Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Special Edition - $79.99 | Best Buy US pre-orders back up

Well, not directly related to this thread, but it's the most currently active TMS #FE thread:

It's been confirmed that though Nintendo is publishing the game, Atlus USA will actually be the ones localizing it. This is another point in the 4chan "rumor"'s favor, all of which was posted before the Nintendo Direct that announced TMS #FE:

sP2PV92.jpg

Nintendo of America has also stated that there will be in-game content changes (which we already knew, because Tsubasa Oribe's idol outfit was modified). With all that, I think we might need some elaboration on the "Hot Springs DLC" point, 'cause I think there's a real good chance we're not getting it and it's not one of the DLC included with this special edition.

It wouldn't bother me that it's not included personally, but i find it weird how some of the outfits in xenoblade x were kept in game when it's also a T rated game.

Lin Lee's versions were slighty altered, so i'm confused as to why they couldn't just slighty modify the swimsuits and release the DLC anyways, but it hasn't been confirmed by nintendo yet, so meh.

I don't really see it as a good or bad thing really. At the end of the day they have to do whatever Nintendo wants.

I'd love to be surprised though.

I see less content as a bad thing. No matter one's proclivities to significant localization changes being important to suit different regions in the world, we're talking about a game like TMS #FE which already has a very niche target audience, which that kind of content was also made for. It's counter-productive to the product itself.

Though I can't say I wasn't anticipating this. It's interesting how visibly the prospects of this game's localization changed, though. Treehouse was clearly planned to work on this going by what was being said at E3 2015, and voice acting was clearly being considered as well.

Their reason is a bit weird, too, but whatever. It's amusing to think about how Nich Maragos, previous Atlus USA localization editor, left Atlus for Treehouse, and might have been on the board to be working on this if the localization team hadn't changed.

Edit: Oh, or were you just talking about Atlus USA assuming the localization duties? If so, then sure, I don't really see why anyone would see this as a bad thing. Especially when we know there's no English dub.

Just saw your edit.

More I mean I am not really changing my expectations for the final product if Atlus is doing the localizing, vs. Nintendo. For those concerned about edits I don't really see this as a big thing one way or the other.

In other words, I don't see this as "hot springs confirmed!". Maybe the script will be better? Eh, don't really want to worry about it now, is what it is. Just happy we are getting the game.

I posted this earlier in the thread:

http://personacentral.com/genei-ibun-roku-fe-japanese-release-date-on-december-26-2015-dlc-costumes-revealed/

If you bought the console bundle you also got a card for three support quests.

Here was all the DLC available and prices day 1:

Costumes

Tokyo Millennium Collection: includes “cosplay” costumes , made by Maiko (Maid Eleanora, Santa Tsubasa, Nurse Kiria) [400 Yen]

Let’s go to the Hot Springs! Fortuna Girls: a set of costumes for the female characters. You will also be able to watch a special program on the TV in the office (a hot spring TV show, where you can check out the characters wearing the swimsuits) [500 Yen]

Let’s go to the Hot Springs! Fortuna Boys: a set of costumes for the male characters. You will also be able to watch a special program on the TV in the office (a hot spring TV show, where you can check out the characters wearing the swimsuits) [300 Yen]Bundle with all 3 sets of costumes [1 000 Yen]

Support quests

Mirage Hunter – Experience Tale: allows you to get XP easily [400 Yen]

Mirage Hunter – Proficiency Tale: allows you to get items that improve the proficiency of your weapons, and allow your characters to learn skills faster [400 Yen]

Mirage Hunter – Wild Festival: allows you to fight large groups of rare enemies that drop stat-enhancing items [400 Yen]

Bundle with all three support quests [1 000 Yen]

http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/genei-ibun-roku-fe-guide-books-details-and-screens-for-the-dlc/

You can see that four of sets are equal price at 400 yen. The support quests and the cosplay costumes, I assume the crossover costumes would be the same.

The Swimsuit DLC is uneven because of the different number of males to females and as such has different prices. Even if they put it all together for the US release it wouldn't only be $2 like the rest.

This really sucks. While that TV show sounds a bit weird I love having my characters in RPG's sometimes wear swimsuits for the ridiculousness. It's how I played most of Xenosaga.

I didn't like the swimsuit removal in Fatal Frame V but considering we got Zelda and Zero Suit costumes and Japan didn't I considered it at least square.

This is an actual loss of content.

I wish we could organize something to communicate to NOA that we shouldn't lose access to content.

I'm actually very afraid for future Xeno games. Xenoblade Chronicles X had ready risqué swimsuits that still happily made it to the West. I live the ridiculousness of playing in swimsuits for the Xeno games.

lol, too bad Nintendo. You thought panties were too risqué but your changes won't stop me! Spats are my fetish, I'll be masturbating furiously to this now, see where your changes get you Nintendo, you dirty pervs!

