No? Batman is pretty regularly crazy. His whole theme is that he's just as insane as his villains. He's a guy that has tons of money and could probably do a lot to change the world but he dresses as a bat and beats the shit out of people.
A ragged messed up Flash from future is fine long as it stays as dark future flash which it will judging by concept art
He dresses up like a bat and doles out vigilante justice. He's extremely intelligent. He isn't unaware that what he does is borderline. It's why, time and again you have villains saying he's a hairs breath away from being just like them.
It really saddens me that we aren't seeing this Batman onscreen. I'm fine with a more dour broken interpretation but without even a loose attachment to his core principles, I'm not sure I will even recognize him.Yep. That's what makes him Batman
this is the scene. Spoilers for the Under the Red Hood
Batman explains why he will never kill, even the joker
WB: Fire Snyder, Goyer, Terrio. Get Paul Dini, Bruce Timm and Brad Bird.
It's boggles the mind how poorly the DC film universe is being managed right now. I didnt need spoilers to know that this movie was going to be bad, but wow, this sounds not just bad, it sounds depressing. Yes there are versions of batman mythology that are hyper violent, but he's also still a brilliant detective. Sounds like the version we got is dull witted and fueled by vengeance and closer to punisher thematically. Superman is Jesus is literally every single superman movie they've made so I wasn't expecting much there. Whatever.
Snyder assumes that he's doing the fans service by giving us edgier hyper violent characters. What he's forgetting is that over the past 10 years, comic book movies became something more than mean spirited and nasty wish fulfillment fantasies for ostracized teenagers. They became thematically deeper (i.e., the Nolan trilogy) or enjoyable romps (i.e. the entire marvel film universe).
Comic movies have crawled out of the quagmire of adolescent revenge fantasies, and now Snyder is dragging them back to that nastiness.
But Snyder doesn't understand any of that. He's too shallow. Purely a visual director. All he know how to do is plagiarize images and basic themes from other acclaimed sources (i.e. Watchmen or Millers the dark knight returns) and slap his hyper violent anime action on top of it. It's really sad to see the DC universe being mishandled like this on film, especially since the TV iterations of DC characters are so much fun to watch right now.
I'm not saying that you're a bad person if you enjoy this movie, but you're definitely in the "angry & alienated" demographic that supports the Donald Trump campaign. Am I taking this too seriously? Probably. It just saddens me that Hollywood is treating cherished DC characters the same way as the Transformers has been.
Sony has rebooted the Spidey character 19 different times in the past 10 years, so hopefully the execs at Warners can wake up and have the balls to do the same. It's not necessarily the actors that need to be canned, it's the writer/director team.

You're awful.
You're literally the worst thing I have read in this read so far. So congratz I guess. Just go away.

Look, someone had to say it. Movies are often a good representation of our social zeitgeist. This one doesn't speak well of us.

For a minute there, I thought it was Lobo.
It seems like that, because it is.This thread seems like about 10 people who have actually seen it to mostly middling reviews and then a lot more people having not seen it and freaking out and questioning what they're hearing.
