Damn, ND creates the unexpected sequel, gets 96 and GOTY
then they create the unexpected IP, gets 95 and GOTY
now they end a franchise, get 94 (for now) and definitely GOTY Nominee

They can't do no wrong. Let's see what they get with the sequel that no one wants.

I have watched and read some reviews, and so far the NX gamer analysis one is the first one to make a point of the "Replay encounter" and how amazing it is with adding replay value.

But most have not touched on anything to do with replay value that i have seen so far.

ROTTR is still considered to be an awesome game.

I'm more surprised by Jim's 85 review, the same as QB, seems weird to me.

He's always respected the franchise but has admitted, he's never been its biggest fan, one reason being the ludo narrative dissonance at Drake not being affected by his mass murdering -- he mentions it in his review and has said it before. There are other reasons of course.

Not that he's wrong or shouldn't be entitled to his opinion, 8.5 is great but that criticism is just one I have never been able to understand.

Naughty Dog is going downhill...

Christ. Best reviewed game I have ever seen but best reviewed sequel for sure.
Not looking at Meta. Just those I trust

So dumb, I hate that shit argument.

IGN 9.0 will fuck it up though (I suppose the final score will be 9)

Would it really make sense for their review score to increase?

If the point of an 'in progress' score is to assess multiplayer in a retail environment, isn't the best case scenario just meeting their expectations? That 8.8 represents the game as played under absolute ideal conditions. How does it have anywhere to go but down?

Beyond 6/10

Just read that one, and yes that is a review I agree with, especially this quote here

Cage has said in interviews that switching between genres and tone was a conscious choice, as nobody’s life is ever one flat note. But this is not a real life. This is a story about a girl and her ghost, and there is a reason filmmakers tend to stick with one genre or another: so as to craft a cohesive narrative. It is unfortunate there is no such discipline to be found here.

Will read her review after its complete, but I didnt really agree with her on the Until Dawn one she did. Any other one she did you remember?

Dont have a problem with the score BTW, 8.8 is pretty fucking great.

She reviewed Rise of the Tomb Raider and was pretty high on the story which, quite frankly, I thought was terrible.

Not at all. But thanks for not really adding anything, it's what this thread needed.

Speaking of not adding anything...you've been sticking around this whole time to...? Definitely not to discuss the reviews. Sounds more like you're just trying to stir up conflict. Whether you like it or not, you're on an enthusiast forum, so there are people who are very passionate about what you consider nothing serious. Why don't you just live with it and let people get excited and passionate and do what they do?

If the review in progress is for multiplayer, it can go up. Perhaps while playing a match something just clicks with the reviewer and they see multiplayer in a better light than they previously did. Something like that. But yeah, I don't expect the score to increase.

The review complaining about not being able to talk to your enemies, trick them, etc is so damn strange

This isnt Witcher. And I normally hate it when people tear apart lower scores, but that is such a madeup complaint

Like, how does it make sense to expect that?

Lol, is this real? What review said that?

ND's track record is insane.

However, I wish they would do a new IP. I'd be so sad if we passed onto the next generation without them doing a single new IP.

For some weird reason I havent played that game yet, I should do it this week while I wait for U4.

Was not a fan of the story of TR2013 if that is anything similar to RoTR

The question I keep asking when Naughty Dog released a game: how come no other studio can come close to the games these guys produce?

They really are miles ahead of every other Sony studio. Its kind of embarrassing comparing their output to just the other large studios they have internally. Kudos to them, hope they will work on something new next.