I wonder what's taking Amazon so long to put this up.

They know we know that they know that the Internet knows that it will sell out instantly. Gotta be sneaky...

EDIT: And as for loss of content this is getting silly. Whenever new announcements come out for a Japanese localization the first questions we see getting asked now is "how much is getting altered/removed/censored." It really shouldn't be like that.

it really shouldn't be, but all these games keep going to Nintendo for some reason and Nintendo will do what Nintendo does.

If it's not a big problem, I think I'll make a new thread for the localization news since that seems like something that deserves its own spotlight away from a thread still waiting for an Amazon link. Feel free to drop that 4chan rumor in there if you want to, Flux.

Edit: And posted!

"I'm sorry, but we're not privy to upcoming additions/releases on our site. Keep checking back to see if we receive any stock"

omg when it is gonna be in stock on Amazon aaaaarrrgggghhhh

Nintendo can't even allow us see a grown woman in a swimsuit in Fire Emblem.

Are the females in these swimsuits going to have a curtain covering their ass in battle?

Sad thing is that this is what will comprise the majority of conversations when a new Fire Emblem is announced. Not the gameplay, not the characters, not how the story will suck a fat one because IntSys can't write a decent story for shit, but whether or not that one female character's left buttock will be covered up in the NoA version or how a shorts and a t-shirt combo might get removed over here because it reveals their arms and legs.

I exaggerate of course, (because the moment they actually do the latter is the moment they've officially gone off the deep end) but
hopefully
you can see where I'm coming from.

nooo, but FE got the hot springs :-<
how bad it could be?

I'm just happy we're actually getting it! Having a Special Edition is just icing on the cake.

Amazon pls hurry up

We got hot-springs and stuff in Fire Emblem Awakening, I don't see why not in this game which seems to have a greater focus on fanservice.

Wondering if i should pick this up even though i don't own a wii u.

I'm picking it up as well and don't currently own a Wii U. I've also picked up a couple other games recently like the Pikmin 3 reprint and Bayonetta 2. I may get a Wii U in the future or a NX if its BC but with some of these Wii U games going oop and being expensive on the after market I want to be safer than sorry.

We also got swimsuits in Xenoblade X yet the swimsuits ended up being removed in Fates.
At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if NoA opted to remove hot springs in TMS despite it being present in Fates.

I find it funny that Nintendo feels so strongly about Censorship yet it has stuff like Senran Kagura on the 3DS.

For those waiting for Amazon it's best to compare this to the Xenoblade Chronicles X Limited Edition. That was also given a Limited Edition a few months after the announcement of the release date and a few before it proper. That slowly rolled out across retailers across multiple weeks. In fact Best Buy got it 3 or 4 weeks after it first showed up. I suspect Amazon won't put this up till next week like Xenoblade X.

Yeah. The were a ton of ridiculous outfits in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Lin even got to still wear them just wearing a sports bra and shorts (an excellent addition imo). A small sample below.

Same. I got xenoblade X and not pikmin though. Getting this for sure.

Same here I have a good feeling this is gonna be one of those games Nintendo might not print that much due to how niche it is. Then again Atlus games always stay in print for a long time, you can still get a new copy of Persona 4 for around $20.

If Nintendo yet again cuts content I may just be skipping this like I ended up skipping FE Fates and Bravely Second. I buy a lot of games. I average 4 per month and on especially busy months I've bought 7-8. I buy Collector's Editions, Season Passes, DLC, and even Amiibo.

I'm a whale Nintendo, stop giving me reasons to not give you money. I'm really sick of being told that a Japanese person can handle something and it's appropriate for them, but it's not okay for me because I'm American and only speak English. Frankly, it's pretty insulting.

Yea I did get P4 on PS2 with the partial OST inside for around that much. I feel like this will be a Devil's third situation in terms of print run although now that there's an LE it makes me think this will get a larger run overall? I dont know. I even bought some Wii games I found cheap in store like Radiant Dawn sealed for 15$ before the reprint(?) happened.

I'm a little annoyed I missed out on the EU version of Bayo 2 LE with that amazing packaging though.

Hmm, never saw it this way.

You got something to say about America, Nintendo?!
Last line is a joke, but I meant the first.

Blame it on all the whiny and sensitive people that complain about everything.

I wonder if you are Nintendo's target audience.

Not saying Nintendo is kiddy, but they certainly do attract a lot of the younger audiences. And they probably don't want to anger the parents who keep buying Nintendo stuff for their kids.

I don't think the censorship/localization is done with core and/or adult gamers in mind.

That's my 2 cents, I might be completely wrong.

I personally do not mind. I'm loving Fire Emblem Fates.
