I can't wait to get in on this beta, Thursday can't come soon enough.

This guy, so dope!

This beta seems pretty featured, is it essentially the full game? Are there going to be features in the release version not present in the beta?

So does the beta really just include everything in the game?
The beta is essentially the full game. all the maps modes and characters that are in the full game are in this beta. for full launch i wouldn't be surprised if we get a few more unlocks and then competitive mode will release shortly after the game launches. Blizzard has also said that they will be supporting the game for years to come and that we should expect to see new maps modes and heros this year iirc
Will the beta stats/level remain for the full release?
NO.
The last game i heard of that beta progress carried over was paragon?
it very uncommon for games to keep progress from beta.

To all if you Mei pros, if you manage to freeze someone with the close range attack, is continuing that same attack the best option for damage? It seems rather weak when they are finally frozen but I can't tell if there's a better option.

Right click headhshot

By the same token, it's sad how little African and Latino representation there is: just Pharah and Lucio. There are more non human characters than African or Latino characters. They also don't have any lines in their native languages.

Don't be that guy. The penalty is you no longer gain XP.

I am pretty sure Pharah is Egyptian.

Hanzo is my dude out of all characters so far. He seems to benefit a lot from the added aim assist in console versions and that scatter shot is just brutal. Love one hit killing people.

Still having a blast today. I wish I was better about counter picking. We pushed the convoy all the way to the end in Route 66 but the other team pulled out 3 bastions and shut us down since it's a narrow interior in the final stretch. Couldn't think of how to counter it.

Winston is a great hard counter to bastion

How does Lucio's support stuff work? it's just proximity to others right, and then that boost ability increases it for a short time?

If I'm not mistaken, its just that you have to be in LoS of someone to heal them. The boost ability just adds a big boosts to the effect of whatever active music aura you have up at the time.

okay after some real multiplayer time I can say it is FUN but it's lacking any excitement - like I want to go back. I played some matches and that's okay... it's not pulling me back in. :/

No?

His leap plus shield allows you to flank Bastion extremely well.

Flanking bastion doesn't work unless you have a burst ability like McCree's right click or roadhog's hook+shotgun. Otherwise bastion will just turn immediately and shred you
and winstons shield might as well be made of paper for how long it lasts

Just had my first game as Reaper.

18-4 and fucked up any kind of snipers/healers they had

That teleport be da shit yo

Assuming primal is down, forcing Bastion out of turret is such high utility for your team, coupled with your ability to out maneuver him while he's getting out of turret.

Most guides have I've seen have Winston as a counter, and I am inclined to agree with what what I've seen while playing.

What do the orange icons in the top left corner mean? I always see a lightning bolt with a circle (?). Something to do with my connection?

I had zero hype for this game because initially it was being referenced as a moba and that style of game doesnt interest me. Then I heard its more of a class/objective based PvP and I started paying attention. After playing it last night with some friends we were all convinced within a couple hours that this will be our new MP game for a very long time. Even my wife who isnt too into PvP style games was having a ton of fun with it.

All my friends were busy today so I got a chance to play with randoms for a while. Pleased to report that the internet at large still doesn't seem to grasp the concept of standing in a giant-ass glowing square to make a bar fill up.

What do the flames mean arround your character at the bottom left? There is also a small bar at te bottom?

As you do better, the meter fills up and then you become "on-fire". This is just a flame around your portrait as an indicator to enemies/teammates of who is performing well.

I love Torbjorn, especially with his ult you can pop in a group of people and really cause havoc.

Really need to play him more. Played him ones and find alof confusing. Not really a idea what the deal was with him and what to do?

Ah oke cool.

Your thinking of battleborn, Overwatch was never positioned as a moba, they came out day 1 saying its a competitive shooter

One thing to do with Torbjorn is to always have a turret down. The level 1 costs nothing and can do a decent amount of damage. Try and place it in an area where it can only be accessed from behind by your team or put it somewhere that it is somewhat protected.

Leveling it to level 2 takes 6 hits from your hammer. I would put one down at the start of the map and level it up and then leave it. Your main gun does solid damage (the projectile arcs at range) and the right-click is a spread for close up. The spread does pretty well at covering doors and can take out Tracer.

I would work at bothering the other team with my teammates and having the turret provide support from afar. I would never repair it unless there wasn't an active firefight. Sometimes I would swing by and kill the person attacking it because they focus on it and not you.

Your Q gives you like 500 armor and makes you stronger. It also temporarily makes your turret level 3 that shoots rockets as well. I have used it to get a couple triple kills and one quad kill. Got a play of the game due to it (and turret wasn't even involved in that one).

Also every time someone dies they drop scraps, when you get 50 scraps you can give out armor packs. Always make sure you have armor on and then throw out armor packs for your teammates to pick up.

Edit: also don't be Torbjorn on attack. If your team is pushing properly, the field moves too much and your turret will become useless.

Yep. Second day is almost worse than the first. So many people tryin to make da playz for dayz boyz. We had a game with two tracers that were absolutely fucking useless along with a torbjorn on attack. Worst game ever.

What characters have people found they've liked but didn't expect to? I've been playing a bunch of the random hero mode so the game forces me (and everyone else) to just use a hero until I die so I learn to use them and how they can fit into the current situation.

I'm really liking Mei but didn't expect to. She has a lot of utility and is really good at defending points. I thought she'd just be like, a TF2 pyro but freezing but her icicle does good damage and has good range, her self heal/ice block is neat for blocking or camping a point in safety and the ice wall is super good for defence or traversal.

Reaper is so dumb, a true "I am the badass" hero. DIE DIE DIE. oh come on...

Usually I just sigh at try-hard edgelords like that but I kinda think Reaper is just over the top it loops around again. Like, his name, abilities, throwing away shotguns, his look, his quotes. It's just so "I'm badass" that it's laughable.
