I don't even remember seeing a 10/10 from Gamespot before. I'm sure they've given them, but rarely, and I'm guessing it's been a long time. Well done UC4.
Their 12th ever 10/10 I think someone mentioned earlier.

Damnnnnnn.They're 92 & 93 I think
Besides being a ND game... Uncharted is a very different game , so it makes no sense to compare different games. I can say TLOU is better for me, without even playing U4, because that game suits my tastes more.
I expect better criteria from 'professional' reviewers really.
UGN UC4 has an "uninspired third act" that feels "repetitive" and "after a while turns into a slog"
I wanted to buy this game today due to all the reviews that popped up. Honestly, next week it'll be old news, and I'll just wait until Best Buy drops it down to 40 dollars. When something is new and everyone is praising it I want it, and will some times just go out and get it. that's what happened with the last Tomb Raider. Never really planned on buying it, then the reviews came out and I went out and bought it, had I had a week to think about, I probably wouldn't have.
Bottom line (Final Verdict):Can you translate bottom line and pros and cons?
who was that gaffer that made that chart with
Uc2: 96
tlou: 95
Uc4: 94
he was fucking right. i wish i quoted him when i had the chance
these threads move way too fast
TW3 or TPP aren't higher? I haven't had time to check.

And the beginning is long and slow. I'm hoping this isn't an Uncharted 3 situation where the middle third is the only great part.
Though I guess it all depends on what that reviewer considers a repetitive slog. That can be code for "it's mostly shootouts and gameplay" which would make it the most interesting act for me. Cinematic immersion walking is not fun to me.
I always despised the insanely prolonged shootouts with bullet sponge enemies in the previous games. It was always my single biggest complaint about the series.
If they've fixed that...hmm.
Most GAFers said the last half is the best. Honestly these things will vary massively player to player, depending on a range of factors. Eg how many times you die in the final encounters, how much time you spend on puzzles, how much you're getting lost etc.

Witcher 3 springs to mind. That's certainly good company for U4.
Uncharted doesn't have bullet sponge enemies and never has.
19/20 enemies can be dispatched with one, perhaps two bullets. There are three enemy types in the entire series who could be classed as bullet sponges, but they make up far less than 1/10 of all enemies in the games. And the games always give you a power weapon somewhere nearby to make short work of them.
You're not wrong about the prolonged shootouts in 1 and 3 though, some iffy pacing.
Head over to the early copy impressions thread. The consensus is that it has some god-tier shootfeel, hit reactions, AI and level design.
All-around best-in-class combat, apparently.
lol this thread is boring. only nd can make a game that scores 94 and i am meh.
its like when messi scores a crazy and people are like "meh" lol
IGN UC4 has an "uninspired third act" that feels "repetitive" and "after a while turns into a slog".
...
"what lets it down however is in uninspired and overly long third act that slows down it's pace considerably with repetitive gameplay " and therefore falls short of NDs previous games.
This is not entirely untrue. I'm a slave to hype.
Going to depend on the player of course. Most GAFers said the last half is the best. Honestly these things will vary massively player to player, depending on a range of factors. Eg how many times you die in the final encounters, how much time you spend on puzzles, how much you're getting lost etc.
Not suprised with these scores.
At what point can you compare any two games then? This is made by the same team and it's the same genre. It's perfectly fine to compare to some degree.

I thought you didn't like it that much?
who was that gaffer that made that chart with
Interesting to hear Colin (Kinda Funny) say he has mechanical issues with the game, but he's not the only one I've heard say it either. He went as far to say it's not in the upper echelon of TPS.
It's a massive step up from previous games - at least it felt that way in the beta - but I'm not sure it's receiving universal acclaim for its gunplay.
Then again, UC's mechanics have always been a point of contention. If it feels right for you, who cares I suppose?
U4 is a much better game from a gameplay and location standpoints. The story just isn't as compelling, but that's to be expected from a lighter Uncharted tone.

I like ROTR but the story and characters should not even be mentioned. Seriously.
Same third person view, not necessarily the same genre. The gameplay design varies substantially on both games.
Have no issues with comparisons though.

But where are the reviews for the REAL Uncharted?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playstation.U4
Not really.
It never had the same ambition story wise.
It's like saying Indiana jones is worse than the thing.
They were both action movies...
Anyway, the story of TLOU was a big hook for people. U4 is a much better game from a gameplay and location standpoints. The story just isn't as compelling, but that's to be expected from a lighter Uncharted tone.

1) not as good as TLOU
2) story "doesn't quite come together"
MGS5 also got a 10/10 from Gamespot last year.
Doesn't matter what a game "deserves" or what you and everyone else think a game deserves. Only what the individual felt about the game

A 94 as predicted! I think this make this the highest rated exclusive this gen.
ItsGWC just posted his video review.
