Oh, I get Symmetria now.

She's not really a support class, but more of a defender or her own thing: locking down a room, babysitting portals, and attacking heroes like a Pyro in TF2.

The other thing you can do is right click charge and repeatedly send bolts through the incoming assault line. Symmetra projectiles aren't blocked by the Reinhardt shield and will demolish anybody behind him.
 
Just got a 19 kill streak with Diva, 4 kills of which were in one go with my ult.

Play of the match goes to Bastion sitting in tank mode. brahokalks

The highest killstreak I've got in this game is 12 and it was with D'va. The ol' bump and shoot does wonders against non tank characters, but once someone sees your shenanigans tanks are all over the place.
 
Widowmaker would have trouble getting through the shield. Pharrah on the other hand just aims the rockets at the walls at the edge of the shield while Junkrat bounces grenades in (or ults in) and they kill the Bastion with splash.



Roadhog hook is blocked by Reinhardt shield.


it's not you against the world. you can maneuver around reinhardt or your other teammates will get Reinhardt's attention.

Good for you, but just because you can counter him it doesn't mean it something everyone can do in pubs.

But there are ways to counter. It's not some hopeless idea. I played in one of the stress test beta's where Bastion had his OWN frontal invincible shield. That was when Bastion was OP.

now, he's lightwork.
 
Shoot Reinhardt's Shield. It always perplexes me that people don't shoot his shield. Take it down and Reinhardt is a weakened mass for a bit. Especially if you're Widowmaker.
 
Who works well against him? The last match I played a Bastion received the replay at the end of the game and he didn't move once lol. Everytime I tried to cross this area there he was..same spot as always.

Pharah can one shot him I think with a direct rocket? It's either that or two hit.

They're talking about when Reinhardt just sits on top of a Bastion in pugs.

im aware of this. and I have went against this. he can't just be prone and idle on top of bastion forever, unless your whole team is afk

Oh yeah, there's that too.

You could also use it to bait the offense into running into your turret murder doom room.

Although sometimes even if there isn't one you can straight up murder them by running around their body and avoiding their crosshairs.
 
Getting stuck with a dysfunctional team is miserable.

Tell me about it bud. I tried out some tank character with a shield and my whole team insisted on running ahead of my shield into a shitstorm and getting whipped out. Just..I don't know...lets push but behind the shield? I'm about to buy this game for my friend that can't afford it so I can communicate with at least one person.
 
You get a crate every time you level up. There is no level cap and the XP required to level up caps at 22k per level. You basically get a crate every 15-20 matches, I think, once you hit the XP cap.



Credits can be used to buy individual items (skins, emotes, sprays, etc.), not more crates.
It's like 5-7 games per level at max, and unless they fix/change it every time you roll over 100 your xp to level goes back down so you get a nice bump.

Almost any character with strong sniping/peeking can get him, any flanker, any lobbed shots. He's weak to plenty. Your issue is you keep trying to cross knowing he's in the same place. Change to something else and peek shot destroy him, or pick a flanker/flyer and go around that choke and annihilate him.

As far as Rein + Bast goes, yeah it's strong but Reinhardt's shield WILL get killed if you guys keep shooting it, it doesn't regenerate unless he puts it away. A solo player that can kill a bastion, can kill a reinhardt + bastion too. At some point you can't say "Hey there are 3 or 4 of them on the other team working together and none of us are! It's unbeatable!" like...if they have even a modicum of teamwork and you don't, yes you're going to have to work harder. I find most people that say that don't try to be a voice of reason on their own team either, people that think you know what you're talking about will listen, they don't like losing either. Simply using your voice chat every game will turn at least 25-50% of those shitty teams into at least passable ones because you'll get 1-2 people to listen to what you're saying.

The widowmaker should've ended his life almost immediately. His bullets DO fall off and his accuracy goes to shit at range.

If you ever want to see how to counter a character, play as them. See what frustrates you from that side. A widowmaker at range feels literally unkillable as bastion (and it basically is, as it should be).

What is the bar in the corner with the flame looking icon? Is it the XP bar?
 
Symmetra is all about keeping that teleporter safe so you got a never ending stream of reinforcements and putting your turrets into place so that all the rushers and flankers like Reaper and co. get GTFOd by them.

