Weekly Brawl is pretty fun to get used to playing different characters. My favorites so far....

Lucio, Mei, Zenyatta, Bastion, and Junkratt

On console It's fine when it's one or two people learning how to play a team class shooter for the first time but when it's your whole team, and your up against another team that knows what they are doing, idk, it is rough. It's no fun being the only player going for the objectives as Tracer.

I get the intention but it's kinda frustrating when the defense team eventually ends up with characters like widow, torb, bastion and it's an uphill battle to kill them with whatever inappropriate heroes it gives you.

It was pretty funny seeing my team end up with 4 d-vas though.

I played the weekend beta in November. Has much changed since then? I love the gameplay, but I felt the maps were lacking in that there were a lot of dead ends and it was difficult to traverse the map after you died since they are quite large.

I see people are learning the ways of our lords and saviors Junkrat and Lucio.

May I also suggest Queen Symmetra, master of getting your team back in position before it's too late after they mess up, especially for far away objectives.

Mercy is also incredible if you can dodge around well and pick who to heal quickly and correctly, but she takes more practice, especially since her ultimate is no longer global range.

Correct, Open Beta starts on Friday.

I'm really digging it so far, been itching for a good team FPS game.
So far I'm liking Pharah, Soldier 76, Mercy and Torbjörn. D.Va seemed the most interesting to me, but she hasn't really clicked yet, although I think this will improve once I get to know the game better and work on my situational awareness.

The commendations are pretty neat as well, for some reason, despite my team losing, I got an epic commendation for having 50% of my rockets be a direct hit as Pharah.

12 isn't so bad considering the game is 40 bucks (I mean, they're pushing the 60 dollar doodad edition, but I mean) but yeah, hopefully we get some kinda updates in this department as time goes on.
The game is $40? Fuck me I bought the $60 version on PS4....digitally.

Yeah I like placing spawn portals aa Symmetra, also unlocked a sweet legendary skin .

On consoles it's only available for $60.

It's kind of hilarious though since the real value of the bundle is for PC gamers, since half the vanity items are for PC games, and Tracer in Heroes is probably the most valuable item.

So is it possible to get loot/xp/whatever by playing against AI? Are all modes available to play vs AI? I have a couple of friends who might play it, but they definitely favor playing AI at this point and we'd rarely if ever have enough for a full team.

I played some this morning before going to work, tutorial, target practice and a match vs bots.

I'm impressed by how smooth and polished this game is. Animations are great and other developers should take lessons from how intuitive the UI is for different heroes. For example, when trying out Mercy in target practice, I could immediately see how the "fly towards ally" worked, who I could resurrect etc. I can't praise the UI enough.

I love how many heroes there are and how different each of them feel. It will take time to master each of them. I think this will be a game I will be playing a lot.

I bought it on PS4 because of friends being there.

Who knows I may double dip on PC if I like it enough. Had a blast last night with the teleporting girl. What's her name again?

Yes to your first question, not sure on the second but probably. I played against AI until I was level 5 I believe.

I need to practice playing as Lucio. I didnt know what the fuck I was doing when I tried him. Seems fun, though.

I can't believe how smooth it is. 60 FPS like butter on X1. Remarkable. Love the eye popping colors.

Was so worried I'd overhyped this game but I played 5 hours last night and had such a fun time! Watching a twitch streams is nothing compared to actually playing it. Heroes I never thought I'd like ended up blowing me away with how fun they are. Highlight was when Genji finally clicked for me and I went 50-11 and we managed to pull off a crazy tense comeback. Can't wait to jump back in!

Junkrat/Lucio have been my go-to guys for so long I've started trying to branch out to others. But yeah they are great. I will never not laugh when I get shot in the back by a Reaper who immediately dies to Junkrat's death explosion.

I got some time in on Mercy last night and I think I finally 'get' her but I still like Lucio better. It was fun following a Roadhog and getting infinite ultimate meter, quickly swapping to damage boost mode every time he threw out a hook so that he'd splatter whoever he caught.

Symmetra I think I'll only play on maps I know, and since most of the maps currently are new to me I'll hold off. Need to learn where to put teleporters and turrets.

Never liked playing support roles in any game.....but Lucio if by far my favorite.

Have you played him on Ilos yet? It's the Greek island map, if you haven't played it yet then get ready for fun. Lucio just right clicking people off the objective and into the sea all day long... amazing!

I'm taking advantage of the Call of Duty mentality people have. I put three of Symmetra's turrets in a room not even close to the main path, yet people kept heading there and getting picked off.

Didn't read the thread so apologizes if it's already been answered, but can you customize the controls per hero (PS4)?

Yes, just use the drop down menu up top when you're in controls. Shame that they simplified the control options so much. I get why, but still sucks, I don't need weapon swap for every character

Who is the blonde guy I see people using? Has a assault rifle type gun. Can't seem to find him?

That's a skin for Soldier 76.

Lucio is so awesome to play as. He can be a game changer on the team.

Lucio is by far my favorite, but it sucks when the other team catches on and starts targeting you. My best game so far with Lucio was one where I only died several times and healed the team for 44% damage taken. I was basically on fire for the entire match and we won.

This was it...the final nail...Im just so sick of FPSs that even a new unique experience like this just feels like the same old horrid spawn die repeat experience...

Game looks nice, runs nice, seems fresh, I think they have something good here, but I think I need to get lost in a massive RPG for a long while.

it's ridiculous how I had to wait for 10 minutes at least to find a match when I was in a party of 2. meanwhile when I go solo it takes 5 seconds.

the game is pretty fun.

Eh why is the client saying "no overwatch license found" when it says I own the game in the fuckin bnet launcher -.-

nvm: I needed to use the beta key lol

D.Va seems OP, but she is so damn fun to use. Especially if you can pull of a self destruct and survive.

D.Va, Lucio, Torbjorn, and Hanzo are my current favorites.

I played for around 4 hours last night. Went to sleep and had dreams about this game lol. Luckily, I'm off and can play a good while today. It's so fun.

It's easy to survive. Use the boost and then jump out. Watch your mech being a boosting bomb.
