The only reason Psylocke's costume has colour is because the actress is a huge fan of the character and fought for a more authentic looking costume.
If it was up to Singer all she would have gotten was the standard black/silver armor and a strand of purple highlights.
No idea how magneto's red costume made it past Singer though. Maybe cause it's a dark red rather than red red.

This is one of my pet peeves with Singer's X films. Instead of embracing the look of the original comics, he's trying to distance them from the source material, making it look like a generic action film. Compared that to the MCU films, Deadpool, or even X-Men First Class, in which the characters wear colorful costumes faithful to the comics.

As much as I was entertained by X-Men, X2, and DoFP, I'm to the point where I think I'm done with Singer's entire 'look and feel' of these X-Men movies. It worked years ago when superhero movies were still considered somewhat of a risk, but now you have the MCU knocking it out of the park and showing that, yes, you can pull off the iconic looks without the source material being too silly because of it. Deadpool nailed it too, giving me hope that some of the big brains at FOX might start to wake up.
Series needs a big time reboot, IMO.
It also needs someone in charge that actually gives a rat's ass about Scott Summers. The guy is the fucking leader of the X-Men... or at least he was 25 years ago when I was reading comics.

Also, I always saw Mystique as a villain. Why is she the hero?

this movie should open with a future xavier listening to eiffel 65's blue. then he reminisces about that one time him and his team fought a blue god.
quite excited about this movie, despite the marketing trying it's best to dissuade me from it. singer is la flame with the xmen franchise. common complaints i hear are "black leather" and "wrong lineup" so he's doing a pretty damn good job since those are pretty superficial. like i dunno how people can get so riled up about the black leather. it's bland but not awful. usually makes me go 'oh that doesn't look that good' and then proceed to forget about it. nothing as offensive to the eyes as magneto at the end of first class or captain america in avengers. now those looked like SHIT.
dude makes really good melodrama out of these characters. it's something really lacking in any comic book movies outside of the nolan trilogy sadly.

Yup. This is the only superhero movie I'm really looking forward to. With Singer directing X-Men, it's hard not to be excited after what he's done before.
Hopefully the marketing gets a little better. I liked DOFP's trailers at least.

They just need a new director - Singer is good but 3 movies is enough for him to tell his story.

The costumes are what they are. People, myself included, have been beating that drum since X-Men came out in 2000. They aren't changing until Singer leaves and it's completely rebooted. I'm more bothered by Mystique walking around as plain old Jennifer Lawrence which is completely at odds with her character development in First Class and DOFP.

They arent superheroes so, especially now with literal teenagers on the front line, why would they wear costumes instead of something that offers a physical advantage like the black leather stealth suits or the here combat armor suits. They should all be wearing helmets too.

I like her in the poster, but I'm not really feeling it either. I loved Famke in the role. I can't really think of other red-headed actresses of the top of my head that i would want for it though.

From what I've read from Sophie, they acknowledge Jean's considerable and growing power...I just hope it makes a difference in battle and they don't artificially nerf her. No "incapacitated by Toad" absurdity from X1.
