Massive congrats to ND!

I know they must've put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this game so I hope they are proud of finishing the UC series with universal acclaim.

Can't wait to play this now, I'm foaming at the mouth after months of media blackout.

Should be new gif in the OP lmao!

Fitting for one of the best action adventure series to end so gracefully, well done Naughty Dawg. Can not wait to finish Nathan Drake's last adventure May 10th!

I'm sick of this culture where we prey on people's enthusiasm and hype because it makes for good "internet" fodder. Mamarobotnik has this famous wall of shame that I'm on, but honestly, a majority of those posts were from people who were genuinely suprised and non hostile. Meltdown culture and being a character is one thing, but we've had people specifically in Uncharted threads not to play the game, but to remind every one they are here to laugh and mock people. IMHO That sort of behavior is just as irresponsible and crass.

I'm super super hyped to play it. I have no doubt this will be one of my favourite games ever made. These scores are amazing and I think that says a lot about ND'S amazing talent.

A 93 rated game can easily win the majority of the GOTY this year. You do realize that this ties for the highest rated game of generation if it holds? I don't see anything else releasing this year that looks much better.

Also LOL at Deus Ex beating this out and say that as a huge fan of Human Revolution.

I get your point, but when choosing the GOTY between games of that top tier range, I don't think the actual score matter as much as the unique qualities of each game. I don't believe this will be the last game in the year to hit that magical range, nor do I believe there won't be a title with more "critically appealing" qualities like Deus Ex (sandbox RPG) to show up before the end of the year.

My point with this is that UC4 will have a tough basis to contend for the title because the qualities that make it an amazing game aren't the ones critics are eyeing for GOTY.

The game does so automatically. Just pause and select Statistics. For example, I stood still for an hour and 12 minutes in total.
That's pretty cool. I'm surprised they'd be transparent about cover.

I plan to keep moving as much as possible. Don't like hiding behind a wall!

huh this is interesting. game scores rarely go up after there is 40+ reviews already posted. I'd be amazed if it climbs back to a 95.

Metacritic review aggregates are spotty and don't necessarily reflect the grand scheme of things. Technically Metal Gear Solid 5 has aggregated higher than both Witcher 3 and Bloodborne- and a majority of people including fans, will agree that assesment is poor at best.

Unfortunately IGNs review has yet to be counted on there. Likely will cause a drop by a point or so.

Yeah

I cant believe the same reviewer gave ROTTR a 9.3 and UC4 a 8.8... I mean, both are very similar gameplay-wise, but UC actually has a story and good writing. Add to that MP component.

Man, I imagine this thread like its a stock exchange as everyone reacts to the metacritic rising and falling and rising again.

Just curious then, why did he end up reviewing it? Not saying you have to be a super fanboy of the series but surely someone who's a loose fan at worst?
He's played all the games to completion. That's all you need, as a critic to comment on how the last game is in relation to the series.

Also, if it takes someone who points out the flaws of the series up to this point (which I'm agreed with him on about prev 3 games having bad AI, mediocre shooting, combat encounters, weak puzzles) to say it's improved on those fundamental aspects, that convinces me more than some diehard fan who usually doesn't take notice of them.

Yeah, we'll see come December. I remember similar claims with previous Uncharted games ("too samey" being a major one). We see how that turned out.

Fair enough.