I had a game earlier on Gibraltar where I kept my turrets up on the door in the shuttlebay and got 24 turret kills while my teleporter was up the entire round.
My friend was playing Roadhog and chain pulling people into my turrets.

It was a riot.
 
I have to 'fess up and admit I played a game as Bastion where I sat in the corner in tank mode defending the payload and didn't move all game. I have no regrets.

"on fire" meter. It's just an indication of your current hotness during a game, like if you go on a minute long rampage you'll be on fire, if you start getting shut down it'll cool off.
 
I can't get my mic to work with group chat. I know the mic works as I'm talking to my friend on skype with it. Anything known about this or is it me?
 
Pharah is pretty solid once you understand how to rocket jump and exploit her float with it.
Rocket jump -> Hold L2 -> pause -> Press L1 -> Hold L2 pretty much covers half of most maps.

Once you know where the health packs are in each region, you can weave in and out of combat without ever touching the ground, and take all the health packs whenever you are low.

Nothing's more satisfying than taking to the air and leaping onto a Widow's nest and 2 rocketing her and using the verticality to get behind enemy placements and take out Bastions/turrets etc.

The only problem for me right now is that I'm not familiar enough with the layout of the maps and health packs to use her effectively. Too much downtime running back to base to heal up. Also her and Mercy go amazing together
 
What is the liking thing about

It's basically just you going "hey that was cool, keep it up"

Like say a guy healed the shit out of his team, you give him a like to say "yo,dude,you did great, keep doing what you're doing"

They wanted to appeal to the Facebook audience

In a lot of other games, shields don't take damage. It's player programming to wait it out.
 
On console, what can you rebind the communication menu to? I tried to bind it to Triangle instead of Up so I could use it more, but if you do that it doesnt actually let you select any comms.

Does shooting the center part work better than just shooting anywhere on it? I noticed I could freeze it, for whatever reason.
 
in the middle left side of the screen there are some orange icons that sometimes pop up, anyone know what those are?

Ping and packetloss. I think the squares are packets being lost and the other one is saying your ping is so high that you're likely to have worse estimates about the game locally. When you were complaining about getting killed and not matching up with the other guy's screen, that is why. Your actions are beyond the limit of what the server is accepting as 'no really I didn't get hit'
 
Rekt with friends all day,

then played against people that used 2 Meis and it was the most obnoxious shit ever. Absolutely got rekt by their weird "no tank but 2 Meis" setup.

It's odd I was getting that the other day, but the ping was a steady 80ms. Didn't notice anything else off either.

I get it all the time tbh, but it's not really bad unless you're super high ping. It does mean though that you will occasionally die or shoot at someone and not feel like it responded right. Especially with shooting it's noticeable because it means you're outside of the 'prefer the shooter' range of latency afaik. It'll prefer you, but like 0.001 seconds in the past type of thing.

Like, I've been avoiding him because I found demoman to be one of my best in TF2 and Junkrat just doesn't feel as rewarding. Well, that, and I've played the demoman for hundreds of hours, I can play some of the others first.
 
Too many play this as a Deathmatch when often im the only idiot thats trying to escort the objective..

That's the issue with literally every objective based game. It's so frustrating. I mean, games now even highlight the objective through walls, with an outline, some kind of glow, big words and labels and people still decide "nah, I'm gonna stay waaaaaaaaaay over here and not contribute at all".

Had a super annoying game yesterday on a King of the hill match. Had two Bastions just standing outside the point when it was controlled by the enemy, on our side of the map, seemingly trying to "guard" our base. Like, no, guys, they are literally all in that glowy square right now, can you guys move with me and not be turrets defending our spawn from nothing?

Junkrat is crazy scary at area denial in a game where your lobbing grenades have infinite ammo, just a set clip size. By contrast I remember the demoman's starting ammo count being drastically nerfed early on to 2 additional clips. Hanamura defending A is super strong with him, by lobbing nades non stop at angles in the choke and the upper window.

Hes just spam friendly. Good junkrats have mobility and can direct hit people in motion.

There is a big difference between a good and bad junkrat
