they dont look the same at all... resolution alone i would think youd want it on PS4... but playing both side by side... the difference is absolutely noticable.
This game........ needs to be good.
I feel like I'm missing some nuance that is going unexplained. If the combat is just like this throughout the whole game... I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy it. And I have the CE preordered ffs.
I'm still going to try and stay optimistic because no doubt there will be more cohesion to the full game, but these 2 demos have not really done it many favors imo.

『Inaba Resident』;199728598 said:You're correct that if someone really wants to know more, theres tons of media for the game. The problem is that there are a lot of people who will either watch or play this demo, decide its bad and move on. That's it. They won't give the game a chance beyond that and as someone incredibly hyped for this game, I find that frustrating.
Even with Duscae, as early as it was, there were still moments where all the elements came together just right. Fighting a group of enemies with party members in this huge world with beautiful animations, amazing music, and the sun setting in the background. Walking into the Chocobo ranch and having your party members separate off to do their own thing, Discovering a dungeon and fighting a bunch of goblins to get a really cool summon at the end. The new trailers today do this as well and ,imo, show perfectly what the game will be like. These insane fights with good graphics. Traveling with your party in cars, boats, chocobos, etc. Stopping at a rest point, playing mini games, etc.
I know Tabata has said that what we were getting today was a tech demo but if they were gonna do that, I think they should have just provided something like the TGS 2014 demo. At least in that, you have your party, can see day night cycles, weather, and you get to test the battle system.
I really just want other people to be excited and enjoy it as well because I feel this game might be something really special. Maybe I'm being dramatic (there was a huge event and all) but impressions are extremely important and it sucks when people miss out on anything great because the first one was so shitty.
Do you have to beat the whole thing in one sitting?. I was under the impressions the game saves your progress but I don't see continue in the menu.
Overall I think this demo is not a good representation of what the final product may be. I understood this was a tech demo, but I think those that didn't watch the FFXV uncovered event are going to find this demo, download, play, and get turned off.
I don't like holding down the attack / defend buttons. It makes the battle gameplay feel sluggish, especially when you have to release attack then hold defend to dodge attacks that come quickly.
fps issues was the first thing I noticed in the forest area. although it smoothed out later in the house and city.
not sure if I understand the combat system. anyone have gameplay with someone doing anything other than holding O or Square?

The magic seemed off; every time I attempted to use it I missed because the enemies kept moving and their is a slight delay when casting / throwing or whatever Noctis is doing.
Graphics were ok. I experienced numerous hitches in the frame rate.
Music was amazing. That battle music!

The hold to defend is only for heavy attacks, holding drains MP by just a simple press you have regular dodge/roll. You're not supposed to just hold it all the time. The combat takes some time getting used to, personally I'm in love with the short air warps since it requires precise timing if you're off the giant will grab you and squeeze you to death. You have a lot of mobility at your disposal experiment! Analog in different directions those different things.
A lot of people are saying the combat isn't good in this demo. What has changed from Duscae? I personally thought Duscae's demo was pretty enjoyable.
Don't worry - you can occasionally press Triangle as well for a more engaging experience.

Watched a video from a GAFfer playing it. Yikes, does the combat feel as bad as it looks?
Practice fighting the iron giant and learn the nuances of air warping. For instance: if you jump and attack and hold down on the analog and press attack Noctis will evade but If you press up he returns back to enemy. I believe you can attack/dodge by pressing left and right as well.
The truth is I think the demos biggest flaw is it doesn't represent the quality of what FFXV should be. It's too early and too simple.
But if you see this as the bare minimum of the combat system I am intrigued to see where it goes.
kinda goes against the message of "Challenges" that Sakaguchi talked about in the opening of the show.
Feels great once you get used to it. The adult Noctis section at least. Kid Noct is boring af.
Thanks. The warping does have me a little confused but I'll practice with what you mentioned.
Agreed.
Why? I really felt like I was a child again playing as him. It was cute and meant to be easy. I appreciated the environments more than the combat, lol. Adult Noctis combat was super fun though.

Are you talking about kid Noctis ?
Yeah.
The game feels like it's on some kind of semi-automatic mode from Tales series (but worse, because at least you don't button hold your way to victory in Tales's semi-auto mode). It's like the game assumes you are an idiot. I ended up beating the demo, and I do feel some improvement over Episode Duscae in certain ways, but I still wasn't impressed. It's the basic of the combat they didn't get it right for me. Attack and defend. I don't care all the cool flashy air combo and warping strike if they don't get basic combo attacking feel accurate and well, good. Ugh.
I feel the purpose for kid Noctis is not meant for the combat that's why we have adult Noctis who's way more mobile.

Strange reactions on here. They said for months this was going to be a small tech demo with a chance to try out the basics of the game. That is exactly what it is plus it has some scenario. They seem to have delivered what the promised.
