Someone did come into Poligaf and complain about how it invoked feudalism. No joke.

Well that person's dumb as butt.

Nonetheless, discussing politics like a celebrity competition is awful, and while most people do it subconsciously, I've never seen it so fully and un-ironically embraced anywhere else on the internet.

Even celebrity gossip sites that spend approximately 30% of their articles talking about how we should bow down to Rihanna somehow manage to discuss politics like it's a thing that actually affects people in a meaningful way, and not just a competition to see who can prostrate themselves the most to their favorite pop diva.

Well, yeah, obviously. That would be a completely different complaint.

So I don't get your complaint. People are obviously just joking around when they say shit like, "bow to the queen", so what exactly is the problem with that?

You need to visit the poligaf community. Clearly you've never set foot in there. We discuss politics seriously ~95% of the time.

You know how sometimes, a person or group of people start doing something ironically but then, over time, after repetition, the line between irony and sincerity gets so blurred that it's hard to tell which is happening? that's what happened here.

Man do I want a brokered convention. That would be absolutely incredible to watch.

Now, now. Don't be greedy. We can't have two contested conventions. :p

Voted in NC this morning. I was early so the line was short (5 folks) so I got in and out in about 10 min.

I'm feeling the Bern!

Today is the day. Rubio's last stand!

Dreams will be shattered today or maybe the greatest upset since Bernie's Michigan win can happen!?

CNN just HD a report about Ohio crossover voters where they stated that 55% of all of the early voters for the republican primary were either recently registered independents or democrat flippers.

Thought about giving Bernie a pitty vote here in Florida, but I thought "Why waste a vote on something thats not going to happen?" ,so +1 Hillary.

I think it's a bit of an unfair dogpiling on what's ultimately symptomatic of the reality distortion of Bernie's campaign more broadly. I think there's room for intelligent discourse on potential wins that might spur a bit of momentum in Bernie's campaign, but at some point you have to have the humility as a Bernie supporter to not make sweepingly inaccurate assertions so confidently. It was a trifle a few months ago, but the barrage of insouciant dismissal of facts and polling by a vocal subset of Bernie supporters on social media and elsewhere begins to grate. Don't think this thread should let statements like that go unchallenged.
Armchair experts on both sides have been grating...

But yeah, your response was uncalled for. Don't take it so personal, dude! Half the fun of this thread is entertaining the notion of Hillary losing, which would be great for the Democratic Party. Why you gots to rain on the parade?

Voting for Hillary is also wasting a vote, if she wins regardless.

Also, delegates are awarded proportionally. So one extra pity vote here or there could give him one extra delegate, which may be the difference at the end of the day.

What sort of time can we expect results to start coming in?

This seems like it will help Trump.

But man, those Democrats voting for Trump are playing with fire. I wouldn't want to be someone who voted for Trump as a joke, only for him to become president, as unlikely as it is.

I'd say if Rubio somehow beat the odds and won tonight that he will be throwing a full blown 90s foam party considering how he celebrates coming in third place.

Over on 538 the chart is quite telling....

My second time voting here in MO and my Girlfriends first time.
She's afraid of telling the people at the polling place she's a democrat because we live in TRUMP CITY. afraid she'll get turned down or have her vote invalidated lol.

Be sure to get out and vote anyone in a state with a primary today! Even if we have a different taste in candidates, at least participate in the process!

I'm dragging people to the polls today after work. Already voted earlier in the week.

It's our responsibility to get Sanders as close to "not losing too awful bad" here in Florida.

Despite all the shit they get Bernie supporters are voting for Bernie because he needs every single vote he can get against Hillary. I want to know who these mystery Trumpocrats are. They're either lapsed democrats or Hillary supporters who think Trump will be easier (as if she won't crush little Marco and Kasich) to beat in the general. In either case I agree with you. They're playing with fire.

I voted like two weeks ago for the Illinois primary. Absentee ballots despite living in town? Priceless. Sit at home, take my time, research a few candidates for positions that I'm not as familiar with... and all it costs me is a stamp.

You do fine work, sir.

Screw the defeatist Hillary apologists. Please help keep the Bern feeling going!

I'm already sewing the red carpet to lay out before emperor Trump when he eventually visits my village. I'll need to gain his favor to overthrow the standing chieftain.

Feeling the Bern in IL despite just learning about this Rocky guy in the polling booth.

Funny enough, I voted right next to my former Aldermen running for state rep. I didn't have the heart to tell him I was voting for his opponent.
