ND has a flawless record. They have not made a bad game.

They're not worried. I'm not worried. My Playstation is not worried.

Oh I know, I'm not worried either, I'm pretty sure this will by Game of the Year, but it's still good to see early reviews, as it's a rare thing these days.

I don't think being excited for reviews of the biggest game released so far this gen is embarassing.
You know I mean the "meltdowns" if it gets anything less than a 9.9

Always a chore to read people who haven't played a game say so firmly that someone who has is wrong.

The only embarrassing thing I've noticed with UC4 reviews approaching is people frothing at the mouth to see meltdowns of other gaffers if a couple low scores crop up.

It's bizarre to me to have such an approach :/
Just as sad as the meltdowns over low scores.

Haha yeah, I guess that's fair enough.

I'm not sure if the reviews will be as perfect/glowing as I thought anymore. I've been playing for about 6 hours and I'm sure it gets much better, but what I've played so far is just good, but not mindblowing (well except the graphics are mindblowing). It takes a while longer to get to the "meat" of Uncharted gameplay, unlike U2, which has break-neck pacing from the first 5 minutes, and I think this may influence some reviewers.

I switched to an alt account to ditch my embarrassing tag so I could be an embarrassing Naughty Dog fanboy in peace. Ask me anything!

Then a review thread for a game should only open after the game has released. Because one cannot criticize or praise the review without having played it.

You don't to criticise or praise a review to engage with it.

That happens when your whole gaming life revolves around one or two games per year, you become obsessed and unable to process dissent.

Seems very unhealthy and sad to me.

"soap opera" level dialogue between certain characters is a worrisome note for me (though this person doesn't really explain what they mean) -- the dialogue in TLOU was really solid. Stripped down, not too stilted, not too much shoe-horned exposition, just enough to realistically paint the characters and their relationships.

However, despite the great voice acting, I'm not a fan of the writing in U2 (only one I've played). Considering the writers, I'd assume U4 would be more in the vein of TLOU. Very interested to see more reviewers on this point.

Fully expecting rave reviews similar to Bloodborne. It's Naughty Dog behind this and their track record is stellar. Predicting 94 Metacritic.

The writing in UC2 is one of the main reasons that game is a joy. Reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Ark (or a good episode of Tintin): entertaining, charming adventure anchored by likable characters (also the best entries in their franchises). Great relationships (Flynn, Elena/Chloe love triangle) and great quips/banter.

"Face it genius you've been played"- Drake in his cell always gets me. The ending is great too! You sure you didn't smile as the credits rolled? lol jk

That said I'm hoping UC4 tops it in the story department. From the trailers and demos it looks like they've struck a great balance between fun adventure with some emotional weight. I hope!

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best scoring games of the generation. I'm going to say first week Metacritic average of 95.

It just looks so great and all the impressions so far have been incredibly positive. I am bias though as a big uncharted fan. Got next week off, so I'll devote a few days to getting through the campaign.
