Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

I'm still amazed that The Incredible Hulk had the smallest gross of the Marvel films considering the character's popularity and presence in pop culture.

This is not gonna be an Avengers movie. And I don't expect the other heroes to turn up for more than 30 minutes of the movie. The new Avengers are probably gonna be at the battle with Crossbones which will probably be the start, and then we have the whole 15-minute splat fest.

I do expect Spider-Man and the #team marketing to raise the grossing from Winter Soldier's $700m to $1b though.

As far as box office goes, I think Civil War is going to be in the top 3 Marvel movies, not sure if it will top Avengers but the potential is massive.

For a start it doesn't have Avengers in the title, so the slighty disappointing Age of Ultron shouldn't effect it (I say slightly because it was still good, just not as great as it could have been)

It has most of the Avengers in it and brings in the new guys, Ant-Man and Black Panther but this time they are fighting each other, so it's something a little different.

The Russo bros are directing again, after Winter Soldier, which was one of the best, some might even say it's the best Marvel movie made so far, so the story and action should be great.

And finally they now have Spider-Man, who is one Marvel's biggest characters and will bring in a lot of fan's.

Easily 500m domestic maybe more. Winter Soldier Hype, Iron Man and Spider-Man will bring a lot of audiences. 700-800m WW just on Iron Man and Spider-Man alone. So 1.3b would be my bet. If the word of mouth is good, then it will surpass Avengers 2.

Punching Iron Man with his hand seems kind of silly. Hits should be shield only until he breaks the armor (At least if I was Cap)

If emotions and adrenaline are running high, Cap won't feel the pain in his hand, and it'll still knock Stark's head around in the helmet quite a bit.

Well Cap has super human strength, so can't see a reason why he can't use his fists, the shield would do more damage of course but I guess he doesn't want to kill Tony, just knock him about a bit.

As for that fight, probably going to go:
- solo Cap vs Tony fight
- "I can do this all day"
Bucky comes in for the tag team
Bucky gets his arm ripped off or blasted off
An enraged Cap unleashes on Tony

I wonder how they're going to end it. I wouldn't be surprised if they have Cap ready to destroy Tony like in the comics, and then Spidey brings him back to his senses with some words on heroes and responsibility or something like that.

Got to have the young hopeful teen show these guys how a real hero acts

Pfff, In Iron Man 1 he gits hit by a fucking AA gun, then shot at by an F-22. This is like being punched by a kid ;P

Think about what the situation must be for Captain America to be wearing Iron Man out with his bare hands. He must have stopped giving a fuck.

I feel like Ironman gets weaker in each movie.

Lol.

I beg to differ. He did better than Thor in a fight against Hulk.

TIH came out before the Disney acquisition and Marvel really boomed. It was the first movie in the MCU, and it's also the worst (I haven't watched all of them, but the ones I haven't watched are pretty universally praised). Norton is a horrible Bruce Banner and the director is garbage.

Marvel can't currently release a new solo Hulk film due to distribution rights being held by Universal (I'm hoping they expire after 10 years from the last movie). If one of those 3 movies in 2020 is a Planet Hulk or something, I can see it doing extremely well (if CB movie fatigue hasn't set in by then).

Honestly, I want BP to step up with the "What the hell are you people doing?" speech at the end.

Look at that failure, Age of Ultron. What an embarassment!
Yeah, money correlates to quality amirite?

I don't think it was that bad, but that's a poor line of argumentation to go down. Your daily reminder that shit like Tranformers: AoE can make $1.104 billion

Moving goalposts. There is a common dialogue that AoU was a "financial disappointment" on GAF.

I don't think many think it was a true financial disappointment. Tongue in cheek.

Disappointing realization of a concept? Sure.

Several people on gaf were decrying it as a failure about the time it came out when it didn't match the gross of the first Avengers. A lot of that was kneejerk reaction though conflated with talk of the comicbook movie bubble bursting.
