Holy shit, I made that gif years ago lmao!
it's a GAF mainstay. thanks

Yet Sony is going to release a new $400 SKU, and do little-to-nothing to convince people to upgrade?Because realistically, nothing will change.
Sony isn't going to drop 40 million active consoles anytime soon, neither are developers.

Where are we at?
Can I be the first to say, don't panic, OG PS4 owners. 2x the GPU power isn't nearly as much as you may think. It'll allow for more games to run at 60fps, but not much more.
Certainly possible. It'll be like playing at 20 fps more like.
Yeah, easily. 2D games could hit 4K if they're willing to author the assets.Could you see a situation where there as many native 4K games on the PS4K as there were 1080p games on the PS3?
And if people want that who are you to be upset at them?
Well, if you want the best possible graphical output, you'd be upgrading your graphics card every few years as well for 300~500 dollars, depending. I know the precedent is different but still, not all PC gamers upgrade to stay in the "best" category. If graphics is the dragon someone is chasing, they'll be spending a console's worth of money on a graphics card or console model, if this PS4K stuff is for real. Either way, ideally there is room and support for a "middle" so to speak.
The thing is not drop.
The thing is focus.
If all games are made for PS4 with "bonus" on PS4K then "ok" ( I still dont agree with this but it would not be that bad)
But we are reading about sacrifices wich means games developed for PS4K and capped for PS4!
So if this is mod approved, is it pretty much confirmed?
Ok, now to track down a native 4k projector that doesn't require a second mortgage.
It's a great GIF.Holy shit, I made that gif years ago lmao!
If it does though, day one.Fairy tale land.
I suggested tons of times to not to play multiplat on WiiU. But whatever. Pay the consequences.I'm down for console power increments every two years. Last gen was fucking shit. And the new consoles are showing their age already (and before anyonr gets defensive im sorry but struggling to hold 30fps with little to no aliasing in most games already is not what I expected)
How is people that already own a PS4 okay with this?
What exactly should Sony do with millions of PS4´s ?
Fairy tale land.
People who buy top of the line PC parts and continue to purchase them year after year because they're 'obligated' to stay ahead of the curve form just a portion of the people committed to the PC platform. Most people will rationalize the investment like they rationalize anything electronic and expensive (like, say, a console) - future proofing precisely to avoid an inconvenient upgrade. PC games scale more intuitively and conveniently on top of that - a closed platform like PS4 and PS4K holds you exactly to the whims of the hardware and developer expectations with no room to maneuver yourself.LOL at people saying they're moving to PC.
You guys do know that PC gaming updates faster than consoles right? You're gonna be forking out more or same in the long run.

Old PS4s performance will take a hit due to less incentive to optimize for it.
A lot of games are designed at certain framerates and it's not always as simple as flipping a switch. Some studios have their cutscenes rendered for example at 30 FPS however in this case they would have to do it at both 60 and 30.
why are some here so against this?
you can still play the same games on your vanilla PS4 no need to upgrade to the new PS4 if you are happy with the vanilla PS4 graphics.
I find it very hard to believe that there won't be PS4K exclusives if those genuinely are the specs.
Related info from a meeting we had yesterday was waiting for it to be approved before posting.
Price is currently $399.99 they were discussing a better CPU which would raise the price to $499.99 we were guaranteed the price will be no higher than $499.99 (He mentioned the CPU upgrade quite a bit almost as if they haven't really decided on a final spec could be a pricing issue.) also there is currently no plan for any type of trade in program for current PS4 users but that could change.
They stated that the GPU is twice as powerful as standard PS4 and much faster. They did not say exactly how fast but that is was running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.
It was for console only players. This is tough for me because I love the ease of console gaming, but the allure of no PS + makes me want to consider upgrading my PC. I guess I'll make the decision when the moment arrives.... then these people should have already spent $1000+ on a PC. PS4 was -never- the best possible output. At any point.
Well while it's somewhat frustrating news because I bought my PS4 like three months ago, if E3 comes and Sony tells us that they're making all future PlayStation platforms backwards compatible with PS4, there's actually no problem at all. I can get to play these games with fancier looks when I get a PS5.
Don't know what's the logic with the "I'm done with consoles" posts.
Here's my translation:
It might be a while ahead, but we hope to show you something truly different from what was shown previously. In fact, since we announced it, the framework behind it has grown much larger to the point that what we had before may well have been a dud.
I don't understand people doing this unless they really only care about PC games. The only reason I am building a PC now is because MS is releasing all of their exclusives their. If they weren't I wouldn't be doing it.
Xbox 1.5 comming at 399, complete reversal win.
