Why doesn't Metacritic had those?

Gamereactor Norway 10/10
Gamereactor Sweden 10/10
Gamereactor Danmark 10/10
Gamreactor Germany 9/10
Gamereactor UK 9/10

I expected a lot more 8.5's.

I didn't

does this game borrow encounter design from TLoU or is it more like the infinite wave of enemies from the previous games? don't want to read reviews due to spoilers.

Watch GTA 6 get 99.

GTA is pretty much the only thing right now that gets these scores. I remember laughing my ass off at the GamePro review of GTA V back then. It got declared as the best game of all time. 97/100. I freaking loved that game, but seeing a review with the tagline "The best game of all time", coming from the biggest gaming publication in Germany was fucking hilarious.

I'd agree that Naughty Dog has done its best to evolve the formula, but I can tell you that some are probably chasing the same impact Uncharted 2 had back in the day. I'm not sure the series can really hit that, but UC4 does its best.

Some new additions work, some don't. Vehicles are cool, but two of the larger vehicle sections rob the game of its pacing. Tagging is nice, but it highlights some of the better stealth options that other games have that are missing here. The grappling hook and more vertical environments is a winner though.

I still think it's great and ultimately it sits at the top for me, but I could see why other reviewers might take issue with it here and there.
I so Get this uc2 was on the same level as halo or cod4 those transitions happen once in a while and are very hard to follow up . Tlou did it characterization wise also from last gen as a ps and PC person I remember uc2 tlou geow journey etc some games are seminal within the context

I bet my friend $50 that this game would review under 90 (Doubled if either of us got the average perfect, me 88 him 96)

Polygon, you're my only hope. Throw down that troll 7/10.

EDIT: Polygon already gave it a 9/10. Well fuck I owe my friend money,

Better hope Ryckert gives it the kiss of death 3 Stars.

To be fair GTA, a numbered one at least, is like a global event on the scale of which no other game compares. Uncharted doesn't have that kind of responsibility or weight behind it and honestly I wouldn't want to have that kind of expectation put on me.

I'm going to go wih a final meta of 94, making it the (currently) best rated game of this gen.

Until P5 and TLG comes along of course.

Cool, appreciate the posts and feedback. I'll be honest, I never once expected it to have the same impact as Uncharted 2, but I think that's more a case of Uncharted Drake's Fortune being less accomplished or bold, and simply leaving more room for improvement than there is for Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 by contrast is already following on from an incredibly high standard, still tied down to the franchise's core fundamentals and systems, so inadvertently restricted by just how much it can evolve.

In any case, my copy should be arriving in the next few hours. Looking forward to getting stuck in.

The thing that bugs me about the IGN review in progress, is why give it a score? Also the phrase 'if we had to review it right now' is terrible, has someone threatened her and made her post it? Weird.

Yep. It's pretty hard to hit that magic again.

Phew! USGamer score shows 4.5/10 on the front page.

Yeah, I call it the shackles of success. You're compared to what you did before and you can't make drastic changes without scaring the fans.

Great reviews across the board. I wonder what game will reach the score of GTA V/TLOU Remastered this gen...
PLEASE DO NOT POST NEW SCREENSHOTS that might contain Spoilers.
Yeah I didn't want to see that Nadine screenshot... (Or the one with Nate punching that guy)

Not surprised, Naughty Dog has been on fire for years now. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Congratulations, can't wait!

Its a mix really. From what I've seen unlike previous uncharted games it doesn't become a wave of enemies rush you until you kill them all. You can hide and avoid enemies and they don't always know where you are. Apparently some sections can be cleared non lethally, which is cool.

93 meta is boring. It's what every good game gets lately. It seems like the highest score games have gotten this gen.

funny enough, all the games that reached a higher total this generation were almost all first released in previous generations.
