a backlog to keep me satisfied. Better than shipping an unfinished product.
ND definitely don't deserve the incompetence label when you compare it to Square Enix and that fiasco of announcing a game 10 years ago that they knew they wasn't going to able to release in a realistic amount of time.

I was quite annoyed when I read this first, but now i'm kinda glad, since it'll give me time for yokai watch and starfox, and gives me more time to save up my pennies for the console/libertalia edition.

Why is this a big deal? Surely, there are a lot of games to play till May? They're delaying it so you get a better product in the end. It's not a massive one year delay either.

Uncharted gone meta with delayed release dates. Uncharted on March NPD and uncharted on April.

I don't mind waiting for it but I do agree Sony shouldn't be giving out these solidfied dates if they're just going to change them.

In conclusion people will always bitch. When the game comes out no one will even care that this was delayed another 2 weeks.
Considering the PS4 is a global product, I'm sure there are many markets in parts of EU, Africa and Asia where digital for many Uncharted fans won't be an option.
Better Sony and ND have their physical shipments on point to satisfy demand at launch.

Although I really want to play this, the delay is a blessing in disguise for me. I have Twilight Princess to play throughout March. Then I have a whole month to play Dark Souls 3 before Uncharted, which is definitely going to be needed.
It is a big deal when it's third time delayed and counting

I agree with these sentiments. I am not really angry or annoyed I just think it's become embarassing for them now.
So what your telling me is that this delay will mean the game is perfect day one with no server issues, no performance issues and will not need a day 1 patch? cool

I don't mind the delay, more time for Dark Souls III and other games. I have faith that ND will make an excellent game.

No one forced ND/Sony to give an exact date if they weren't sure about being able to meet it. When you give your product an exact release date and then delay it, twice, then you are sure as hell being incompetent in that regard.

It's not just the game. There are items within the limited edition, steelbooks, and the console LE. Those now all have to be aligned for being on sale the same day worldwide.
