Uncharted 28 is going to get only a 70 mc...

Late to the party but I'm loving these scores.

Halfway through UC2 (I'm replaying all games before UC4 comes), so I'm really hyped to see Nathan's end so close after the last adventure is fresh in my mind.

UC3 aiming was the least of its worries. The gunplay was so dire that making it the major feature of the game really left a sour taste in my mouth. I couldnt bare it in the end and never went back. Hearing UC4 is more like 2 is a good, hope it's nothing like 3.

The aiming was a HUGE problem.

I just played through 3 after a few years, albeit remastered. The "gunplay" was nowhere close to "dire." In fact I found it quite a enjoyable set of weapons and combat mechanics and enemy behavior (on hard). What continues to be annoying are: wasted villains; wave-based encounter design in some areas; and FAR too little tactical action and too much walking/"chasing" until Drake finally gets into the real shit in the shipyard. However even those things are pretty good... just not great. Okay, fine, the villain situation really is dire.

This game will sell like crazy, isnt it?

1. Biggest Sony IP currently

2. Biggest PlayStation marketing campaign ever

3. Best reviewed game of the generation

4. Best looking game on PS4

5. Coming from TLOU huge sucess

6. It fits the general public taste: shooting, cinematic, setpiece-heavy, etc

It is the perfect storm. 12 million LTD imo.

4 am here, just woke up for a sec and figured I'd check the review scores. *thumbs up*

Great Singleplayer and Multiplayer. Too many packages that's mostly one or the other these days (not that I think devs should overreach).
I haven't seen Sony ever market a game as hard as Uncharted 4. I saw ads in cinemas last year. Now it's on buses. Web-ads for the last six months etc.
Besides it being their most expensive marketing campaign I also believe I read that it's their most expensive game production to date as well by a good margin.

Do ign sister sites carry similar weight to ign.com. Would be interesting if all the others rate it higher than US.

No way they do, IGN US is the most popular videogame (and I think general entertainment) site in the world, it probably has the biggest influence on MC.

It feels like Sony is officially starting to get their exclusives in check. Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Until Dawn - are three pretty big reasons to own a PS4. With this year and next year quickly coming in - if the new Bend game, Horizon, and the Last Guardian hopefully are all quality- they'll have a nice chest of AAA exclusives. I can't wait to play this game.

EDIT: AND RATCHET AND CLANK. O_O Sorry gents.

You forgot the *now* second best game of the year man... Ratchet and Clank!

Edit: oh wait, third. Dark Souls 3 is the second haha

Until Dawn is at 79, Ratchet and Clank is at 86.

This freaking gen man. Look at how many remasters and re-releases are on this list.

So the real best Ps4 game is Uncharted 4, GTA V and TLOU are remasters.

What i can't understand is the 93 to MGS, Not because i disagree with it, but because reading on gaf it seems like a really bad game.

You are missing Ratchet, despite being remake it turned out to be the fastest selling in franchise history. So far anyway.

You forgot one of the biggest things: multiplayer, not many games offers such an amazing overall package, this game is one of the most valuable 60$ games around.

That might be a bit much, Uncharted series lifetime is around 21M, prob something like 22-23M when counting all those ND Collection on bundles

Ratchet & Clank, MLB 16, and Alienation deserve love too! But yeah, been a nice start to 2016 for the PS4.

Ratchet and Clank was incredible as well. Alienation, MLB The Show and The Witness were all solid too. This year has been the best yet for the console.

I think on the whole, the IGN review is actually pretty good, but one part that sticks out to me is the comments about lack of imagination:

Regarding the series’ trademark outrageously choreographed action sequences, Uncharted 4 suffers from a curious lack of imagination...

...Though it’s let down by a lack of imagination
and some self-indulgence, especially in a third act that drags on far too long, Uncharted 4 carries on the series’ proud tradition of peerless polish and style.

I obviously haven't played it, but from what I've seen in the gameplay and trailers so far, I gotta say I disagree -- a lack of imagination isn't certainly what I'd describe the E3 setpiece. Maybe the others aren't all that? IDK.

As for the 3rd act, I can't really say anything as I obviously haven't played that. The other criticisms seem fair for now. But that one just stood out to me, although I have heard some impressions on the other thread on people saying the setpieces are more grounded, so maybe she's right.

The series has grown tremendously since the first one though. UC3 is at ~10 million for example, while UC1 is ~4 million.

It's incomplete, doesn't feel like a traditional MGS game, and it going open world is a deterrent to the franchise imo.

And then there is the story. It's not a MGS thread, so I'll stop. It's not a 93 game.

Don't forget Gravity Rush. Yeah it's a remaster, but it improves a lot on one of the Vita's best games.

This series went from not charting (lol) in NPD with the first game, to approaching Gears sales (5-6 million worldwide) with the second, to approaching Halo (10 million worldwide) with third in the series. This one can easily do 12 million.
