Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Special Edition - $79.99 | Best Buy US pre-orders back up

As always, I'm pretty neutral about these sort of content lapses, why ruin my experience playing the game by being angry over the small shit. That being said, 4chan posts are hit-or-miss a lot of the times anyhow, so I'm gonna see if it means we don't actually get the DLC or if it means it's not a pack-in.

If your audience is already the niche anime-watching crowd that owns a Wii U, Why cut things that they may enjoy ?
Because American parents might be outraged at kids seeing scantily clad video game characters? It's the only thing that comes to mind.

I wonder if you are Nintendo's target audience.

If by target audience you mean someone that likes Nintendo games, then yes, I am their target audience and have been since the NES. I never grew up, you see.

Not saying Nintendo is kiddy, but they certainly do attract a lot of the younger audiences.

You know, Nintendo is teh kiddys.

And they probably don't want to anger the parents who keep buying Nintendo stuff for their kids.

I somehow doubt the target audience for this game are kids. The reason for the changes is simply due to differences in cultures. Having, for example, a little girl in skimpy clothing is simply not acceptable (at least not in vidyagames), regardless if the game is intended for adults. Actually, if it's intended for adults, it's even fucking worse to have teen girls in skimpy clothing. If you want to see half-naked lolitas, then play the original Japanese release.

I don't think the censorship/localization is done with core and/or adult gamers in mind.

If you are a grown ass man and want to see half naked lolitas, then dot dot dot

I personally do not mind. I'm loving Fire Emblem Fates.

I don't really care if the game comes intact from Japan and has tentacles raping 8 year old girls, but if a company changes that in localization because it's something that clashes with the culture and/or will attract negative media attention, then by all means they have my support to change it. Only people that complain about that are otakus and Japanese wannabees, which should be playing the Japanese version anyways with the pre-pubescent content intact.

(Not talking about this game specifically, but in general regarding these lolita oriented Japanese games that get 'censored' when localized.)

Anyway, when will god damned amazon put up the limited edition. I want to preorder it so I can enjoy my censored teen lolitas in non-skimpy clothing.

So they kept Camilla's design as is in Fates why?

That's what annoys me about the censorship the most. What they cut has no rhyme or reason. It makes no sense.

This game is one of the best RPGs to come since a lot of time and i'm glad more people will get to enjoy it. Didnt knew that the hot Springs was going to be censored, but i never got it and iy didnt impact the game in any way. Having no panties also changes little, since they rarely appear.

The 4chan post successfully:

- Guessed the game's English name (how could someone asspull "Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE"?)
- Guessed that it would only have Japanese audio (not many were even thinking about that possibility before the Direct)
- Guessed that Atlus USA would be localizing the game under NoA (an unprecedented kind of deal that not many people were even thinking about as well)

I mean, I absolutely understand cynicism towards random message board "insider" posts, but at some point it becomes unwarranted.

You can't remove her for being a top heavy woman, but all swimsuit costumes were removed from Fates IIRC.

I wonder if Nintendo hired someone recently that's part of the localization team, they were all about embracing sexuality in games at the beginning of the generation and then around maybe 2015 maybe late 2014 they got weirdly strict, usually they'D just age the girl up or something, but now they'ed age the girl up, but then say you cant look at them in a swim suit, which is really stupid especially if you live somewhere in California or florida.
I wonder if it's because of GG that made it so negative to like things like showing skin in games.

My point is Camilla's design is FAR, FAR more suggestive and sexual than swimsuits. There isn't a single person on the planet that would consider something like the censored Tharja butt picture in Awakening more explicit than Camilla's general design.

Still don't see it on Amazon. As far as censorship is concerned it's a dumb thing to do. For many of the reasons previously mentioned. Camilla is suggestive, no problem, swimsuits are suggestive, expunge them. It's dumb.

Maybe there are disagreements within the localization teams

I mean when you say this is a-okay:

but this still photo is not:

You look like a joke.

I get the feeling Camilla was left alone due to her being featured in the prerendered 3D CGs (the #FE 3D CGs were changed before Japanese release, and not just localization, right?)

I really don't get Nintendo and DLC. We get the DLc free for Xenoblade, but FE and this we still have to pay for despite it being out in Japan for many months. Blahz

I'm guessing that footage is from a downloaded version since everyone is saying the physical version is really apparent in load times.

The still image looks like she's taking off the swimsuit, which the ESRB might have freaked out over or something.

We don't really know what goes into these decisions, and it's not like they'll ever tell us, but just speculating that "they did it because they were stupid" is a little...

To me it looks like she just finished putting on her swimsuit and is adjusting the bottom. Still though, can't deny that some of their latest localization decisions have not made much sense.

I think T-ratings can be pushed quite a bit a ways though. I'm still surprised the first Senran Kagura game came out here with a T. Some of the XCX costumes are much more risque than anything Fire Emblem could dream of. With that said, I generally don't mind visual changes as long as the changes they make don't butcher the design, giving Kiria pants was a good change in this.

For those wondering, GameStop has pre-orders open in store. Just put one in and canceled my online order with them to avoid having to pay for shipping.

I swear to god if this thing sells out on Amazon while I'm sleeping.

I won't be too angry since this is kind of a shit special edition but I still would like to have it if I can (for 20% off).

I think the fun part of these is the fact that we KNOW people are going to miss out because they never make enough of these things.
