There are extremely justifiable reasons what that's a pile of trash.

Into Darkness is flawed, but the loudest complaint about it, that it's a rehash of Wrath of Khan, is also the absolute stupidest. Outside of the cheesy "Khaaaaaaan" they're literally completely different movies.

Also, Wrath of Khan is a boring TV episode that goes on for WAY too long and has several logic holes.

You haven't watched Memento.

what the flying fuck is this

Dumb as fuck as the film was, JW fulfilled my childhood dreams of
a raptor riding a T-Rex as they cooperatively fuck up GMOsaurus Rex.

So, so, so irredeemably stupid. Perfectly content to keeping that purely in toy form.

I will admit I am biased, as Jurassic Park literally shaped my life, and seeing an entire movie that surpasses the stupidity of "Alan. Alan!" hurts me. :(

Ok, there is nothing in JW stupider than a talking raptor.

Dunno. When the annoying kids in the ball thingy were told to go back and all the others did, then they saw the giant hole ripped in the dino fence and decided to check it out because they can't add 2 and 2 together, my brain, which I had instructed to turn off for the duration of the movie, revolted. It refused to go along with that shit.

Agree TDR isn't as good as previous Nolan Batman but it's still better than most super hero films. It's on par with Winter soldier. The ending was awesome.

TDKR is my favorite of the Nolan Batman movies(I love em all) and whatever flaws you can throw it's way are present in the entire trilogy anyway. I'm saying this as a lifelong Batman fanboy of comics, cartoons and what have you.

Come at me.

Good point. But, to some folk in these parts, saying Memento is Nolan's worst movie is an equivalent statement.

Well, i suppose that is true.
Memento is a good movie, and i've seen it several times. But i'm a huge Batman fan, so i naturally rank BB,TDK and yes, even TDKR higher than Memento.

No...no...that doesn't mean i like Batman Forever or Batman & Robin..those are abominations that need to be erased from history

Me to literally every character in that movie:

The article says closer to $800m, but a studio will be trying to minimise that exposure as much as possible through tax breaks, distribution deals, co-production deals, etc. Plus, marketing for a big studio film is literally one department paying another department and that number tends to be fluffed up a bit for Hollywood accounting purposes.

I'm still leaning towards $600m.

Of course, kswiston could come in and say something that will completely invalidate me, so whatever.

nolan endings are usually really great scenes. no comic book movies can fuck with any of tdk trilogy end scenes.

Well 5 days in and BvS made $193,228,006 domestic, so it's far from bad (in money anyway, movie quality is debatable) but it's already fell behind Age of Ultron ($217,632,476), Iron Man 3 ($196,699,091) and TDKR ($198,038,896)

Now it could still make a billion, worldwide (it's half way there now) but it's all up hill from this point, so it might be close. I guess we will see if the bad reviews hurt it for the long run, in the next few weeks.

I'm sure the million articles about WB not trusting Snyder and the movie being in trouble/needing to be saved would do wonders for the marketing.
Well it's not like the mountain of bad reviews helps their marketing either. I've never even seen a post release hype trailer for the movie yet either.

People were already sold on BvS before the reviews hit.

People hearing negative things about production for a year leading up to JL's release date might turn out differently... or not. But I think it would be a legitimate concern if they went the route you suggested.

Good point. I don't think we even heard internal rumblings until about what 3 weeks prior to release? When somebody said, "the audience isn't going to understand this movie" or at least something implying that. I guess rumors of rough shoots and stories about chaos on the set are two very different things. At least we didn't get cast member shitting on it like we did with Fant4stic...or whatever the fuck they called it.

1st week TUE-WED drops: #Avengers 23%, #Deadpool 26%, #Ultron 28%, #IronMan3 28%, #Furious7 31%, #BatmanvSuperman 33%.

Unless the movie literally makes zero from today onward, no.

Domestically it's going to cross 300 million by this Sunday.

There is zero chance it hits 300M domestic on Sunday.

The film will go into the weekend with less than $210M. $270M is the best case scenario.

It's not passing 300 million by Sunday, best case scenario is its at 275 million or so by then. Right now it might not be past 265 million by Sunday.

Deadpool has a fair shot at BvS right now, depends on the Friday jump. I don't want to put too much stock into long term projections based off weekday numbers but Wednesday was not a good drop
