I don't think their statement was invalid considering what we know about their games.
Except it was just a shitpost, especially knowing that PSVR has very specific framerate requirements.
If anything, it will have a smooth framerate with scaled back detail. Example: Scholar of the First Sin has a near 60 fps on PS4/Xone.
They really should take a year or two break from making a Souls type game.
Armored Core please.
Give Souls a break
I believe that there's a mistake in interpreting that video.
It's not talking about one specific game. "title" is the usual mistake when translating from Japanese. Japanese doesn't have plural and singular. It probably means "titleS"
"2017-" means "2017 and beyond." (notice the "-")
"PS4, Xbox One, PC, Playstation Vr..." (notice the "...").
Means that they will develop for those platforms and possibly more.
The correct interpretation should be that in the future they're gonna develop for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation VR and more (so yeah, possibly also NX. Remember that this video was posted before the NX's release window was announced).
IE: it doesn't say anything specific about a specific game, but more about their general intentions for the next few years.
Seriously, this B team or Miyazaki team discussion needs to end. There are different developers working on different games in every single software house that has more than an handful of developers.
Miyazaki has not a favourite group of developers, it just happened that during Bloodborne development he was put to work directly on Bloodborne because i think it was a new IP and they wanted to make a really great game, compared to Dark Souls 2 that was an already established IP after Dark Souls 1.
The worst of this discussion is using this difference as to say: the great awesome Miyazaki team and the low tier, B team.
I'm curious, did people that didn't enjoy or like Dark Souls 3 have already looked at credits, maybe there are traces of B team developers influencing some bad Ds3 design or gameplay choices...
It's hilarious. Yui Tanimura (director of Dark Souls 2) co-directed Dark Souls 3. And as mentioned before, plenty of people on Dark Souls 2 worked on Bloodborne also. Some people really have no idea what they're talking about.
Are they gonna start marketing at E3 or TGS?
Read the DS2 Design Works interview. Tanimura (and his producers) admit that they didn't handle the development of DS2 well and felt they weren't experienced enough. They even mention certain points in the game that they could've handled better.
In DS3, Tanimura's working under Miyazaki's supervision. Whilst I agree with you that there's no such thing as an entire "B-Team", it's quite clear that the absence of Miyazaki in DS2 lead to some (self-admitted) directorial issues.
But Tecmo said they were developing a title for NX
I have read it. The fact is that the original director left the project leaving Tanimura to make the best that he could with little supervision off Miyazaki was what led to the original release of Dark Souls 2. I think Tanimura obviously had a lot of potential due to his experience as a planner since the days of Armored Core 2 and I think Miyazaki sees that in him also. The SOTFS release of Dark Souls 2, to me, was a lot better than vanilla Dark Souls 2 was, especially since Tanimura and the rest of the designers could have the time to finish the game, like actually place enemies in areas where it was otherwise just empty and felt unfinished and rebalanced the game in a lot of
He said "Next FS exclusive for PS4 currently in development is a Sony published first party title, like Bloodborne, and is a JRPG." Hopefully we get info on that soon.

Either way doesnt namco somehow owns from software? Still strange.
Too bad I was hoping for a dark souls trilogy on nx. And I would buy it.Kadokawa owns From.
Until the platform is officially revealed nobody is making games for it bar NintendoWhere is NX?
Frame-pacing issues in VR...
