Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

^Hiro is a legend. There's a recent 30th anniversary compilation CD with music from several of his Sega games. That would be a good candidate for what you're talking about imo.
Is that the SG-1000 4 CD set? That's all I could find, but indeed that looks like the ultimate collection (even if it is from the SG-1000 and not arcade, not that I'm sure there's much difference). If I had the money, I'd snap it up, only comes to roughly $100AU shipped.

All remaining SOR2 orders should ship out this week.

Are you actually with blip blop? Cause I have an inkling you've been in contact with someone about the soundtracks for a certain series (two actually) and whoever runs the blipblop Twitter has been liking when I mention that series as a request.

blip blop is just me :)

I definitely tend to like tweets about possible new vgm titles, so I guess that's my way of backing up about suggestions to labels. Unfortunately I don't know a lot of actual secrets about upcoming titles.

Awesome! I'm glad you like it.

It's worth repeating here: we're considering a new pressing of the Street Fighter II vinyl box set, so please sign up if you're interested in one:

This helps us in determining how many copies to manufacture, as the down-payment for such a set is massive.

Worth noting that it just signs you up for the email list...which I'm already on (but don't own the box set), so I can't sign up, but if you make a second pressing of the set I will give Brave Wave money.

I just got into vinyl and I'm really disappointed I missed this!

Do a pre order to gauge interest

I've never had to work so hard to sign up for a mailing list but I'm on it now!

Anyone here score an autographed Street Fighter 2 boxset from Brave Wave?

Mine just arrived. I was surprised it was shrink-wrapped!

Did anyone open theirs? I'm tempted to, but part of me is like, "Don't do it bro!"

I picked up the MGSV (Mike Oldfield) 7" from my local store yesterday and I see that it comes directly in a PVC sleeve. I've posted this before, but in case some of you missed it, I strongly recommend either replacing the PVC sleeve or at least placing the record in a protective inner sleeve.

Storing records directly in a PVC sleeve can cause chemical damage to the record over time and once this damage has occured it cannot be fixed. You can look up "PVC outgassing" for more detailed explanations of what this is.

This applies to all records that come directly in PVC sleeves (something which is very common with picture discs).

Just wanted to reiterate the praise for Ship to Shore's release of the Mother 2 / Earthbound soundtrack, recieved mine today and it's gorgeous, really superb packaging and sound.

Damn. Didn't know about this considering most of my picture discs are new and the super old ones are all in their own sleeve. Didn't really think about it.
Thanks!

It varies a great deal on how (or even if) they will take damage. It's speculated that tight storage or storage in high heat or humidity can worsen it. Either way it's not something that happens overnight.

The effect will leave what looks like a residue on the records and it looks something like this: http://i.imgur.com/ZlrEz9W.jpg

The records can still be played if affected, but their sound quality will suffer.

Jealous there's no copies of it probably at all in Australia. Seems to be a Europe specific promo thing? Also regarding PVC, what's the best alternative?

It was a UK/EU Record Store Day exclusive, yes. There's several copies on Discogs and eBay at around retail value at the moment, though, and I doubt it'll be super rare at any point.

You can get regular plastic (polypropylene) sleeves many places online and these will protect well against most common stuff (dust, shelfwear, water (to a degree at least), etc.).

For the record - I'm not against using PVC sleeves (I do it myself), just as long as records aren't stored directly in them. PVC is generally sturdier than regular plastic covers and I know from personal experience that cats have a tough time clawing through PVC sleeves... There are horror stories about records being damaged by PVC sleeves even though they're in their jacket, but I've never seen it happen myself. So if you want to be on the safe side plastic sleeves is probably the safest choice.

Anyone knows more about Mother Russia Bleeds soundtrack getting a vinyl release?

https://twitter.com/RussiaBleeds/status/629713302906482688

Sounds pretty awesome.

I found out a little about these. I asked if anyone on Vinyl Collective knew about these and someone tracked down this tweet by Devolver: https://twitter.com/devolverdigital/status/647756499733708800

So it seems they've been given away as prizes at various gaming events and conventions. There's an Enter The Gungeon 7" as well.

Oh man, I really want the Enter the Gungeon soundtrack.

WHAT! NEED

I'm getting annoyed by these promo only things.

Agreed. Just let me buy the damn thing.

Got it this morning after wondering why it was taking its time. Not sure if I will open it or not. Signed, too.
