Wow they really entirely reworked that airport shot eh?

those shadows are really bad, good riddance

I'm hyped for this movie, but it seems Tony and Capt should be swapped really. Why is the soldier being a rebel and Tony Stark being a pro govt rules guy.

Spider man looks great.

Never seen an Avengers or Captain America film (and I'm a fan of Spiderman, Batman, Antman ect) just never appealed to me. This time however, I am there day one, what a cast.

I wonder if this can challenge Star Wars TFA?

There are too many blockbusters in the summer months for it to challenge Star Wars. It'll have legs, but something flashy will open a week or two later to draw viewers away. Winter may be tough for films to have legs because the weather & kids in school. But Summer anymore is tough with just so many movies to compete with.

It is. More so considering he's grown up watching these heroes and now HE IS ONE of them. I'm surprised he wasn't falling over himself.

Since if he is 15... Then he was like what 7? When Iron Man became a thing. He grew up hearing of them.

Iron Man 1 was retconned to happen in 2010, so if Civil War takes place at the same time it's released in theaters in the real world, Peter Parker was 9 when Tony Stark revealed his Iron Man identity to the world.

Can spideys eyes even be explained by science? It works for cartoons but doesn't fit in for live action.

And the Iron Man suit can be? The same suit that allows Tony to be tossed around or slam into the ground with zero padding is believable, but eyes on a suit that change shape cross the line?

that shot of Tony with the iron man hand is terrible btw

phoniest CG with no weight nor anything

I mean it's probably gonna be cool and all but it looks really.. bad

bad in a "you can tell there was nothing there when he did the motion" way, which CG should avoid

It makes sense to me. Stark's thing lately has been trying to do the right thing and then completely fucking it up because he doesn't think things through. Meanwhile Cap, who one movie prior was telling Nick Fury "this isn't justice, this is fear", is taking the side of the moral right and probably thinking "last time Stark tried to do something for the greater good, he made Ultron"

What's so unexplainable about them? Ignoring all the shit that goes on in the MCU already, we have real technology already that does stuff like eye tracking, auto focus, etc. A $100 camera can take pictures automatically when it sees you smile or open your eyes. It's just a small screen that opens/closes just like camera lenses.

Spider man looks great.

Stark is continuing his legacy of making terrible decisions.

Also this parallels the comic book that this movie is named after. Stark was the pro registration guy.

For which part? The hand being wrapped around a robotic Iron Man glove or the other one that should clearly be burnt by the discharging firearm?

He stops the bullet with his armored hand. Not really that hard.

I meant "nobody is demanding the scientific explanation for how Stark can suddenly make a glove sized bullet-stopping gauntlet out of wristwatch" but we need an explanation on how Spidey's eyes work when they're clearly using a fancy version of a camera iris.

The spidey eyes function like focus lens - nice way to work in the effect of emoting by way of design. I dig that shit. I hope the costume over time in future movies transitions into a more classic look - but damn if that face ain't signature Ditko. HYPED!!!!

Spidey's eyes need a scientific explanation yet nobody is demanding a scientific explanation for this

They don't need any explanation other than 'did stark make them or did spidey make them?'

Also, I think I wanna buy all the blu-rays. Is there a good, cheap way to get them all? I don't want collector stuff, just the regular old blu-ray for all of phase 1 and 2.

Yup

"Every time somebody tries to win a war before it starts. Every time."

yikes at that spiderman scene. he looks fantastic but they definitely should have ADR'd that voice again. it felt like a first take. very underwhelming energy.

but he looks great for sure (a bit too much like a toy tho) and i like the tone of this trailer. there's stakes here that i actually give a shit about.

The underwhelming energy is the point. Spider-Man isn't taking any of this really seriously. The humor comes from everyone being hyped for his first showing and then he just comes ip and says, "Hey everyone" nonchalantly. It perfectly fits his character.

Because the government tried to kill Cap in Winter Soldier, he's understandably become less trusting and more paranoid.

I hope this comes across better in the movie but this looks so cringe worthy... in the trailer it makes it seem like hey he's about to shoot someone, better pull out this one off glove that you'll never see again and take this shot to the face.

Tony Stark chose red for his Iron Man suit despite Jarvis insisting it had no tactical advantage. It could easily be written off in the film as a character preference. It does make the character cartoony. Kind of got a Green Lantern vibe from the suit and a Deadpool vibe from the eyes. Ryan Reynolds must be haunting this trailer.

Stark creating the eyes just for the costume to look cool is totally him... I don't want them to be some zoom goggles. Tony saw a movie called Deadpool and tried to recreate the eyes to enhance the look of his new buddy Spidey. He said it : "I just pay for everything and design everything, make everyone look cooler."

Also, living through the whole Nazi Germany/Registration of Jews thing (which in his memory was only like 5-6 years ago) does tend to color your thinking on the subject.

This trailer is frying people's circuits. It's beautiful.

Maybe I'm too easy to please, but considering that this deal between Marvel and Sony is one of a kind and could have easily fell through meaning that we wouldn't be getting Spidey in this movie at all, I'm too thankful to complain.

I saw Crossbones in one scene and that scene where Wanda was putting down Vision with her powers was like holy shit, I need to see this!!!

Stark is continuing his legacy of making terrible decisions.

Yep. I think its cool how Cap and Stark have grown over their respective movies. Cap with the Hydra stuff and institutions having too much power and Stark making the same mistake over and over and turning into a villain.

This is how I feel about it as well.

Spider-Man takes Cap's shield, webs his hands together, then poses in front of Cap with his shield. Lol what a jerk

Sounds like Spidey.

I can't wait to see him in action and spouting quips everywhere. Hopefully he's quippy cause the "hey everyone" didn't sound confident.

Have you delivered your thanks to James Franco and Seth Rogan in person?

Where does Spider-Man swing in from? The time old question of where he actually latches his web onto buildings. They're fighting on open tarmac.

Edit: Just making a point that nothing makes sense when you spend more than a few minutes thinking about it. I'm stoked none the less.

It's weird that he's the one making bad decisions... yet he's the one that's like Steve, you need to be held accountable for this and I'm going to be the one to do it. Comes across as a hypocrite... but it makes sense because this kind of thing happens.

Marvel couldn't have busted out one more one liner for the one dude's character that deserves it most. Where's the Wheden Quip machine when you need it.
