People are salty as fuck over this film, I can absolutely believe they'd pay to see a new cut just so they could complain about the film some more.

Like if the movie was good, I could see Marvel fanboys being salty as hell.
But who the hell gets salty over a film of this quality?
Drained is the best way I can put it. I left the theater with this 'Meh' reaction. Like if I didn't have to watch it again I would be okay. No desire to see it again whatsoever
I don't know. But I genuinely sigh when people say Thor 2 is better/less offensive. Like maybe too much stupid shit happens here, but at least stuff happens. Thor 2 just makes my soul cry. And I say this is as someone who thinks Chris H is as good a Thor as RDJ is an Iron Man, but the dude really needs something to fucking work with.
The only thing I'm salty about is that I want to talk about it but I don't want to wait to rent it so now I gotta go see it in theaters. Maybe I'll enjoy it though? I'm certainly not going in with the intention of hate watching it. I dunno, I'm part of the problem.

I saw it after work. I was supposed to see this with my girlfriend, but I wanted to give it a test run before I took her to see it due to the reviews. As far as I'm concerned I took a bullet for her cause I don't see her enjoying it, probably would've sucked all of the energy out of her.

Eh, I thought Thor 2 was better and less offensive. It was a boring movie throughout but at least it's rendition of Thor was far better then the adaptation of Batman and Superman in BvS.

Thor 2 is less offensive because, bad as it might be, it at least didn't turn Batman and Superman into Murderman and Captain Hypocrite.
I'd call that into doubt, given Thor in Thor, The Avengers and Avengers: AOU is nothing like the mopey git in Thor 2. But a big part of that is that terrible romance with Jane Foster, which they seem to be downplaying increasingly.
Thor 2 was simply a safe and bland film. It feels like it was created to simply fill a spot in the MCU release schedule. It's a completely forgettable film that feels like 2 hours of filler.

The reason I love BvS and Ang Lee's Hulk is because they're so fucking ridiculously insane and inventive and mad and 'HEY LET'S THROW THIS SHIT HERE.' Now Ang Lee's Hulk is a better film, but BvS goes from 'what if Superman was real' to 'HAHAHAHA LOOK AT THIS SHIT AND THIS AND FUCKING METAHUMANS.' It is the most brilliantly ridiculous film ever for sheer gall.

BvS loses to Ang Lee's Hulk just because it lacks Nick Nolte. On top of Hulk as a whole being way better acted.
AoU was better than Thor 2 (for me at least) but that is not a very high bar to clear. I was also disappointed in that film after really enjoying Avengers.

Thor 2 was so bad that they're having 3 be the second-to-last Marvel film before Infinity War. I'm fully expecting them to throw everything including the kitchen sink and Thanos at it to to ensure it makes a $250+M dom total.
I think expectations play a huge role for me when it comes to enjoying a film. It's why I could enjoy a Thor 2 and BvS... yet come out of an Age of Ultron or Spider-Man 3 feeling like complete shit, even though I'd probably rank all four of those films at a 6.5/10.

its rumored (but i think both actors confirmed it) that 80% of their scenes got cut, to make more room for loki. thor 2 was really fucked in post (editing, marvel doing the cut and ordering re-shoots).

Based on what Alan Taylor did afterwards, the original cut probably wasn't all that great.
Seeing as how it has constantly come up in every thread about Batman v Superman, it seems more likely that that movie made people so bored they'd rather talk about anything else.
Ayup. I wonder though if the Thor movies would have been made substantially better if they had casted an actress that had more chemistry with Hemsworth than Portman. She was a complete miscast and doesn't enjoy the role at all. Both movies unfortunately depend a lot on their interactions though, so when the romance seems forced, the whole movie feels contrived.

55% would be based on the estimate from yesterday of a $37m Sunday. Actual is $33.1m, so that's a 60% drop from Friday. That said, it's during the school year, and included Easter Sunday, which should be taken into account when comparing to other films. Even with good WoM that won't compare well to a summer film.
A good apples to apples comparison would be FF7 from this same weekend last year; it dropped 51% Fri-Sun, on its way to $350m.

Ang Lee's Hulk was actually a well made movie with a decent script and nice acting. The problem (if you think there was one) was that it aped Bruce Jones' run on Hulk at the time which was all about "less is more". When you can build that sort of suspense for months to a payoff, it works well. However many (most?) people have expectations of a Hulk movie.. #1 being Hulk Smash and #1 being Smash A LOT Hulk DOES.
Ang Lee made an outstanding comic book movie centered around the mythology of The Hulk. But people mostly wanted a modern CGI version of the 70s TV show. Neither is right or wrong.. but when you went in hoping for the latter, you were probably pretty pissed when it turned out to be the former.
